I have always cared about game ratings, I appreciate they are there to protect children from being exposed to situations they are not ready for or entertainment that could cause long term mental harm.
Now if Molyneux lets his kid play these games then that is up to him as a parent. However to flaunt in public the fact that he allows his 7-10 year old child play a Mature rated game is disgraceful.
As I said earlier if the kid had demanded a sequel to a porn m...
The age ratings exist to protect Children from "entertainment" that they might not be ready for or that might cause them mental harm. If Peter had got his son to ask for a sequel to "Debbie Does Dallas" people would be disgusted that he let his son watch those kind of movies. Yet for some odd reason it is acceptable to people that a young child like this can demand a Mature rated game.
The same principle applies here, Half Life is a MATURE rated game and...
Hm so Peter Molyneux gets his young son to demand Valve release a game that is rated "Mature". I am pretty sure the next Half Life game will be rated Mature as well so the kid shouldn't be playing Half Life anyway.
Hey Peter, video games have differenet age ratings for a reason.
Kudo Tsunoda has definitely earned his place on the PC wall of shame :-

It is good to see ID people coming out in support of the PC and actually showing a bit of commonsense, something that seems to be lacking in this day and age in the Software Industry.
It is free on the PC :-

Oh and before anyone reports me for piracy, it is a legitimate link the game was released for FREE on the PC by Channel 4 because there is no greedy all encompassing corporate control for the PC platform.
Not a bad little game to be fair got some nice coarse humour in it. If you have a PC then pick it up and try it.
@ Persistantthug - the reason GTA does not sell as well on the PC as the consoles is down to a lot of factors. The principle one being it is released nearly a year later than the consoles. By the time Rockstar get around to a PC version people have lost interest or played it on the consoles.
APB had every chance of being a massive success. The reason it wasn't is not down to it being on the PC (the home of MMO's). The reason APB failed is because it was absolutely...
Yeah but the key question that has not been answered issssssss :-
IS IT BALANCED FOR LEAN
Sorry couldn't resist, I still remember all those Tank falling over Meme's with "not balanced for lean".
I imagine DVD rental places can apply for a license to rent in a similar way that Libraries need to have a licence to lend books out and Radio stations need a license to play music.
Don't worry the software industry will find a way to protect their interests whilst doing their utmost to limit yours.
I don't have much of a lawyers head but from what I can tell it now means they can ENFORCE the no sale clause in the EULA. I know from time to time I have seen people say "the EULA isn't worth the paper it is written on" I believe that has now changed it in effect removes the "first sale doctrine" which guarantees your right to resell what you buy. So selling software second hand that you have legitimately bought becomes about as legal as piracy.
This is for PHYSICAL and DIGITAL copies of software, it is for all software regardless of whether you buy it on disc or in digital form from the net :-
"A federal appeals court said Friday that software makers can use shrink-wrap and click-wrap licenses to forbid the transfer or resale of their wares, an apparent gutting of the so-called first-sale doctrine."
Last time I checked digital copies don't use shrink-wrap. This could effectively mean ...
Agent is "currently" exclusive to the PS3, going by Rockstars luck lustre support for the PC platform I cannot see Agent ever appearing on the PC.
The GTA collection could easily be done on the xbox 360 with just two discs. You could have GTA 3 and Vice City on one disc then GTA SA on a second disc. It is entirely possible you could get all three on one DVD since compression rates are massively better today then they were all them years ago.
The o...
Rockstar are artists at saying bulls**t. I love the way the reporter claims that Playstation users "made them". Last time I checked it was PC gamers that were the first to buy into Rockstars products and support them, so you could call PC gamers the "original fanbase" and we all know how well Rockstar treat the PC platform now.
It wasn't till Sony bought timed exclusivity of GTA 3 for it's PS2 that it suddenly became a "playstation" fra...
So basically another "hating on steam" article eh ? I find it hard to take the writer seriously when he says stuff like :-
"Yet while I'm madly in love with both Xbox achievement points and PSN trophies, there is one type of achievement that doesn't interest me at all - Steam achievements. Awarded during certain PC games available via Steam, they mean absolutely nothing to me, and are really quite pointless."
Hey wake up they are ...
Steam is NOT coming to the PS3 what is coming to the PS3 is "steamworks" which is a collection of API's that allow for things like cloud saves, multiplayer and automatic updates. Steam and steam works are two different things I wish people would realise this.
I wouldn't bank on it, it is inevitable some of the DLC will be included with the PS3 version. However this new DLC is designed to be played AFTER the storyline of ME 2. This is an incredibly eagerly anticipated DLC and it isn't hard to see EA keeping it as PAID DLC for all platforms.
If I was to guess you will probably get all the DLC up to Overlord for free any DLC after Overlord will have to be purchased by PS3 users as well. This is just a guess I have no proof...
In case any one is wondering the Shadow Broker DLC is geared towards being played AFTER the end of Mass Effect 2. You can play it before the end of ME 2 if you want but it is designed to be played after the conclusion of ME 2. This was comfirmed by a mod on the Bioware forums :-

@ shazui123 - You came into a PC news piece listing a bunch of PS3 exclusives and then stated "this is why the PC will remain inferior". Now honestly if I went into a PS3 news piece and started spouting the PC's exclusive games and saying "that is why the PS3 will remain inferior" you would call me a fanboy quick smart (and a troll to boot). So yeah your posting in here is fanboyism whether you like it or not.
I see you are quick to resort to insult...
@ shazui123 - yeah because your post wasn't in any way fanboyish was it ? Listing off a number of PS3 exclusive games and claiming that the PC will remain inferior because of the exclusives.
Tell me how superior is the PS3 when it comes to Starcraft 2 ? or Diablo 3 ? or The Witcher ? how about Stalker ? I would take those four games over your exclusives any day of the week.
All platforms have their exclusives, I find the exclusives on the PC match my pe...
@ White-Sharingan - you know those games you listed they don't interest me just like you didn't find the list I posted of "interest". Now don't worry I have no interest in ever touching a console as you put it. Why would I want to touch a console when the PC has hundreds of titles exclusive to it and the multiplatform titles are better on the PC ?
You cited GTA 4 as a bad port ...... hm that's strange it still ran on my PC at 2048 x 1152 details o...
@ Elven6 - Perhaps it is time the responsibility was taken away from the parents since the parents are showing very little responsibility with regards to the guidelines.
I appreciate the ratings are there as a "guide" and had his son been about 13/14 I wouldn't have had a problem but from what I can see his son isn't even 10.
The Half Life series has an M rating, that means you should be 17 or older to play the game. I find it hard to belie...
