More like "is this the death of COD on the PC ?" Just because a cash in job like COD Black Ops gets released in a sorry state does not mean that is one of the signs of PC gaming dying.
I think it's also more of an indication of how totally incompetent Treyarch are rather than "omgz this must mean PC gaming is dying".
Does the sorry state of COD BO bother me ? Nope because I wasn't stupid enough to buy it. I stopped playing COD af...
@ ALFAxD_CENTAURO - not all the DLC will be on disc. The statement clearly says that the comic and the Cerberus content will be available for free download if you have a Cerberus code.
It is being done this way to combat used game sales. If you buy the game new you will get free access to the comic and some of the DLC (such as zaeed, firewalker, Normandy) However if you buy the game used on the PS3 you will have to pay an extra $15 to get a new Cerberus code.
It should be noted that this mod also comes with a pretty cool "mini quest" which quite a surprise, but I won't say anything else. This is a fantastic mod and every PC gamer with Fallout NV should install it.
There really should have been something in between just running everywhere and fast travel. Thankfully I am playing the PC version and I imagine it won't be long before there is a vehicle mod for Fallout NV (there was one for Fallout 3 where you could repair the broken motorbikes in the game).
Hm even EA admit that MOH "didn't meet quality expectations"

So if a company says that about their own product then just perhaps all those bad review scores were justified. So let's see the publisher/developer admits the game had shortcomings and dozens of reviews highlight the shortcomings but HHG cl...
Your post is riddled with inaccuracies, have you ever used steam ? Let's see :-
Firstly steam does not force you to auto update, you have the ability to TURN OFF auto updating on individual titles if that is what you wish. I have also never known steam to redownload an entire game just to update it so I don't know where you got that from.
Secondly you are totally incorrect about having to be online to go offline. If you start steam and there is no ...
Proof if ever there was any needed that the software industry is run by the human equivalent of headless chickens.
Naturally it is good news for those that care about Bioshock 2 but I think the damage has been done now. The minute they cancelled the DLC on the PC it was a clear message that we should not buy 2K products on the PC because we would not be guaranteed support.
That message was received loud and clear by this PC gamer and I will take my money els...
lol trying to buy PC gamers are we. Hm how terribly tempting 100 ms points that I will never use if I sign up for a newsletter telling me they are releasing 10 year old games on their revamped GFWL service.
Thanks but no thanks I will stick with other services for my entertainment needs.
ROFL @ Rockstar supporting PC gaming but then why shouldn't I be surprised MS is teaming up with 4 companies that are so out of touch with the PC gaming scene it isn't even funny.
I did have a chuckle at MS's opening erm "line up" for their new GFWL reboot. Hm lets see they are offering launch titles such as GTA III, Max Payne, Deus Ex: Game of the Year edition. I mean my god those games are OVER TEN YEARS OLD and have been available on steam for years...
Yeah cos consoles don't suffer from piracy do they ? oh wait yes they do. I would say 36,000 is pretty good going for a niche indie game. I didn't buy it nor did I pirate it.
At the end of the day if you make a niche game then all the great reviews in the world won't get you blockbuster sales it's a NICHE game that the majority are not likely to be interested in, hell I wouldn't even say Amnesia is that heavily pirated either.
I explained why Crysis 2 has gone multiplatform, it is for the same reason Mass Effect 2 is now fully multiplatform, it is why Final Fantasy 709 is multiplatform.
It does not make good business sense to restrict your audience for no good reason. Crytek have gone multiplatform because their game will sell on the console just as well as it would on the PC so why shouldn't they make it for the console as well ? After all there is no organisation on the PC that is going to ...
Then why does the PC have exclusives such as Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and Civilisation 5 ? If piracy is the reason the PC loses exclusives because of piracy why have those titles remained exclusive to the PC platform ?
Tell you what I will save you the energy of replying. Those games have stayed exclusive because they don't make any money on the consoles. They are games that are ONLY successful on the PC.
So why has games like Crysis gone multiplatform ? ...
*YAWNS*
Didn't play the first one and I highly doubt there will be anything in the second one to entice me.
So once again instead of giving fans what they want (an announcement of Episode 3) we get this ...... colour me unimpressed.
Outcast was one of my favourite games, it was fantastic for it's time and such a shame it never saw a sequel. Anyway going to check out this fan made sequel now, it's been such a long time since I heard "ulukai" reverberate from my speakers.
Well I can solve this problem in a second. All Gearbox needs to do is use the service that has the most consumers. Let's see steam has around 25 million customers and GFWL has about erm well 10 I think (yes that is sarcasm).
At the end of the day you don't need to do a retail version of your game, a gfwl version of your game and a steam version of your game. Just PICK ONE, but make sure it is the right one or you will find consumers won't have any interest in y...
@ InTheKnow - I get the feeling you aren't "in the know" about how the PC market works. Microsoft are pretty much an insignificant speck of dirt to PC gamers. Nearly every game or franchise MS has released on the PC has failed, their online GFWL service has failed. Even the almighty "Halo" died a death on the PC because PC gamers weren't interested.
In short MS threw most of it's big guns at the PC games market and PC gamers told them where ...
Whilst I will admit that my optical drive doesn't get used a hell of a lot these days I can't imagine not having a PC with an optical drive in it just yet. The DVD drive still serves a useful purpose especially if you are doing a format and reinstall (although with win7 that is very much a rarity now).
Admittedly the DVD drive is heading the same was as the floppy disc drive though, it will probably take another couple of years for it to fade from existence but event...
What has "yea I'm pretty sure stealing dlc is better than paying for it so you got one there" have to do with anything ? The news report specifically states that the Left 4 Dead DLC is FREE on the PC. No one is stealing anything, the DLC is released by Valve to the PC community for free.
I have no doubt Valve would be quite happy to release the DLC for free to xbox users as well it's just Microsoft don't want that and so Xbox users will have to pay $...
Wow a severe case of Deja Vu just hit me reading MS's latest tripe. They said something similar 4 years ago :-
"I want to apologize for the dereliction of duty to our company's number-one platform, the PC, in terms of gaming. We've been a little distracted for the past few years"
http://uk.gamespot.com/news...
So basically every 4 years we can expect a...
So let me see if I have this straight, retailers that neglected, marginalised and tried to kill off PC gaming are now bitching that steam is such a run away success that their own DD services don't get a look in ...... ?
There is an old saying that is applicable here "hey Mr Retailer you made your ****ing bed, now lie in it". But I have to admit that did make buying games from steam a little bit more pleasurable. I will enjoy knowing that every time I buy a ...
