I honestly can't believe the fanatical lengths some people go to in order to defend their favorite conglomerates.
He clearly loves the PlayStation brand (as do I), but he's angry that 2 digital stores will remain for the foreseeable future. Just why? That simply means more PlayStation goodness, yet he desires less PlayStation goodness.
He's trying his best to 'save face' because he previously defended Sony so hard on their bad decision...
I agree that Dakrborn's post was pointless drivel, comes across has some sort of damage control for nothing.
However, S-E never put Crisis Core on PSN.
Gotta buy the UMD, or mod your PSP / PS Vita / PS TV to play it. Or emulate if you're into that.
What's sad is that those games are in genres that I love to play. I would have bought them if they were given more time to be properly planned out, coded, and polished.
It sucks to see so much time, energy, and potential be wasted because of business executives wanting to rush out a product.
Best post made on this article. 👍
I never visit Metacritic or Opencritic, I don't care about other people's opinions anymore. I used to be influenced by others on message boards, but I ended up buying games that were good but weren't for my tastes, or I simply bought bad games.
This doesn't happen as often anymore, I watch video footage of a game, I'll find out if it's a broken buggy mess or not, and that's all I really need to k...
As a huge light gun fan, I'm going to remain skeptical until the controls are actually confirmed to work well.
Not interested in playing with an analog stick, and the JoyCon motion control isn't up to snuff since there's no IR bar to help with calibration.
Until then I'll just play THOTD on Saturn with a real light gun, or with the Sinden gun on a modern TV.
YES! But also I want to see BC, there's nothing stopping Sony from doing it. Very frustrating they willfully disregard their own awesome past.
Jim Ryan is not the reason why PS5 and PSN are so successful. He's just a suit.
PS5 and PSN are so successful because Sony built up over 20 years of consumer trust and fanaticism.
There were far less third party games on N64 and Saturn compared to PS1, which dominated the market.
Trend continued the next generation as well.
Jim Ryan didn't create the IPs that made gamers fall in love with the PS brand. From early Crash Bandicoot, to Ape Es...
Should we? Yes. But not for shutting down servers of old games.
AKI N64 and early Smackdown! Yukes games still hold up great to this day! People who plan on buying this new turd should play those games instead. Easy to emulate, fun to play, and amazing with other players.
Phil Spencer has been the worst thing to happen to the Xbox division. He's canceled games, released broken unfinished games, bought studios but has nothing to show for it, and will continue to show nothing for another 2-3 years.
He's also the first executive in history to launch a new console without a single new game. My interest has continuously nosedived in Xbox since 2013, and he's done literally nothing to get me back on board again. Its a shame because I l...
Not a spicy hot take at all. Its an accurate statement, and Ubisoft are one of the biggest offenders in modern gaming.
I got fed up with this stale, all-filler-no-killer series. Boring characters and stories, boring combat mechanics, boring game worlds that are too big for their own good. Endless grinding, where they sell you the solution via micro-trash-actions.
Nuts to you Ubisoft, I'm done with AC.
Yeah the dev team didn't fully make the most out of the concept for the game, but I'm blaming Square-Enix as well. They have a long history of releasing half-baked low-budget games that had potential.
The Quiet Man, Fear Effect Sedna, Left Alive. All games that needed more dev time.
If a publisher is starting a consistent trend where you don't give developers enough time to properly plan out, code, and polish your game, then you can't blam...
I'm sure his next game will be on PC as well. Its a very smart move to release it first on PlayStation consoles, wait a year or two, then release it on PC.
Even Sony first party games like Days Gone, Horizon, Detroit, etc. are following this procedure. Its a good business move and it doesn't harm the PlayStation ecosystem all that much since they've already gotten the vast majority of the sales that platform would have generated already.
Video game preservation is important. There will be humans that aren't even born yet that will eventually want to play PS3 / PSP / PS Vita games. Its easy to hack all 3 consoles of course, so that will be the only method going forward.
There are plenty of exclusive games locked to PS3 / PSP that will be gone for good, from MGS 4 to Crisis Core FF7 (UMD only because S-E gotta be like that).
Old games have value, I've been playing more retro games t...
I was thinking it looked more like a SNES with Super FX chip type of game. Still, I do like the concept behind this April Fool's joke.
Legit cringe when MS promotes Achievements and GamerScore. Sad state of affairs for them to be that desperate.
The stores didn't do it for me after Desmond's arch concluded in III. Everything fell apart in terms of story and lore. This is due to a variety of reasons, not just Darby's writing.
It takes time to come up with a master plan story arch, time that game publishers don't give their writing team, unfortunately. Starting with Black Flag we've had pointless one-off loose plot threads that abruptly end with no pay off.
Black Flag had the ...
Homebrew of course. If you can install pirated games, obviously you can install patches and DLC along with it.
Yeah, Crash 4 is a free update, so it doesn't conflict with MS policy.
Ah, so basically Sony listened to the fans clamoring for cross play. In order for that to occur, they made an intelligent business deal so that they don't lose revenue, which is completely logical and acceptable for them to do. But now people are trying to spin this in a negative way.
Lots of idiots on Twitter trying to make Sony come across poorly in light of this. Losers.
