Because Sony would pay for it, just like they helped fund CAPCOM to develop Street Fighter V.
You just answered your own question, Konami wouldn't pay to develop a high-quality game these days, so its up to someone else to foot the bill.
They can't use the original voice work at a higher bit rate for a specific reason. MGS was recorded inside a home, and they had to frequently stop recording as cars drove by and honked their horns.
If you were to listen to the original higher-quality recording of the PS1 files (which were compressed), you would actually hear cars driving by and other ambient sounds in the background. This is simply unacceptable as you could imagine, and so Twin Snakes had to have all vo...
Astro's Playroom is really the unsung hero of the new console launches this year. The game is packed with details and a lot of fun. Sony could have easily charged $20 for this game, but gave it away for free!
What's even more sad is if you look in the comments they posted sales break down for Ace Attorney and Onimusha:
The Capcom leaks also gave us the global platform sales splits of Ace Attorney Trilogy, as of Oct 2020:
> NSW: 462,395
> PC: 245,339
> PS4: 103,235
> XBO: 4,821
Total: 815,790
I found Onimusha HD's sales split as well:
> PS4: 207,453
> NSW: 111,869

Yeah, wow, cringey. I bet he had no reaction when PSP-2000 released with component output to a TV. Or PS TV playing PS1 + PSP + PS Vita games on the big screen. He's probably too young to even know what a SEGA Nomad is. Video out has been done many times before, and its really not that big of a deal.
For the past decade Ubisoft has released unfinished and unpolished titles. Rushing games out before Black Friday to cash in on the holiday hype and craze.
They keep doing it because stupid gamers keep buying their trash. If gamers would just stop buying their games, put them out of business, then and only then would they learn their lesson. But no. Here we are. Rushed glitchy games. Rushed glitchy patches.
Don't be shocked that Ubisoft knowingly rushed out a broken game prior to Black Friday. That has been their M.O. for over a decade now.
This is one of the best posts I've read on N4G in a long time. Spot on, and exactly my thoughts. I have the SpiderMan PS4 Platinum, but doing all the 'clean up work', like collecting things and stopping crimes was pretty damn boring. Glad to hear that MM doesn't bog the player down with extra crap.
The thing is, gamers believe that adding an extra 40 hours of boring filler in a game equates to "REPLAY VALUE" but no, that's not true replay value...
Does warranty require a receipt? Shouldn't it only require registering the serial number on the PSN account? Only the first registration counts of course.
I had a similar set of thoughts but a bit easier to manage:
Only Sony should be the exclusive temporary seller of the console. You must have an active PSN account, and request a console. PSN seniority (age) and activity (hours played) are checked automatically, and their long time fans get first crack at purchasing a console.
In order to prevent scalping, the console would come pre-installed with your PSN account, this is bad for scalpers, but good for re...
The first half is correct, but the second half about 'flooding the market' is actually impossible. Sony would be happy to do so, but they can only make so many in a single day.
Sony already had two PS5 pre-order batches made specifically for their fans, and that's how I got mine. No stress, no issues, easy-peasy, took about 15 minutes waiting in a virtual line. All Sony needs to do is continue that process and be the temporary exclusive seller in that same manne...
The solution is actually simple, but it requires that only Sony sells the console exclusively until after demand has started to drop off. Only people with an active PSN account should be allowed to pre-order or purchase a PS5 in the early days, this way the biggest PlayStation fans are guaranteed a console at launch period.
After that demand drops, and so does the resell value, and finally other stores would start to stock the console. Its an easy solution, but Sony wants r...
I've played on Stadia for free, and its actually pretty decent. Highlights include GYLT and Super Bomberman R Online.
GYLT is basically like Resident Evil 2 remake crossed over with Stranger Things. A slightly less scary version of RE2 where you play as a young girl. Its really good, beat it four times! But its a Stadia exclusive (for now) and not many people know about it because of that.
Super Bomberman R Online is a battle royal game, and I thought...
Ace Attorney, Final Fight, Power Stone?!
YES BABY! Thank you CAPCOM, all we need now is Dino Crisis Remake, and Mega Man Legends 3! Come on, you're on a roll here, make your fans happy!
Very interesting. Didn't care much for EA Bond titles, so glad to see them lose the license.
Hope this game has:
- Wit
- Charm
- Humor
- Stealth
- Non-lethal takedowns
- Alternative paths through missions
No grinding for EXP / Skill points / Resource collecting / Currency / Forced online server connection / etc. That'll just drive me away from it.
Sony is most likely doing this to avoid having their console get hacked since save files can be a method of homebrew injection, but taking away standardized gaming rights is specifically what sets people off towards piracy.
Nintendo was the first to do this with cloud storage as the only official method of backing up save files, and its not free. MS offers free cloud storage, why can't billion dollar companies like Nintendo and Sony as well?
One of th...
You've just described Ubisoft as a whole over the past 7 years. They've sunk so low, and the only reason they make games anymore is to put in a micro-trash-action store within their games.
I haven't played WD:L yet, but a 2/10 really isn't out of the realm of possibility for 'typical Ubisoft filler trash'.
We also need them to translate the current Japanese-only games in the series. :/
The best news of 2020. I can't believe it took a console manufacturer this long to finally stop making us sit through the same CGI scenes upon loading games. Very pleased with this!
I totally see where you're coming from with that, Gatsu. But think of it this way, the 'true original stories' were already made by Kojima. The remakes (if they ever make them), doesn't negate the originals.
We could have Bluepoint take their own spin on the game, maybe even consult with Kojima, which they have a history with him since they teamed up with Kojima Productions in the past to remaster MGS 2, MGS 3, MGS PW.
Basically, whatever ...
