The part that gets me is that he claims Xbox Series consoles has a "stacked, quality lineup".
But really, what are those games? Only a single MS has a release date, and how do we know that any Xbox Series games are quality until after they are released and been played?

Such bold claims of the future, I wish I had the gall to do the same!

'Hollow time sink' is exactly my main problem with modern day 'Games As A Service', which is the direction many greedy and ignorant publishers are heading. Looking for as many 'wallet whales' as possible to keep them afloat.

A shame, I have it on PS4, so I can always re-download it. But this is another reason why the "all digital future" is going to be awful. Disputes and licenses running out is bad for gaming preservation. And so really the only option in the future is piracy. Sucks it has to be that way, but that's the way it goes.

The issue isn't if games are too long, the issue is why they are too long. Most long games these days are just packed with filler, grinding, gatekeeping, and other terrible ways to artificially extend the length of a game.

A short game like Metal Gear Solid 1 is all killer no filler. A long game like Assassin's Creed Odyssey is all filler no killer. That's the critical difference. You just can't make an 80 hour game like MGS, because then it becomes exhausti...

A soft modded PS Vita solves all problems, I'm using a 200GB micro SD card, and it's been amazing playing countless PS1 classics that I converted into 'eboots'.

These words would mean something if they had actually focused on good game experiences since back in 2012, instead of Kinect 1, Kinect 2, egregious micro-trash-action filled games like Forza, or buggy disasters like ReCORE, Crackdown 3, and Halo: MCC which took YEARS until the online was properly fixed.

His words mean nothing to me, and I never understood why people put faith in him. The best game released under his watch was maybe Gears 5? Which was a fun game, but didn...

Its for the best, really. No remake could top the original, Twin Snakes sucked compared to the original.
I've beaten MGS 1 around 15 times now (most recently one year ago), and it holds up fine to me.
I own Twin Snakes and I've never beaten it, just made it up to meeting Meryl in the restroom, got bored and moved on. There's so much about that game I can't stand.
Its not often when remakes tops originals anyway. One of the rare exceptions being the f...

I love Takedown, Revenge, and Paradise. Dominator was okay, but it clearly felt like a B-tier game.

After playing those awesome games, I went back to try out part 1 and it was rough. I didn't like the controls (whereas the others felt perfect to me), the elevator music was generic and not enjoyable to listen to.

Finally the game's difficulty was extremely high. I could beat all single player races in Takedown, Revenge, Paradise, Dominator, but c...

Indeed, PS+ games I've been playing recently:

Bulletstorn: Full Clip Edition (just beat it, and it's awesome)

Knack 1 (playing the game on Hard is much more difficult than I expected, but it's been pretty good, a nice change of pace with the glut of shooter games flooding the market)

Control (only tried out the beginning so far, but I think I'll end up enjoying it)

Super Time Force Ultra (a funny game ...

These articles have been popping up frequently as of late, but this is one perfectly spot-on!
Ubisoft has turned to embarrassing shit, and because of that, its for the best that they don't make another Splinter Cell game.
We don't need it to turn into a modern Ubishit game with endless grinding, constantly picking up trash off the ground for upgrading our equipment and a micro-trash-action store that sells you "time savers" because let's be honest here,...

I had the exact same thought. The story has been trash since the end of Desmond's story arch. Everything has felt like a rushed after-thought, any cheap excuse they can come up with for a new game with a sloppy and poorly thought out story.

Furthermore, since Origins, the story has basically betrayed the core principles of the series, where you were supposed to view your ancestors memories, but now just put on some tiny VR goggles and you can see anyone and everyone'...

The last three games were grindy slogs. Doing everything they can to slow you down, by forcing you to level up (not needed in an AC game), constantly collect trash off the ground to upgrade either your boat, your armor, or your weapons (exhaustively boring), and of course let's not forget the completely stale and lack of any creativity in the massive skill tree menus (a crutch used by unimaginative game developers who have no idea how to do real character progression).

Please don't disrespect Kofi Kingston by analogizing him to the Xbox brand.

Everything after Syndicate was filler grindy junk. It all goes nowhere. These days Ubisoft only makes games to use as a method to deploy a micro-trash-action storefront. They don't care about making fun games anymore.

Replay the earlier games instead of the new ones. You'll save money and have a better time. Such a shame, but that's what happens when your company becomes EA and Take 2 levels of greed.

I loved AC from part 1 (yes, I loved part 1) up to AC III (yes, I loved part III even though it had a few rough spots).
After part III the lore didn't matter anymore. Ubisoft was just stalling with each new game story, I was hoping that they'd actually progress the modern story but they never did. We got a bunch of plot threads left hanging, such as 'The Sage' in IV or Juno 'living inside' Abstergo computer servers in Rouge (wtf was that even about?).

I have an OLED TV, LG CX model. So my old Switch is already an OLED Switch. No need for the upgrade since I played docked 99% of the time.

There have been two sets of rumors going around, one was logical (OLED screen), and the other illogical (graphical boost). The fake rumors about a 4K Switch (or Switch Pro), were never possible during this pandemic and chip shortage issues. There's no way Nintendo could make a new console yet. Of course they are working on it, but it...

Digital Foundry called it, indeed.
Due to all the chip shortages, it'd be a bad idea to release a new model, especially when the current model is still selling out in stores. The Switch should have launched in 2017 with 64GB of internal memory though. Feels like in 2021, it should have 128GBs minimum. Cheapskates Nintendo.
