Congratulations to Rockstar they have managed to make Max Payne totally unrecognisable. In fact if those pics hadn't been labelled "Max Payne 3" I wouldn't have a clue who that character is supposed to be.
If EA were to bring something Mass Effect related to the android platform I would be all over it in seconds.
I knew just reading the intro to this article that it must have been written by Jim Sterling. I am starting to think good ole Jim Sterling is under the impression he is the only "proper" gamer/human being on the planet.
I mean this guy does nothing but whine and moan 99% of the time about anything gaming related.
I had a feeling that this probably wasn't going to be the most "well received" decision on the net today. I imagine if a big name company like EA or Activision had tried this then there would have been absolute uproar.
At the end of the day most modders release their mods totally free and it seems silly to make them pay a license fee for releasing a mod that IMPROVES your game. There is an argument for a license fee for modders that sell their mods, but those ...
Erm what does Sony have to do with this article ? This is an article posing the question of whether Gears of War 3 will come to the PC not the PS3.
As for the story, I am sure Epic do want to bring their game to the PC. The thing is their paymasters (MS) don't. After all in Microsofts own words "if you give people a choice between buying the PC or Xbox version they will choose the PC version"

Yes I know the game is being published by Microsoft but that doesn't mean there is some strange "behind the scenes" alliance happening.
ALL that is happening is that MS want to sell copies of Fable 3 and they are only going to do that if they actually use the number 1 distribution system on the PC which is Steam.
I don't think for a second MS actually wants to use steam but they know if they don't use steam then Fable 3 will go the sam...
Let me get this straight, Microsoft are allowing ONE game to be sold on steam so that is evidence of some sort of partnership with Valve and may herald steamworks on the xbox 360.
I wonder have the gaming media ever heard of "Occam's Razor" ? roughly speaking the simplest explanation is often the right one. Microsoft are selling Fable 3 on steam because if they don't hardly anyone on the PC will actually buy it. It is nothing more than that, end of.
My observations of all this (I didn't take part because Portal 2 isn't a game that interests me) is that most people are angry that the ARG appears to be fixed. I saw the meltdown when after 4 days of continuously playing Super Meatball it knocked 5 mins off the release time (all the other games had taken between 30 - 50 mins off the time).
In other words Valve were rigging it to ensure it released at a certain time. That is fair enough that is up to Valve it is the...
Ha I never thought I would see the day where Microsoft almost completely give up on their online store. I am sure Fable 3 will get a few more sales with it being on steam but come on here £35 for a delayed port when you can pick up the Xbox 360 version for £29.
You do realise the game will still have GFWL even if you buy it from steam ? All you are doing is purchasing the game from steam but it will still come infested with GFWL. If you need an example of how it will work then check out GTA 4. That could be purchased from Steam but it is still infested with GFWL.
Valve issued a challenge then secretly kept moving the goalposts to insure that no matter what people did they would never have knocked off any more than a couple of hours off the "official" release date.
You could have got all 3 million current steam users playing these games and it wouldn't have changed a thing because Valve were manipulating the results to ensure that no matter what only a few hours were gained.
It's a scam because it is starting to look like the ARG was rigged to ensure they never got any meaningful reduction in the release date.
Valve never intended to release Portal 2 on the PC any earlier and they rigged the ARG so that no matter how many people took part the only result would be a few hours off the release time.
Now I personally don't care myself I didn't like the first Portal but I know if another company such as EA or Activision ha...
"Despite massive efforts, Console users will STILL play Portal 2 first"
What a lot of people are starting to realise about this "unlock it early" rubbish is that it was fixed right from the start. Valve never intended to unlock Portal 2 any earlier than the actual release day. We could've got everyone on steam playing these potato games and it still wouldn't have made a difference, it was a marketing scam and some got trolled hard by Valve.
But they are not comparing architecture or CPU's. All Nvidia did was show how GPU's are better today than they were yesteryear (well duh). Now I would have thought it would make more sense to use an Nvidia chip as a baseline for Nvidia products. But I guess it isn't good business to go "hey our Nvidia RSX is crap compared to modern Nvidia GPU's".
What I find curious about this story is why are Nvidia comparing their products to a console that has an ATI GPU in it ? I mean surely it would make more sense for them to compare it against a console based Nvidia GPU that exists in the PS3 or is it a case of them not wanting to show one of their products in a bad light.
You are not getting the steam store on the PS3 you are getting steam works which is a set of services such as the in game overlay, cross chat, friends list, automatic updating, free DLC, cross platform gaming and steam cloud saving etc. All these services are free.
The actual steam store that you find on the PC is not coming to the PS3.
You will find there isn't much of a "casual RPG crowd" on the PC. So the only people that are likely to buy Fable 3 will be too busy with the superior Witcher 2.
As for being bitter, I wouldn't say I am bitter but I am fed up of Microsoft on the PC. Right now the best thing MS can do is kill GFWL and leave the PC platform for good rather than doing these half-hearted "yeah we so love PC gaming honest guys we really really really do... we mean it this ...
/facepalm
So let me get this straight the LEAD DESIGNER has stated that the game he worked on is not a "half done port" ? well there is a shocking revelation.
Firstly the fact it is using GFWL pretty much drags it down to the level of a half done port anyway. Still you got to feel for the poor guy his game is going up against The Witcher 2, that is not going to end well for Fable 3 on the PC.
I have no doubt soon after it's re...
"I thought it had auto aim"
Yeah but you see some of us like to actually play the game rather than have the console play the game for us.
I am sure what Kotaku meant to say was that "a small vocal minority" of fans threw a hissy fit about this. A poll on the bioware board showed most are in favour of same sex romances :-
http://social.bioware.com/1...
Only 11% were against the idea, 12% couldn't care less, leaving 74% approving of same sex romances in some form or another.
I can't say I...
