It could be argued that it's not technically an exclusive, since it's also on PS3.

Edit: Ah, Dragon Quest Builders in here too, and Rime, which is coming to PC. Why call them PS4 exclusives then? It just irks me. I don't see anyone calling Rime/Quantum Break a PC exclusive, or DQB/Ys VIII a Vita exclusive. Yet for some reason, depending on the platform, you're allowed to twist the meaning of the word. If they don't want to list exclusives then don't...

I'm glad. Not because I want the game to fail, but for once it would be good to see gamers actually stick to their guns instead of bashing a game constantly, claiming it's a waste of money, down voting the trailer into oblivion... and then buying it anyway.

Well for one, you can party online while in the nude, a bowl of minstrels on your lap and a bottle of amaretto at your side, browsing through deviantart and nobody will give a damn. :)

Exactly. And hasn't this become a bit of a trend lately? "You don't REALLY want turn based battles, games have moved on." "You don't REALLY want Crash Bandicoot, older games suck now." "You don't REALLY want a silent protagonist, or manual save points, or CGI cut scenes..."

It's just infuriating. People assume that you have to be addled with nostalgia and looking through rose-tinted spectacles to enjoy older games, or mechan...

"No one really wants a new Resident Evil where your protagonist retreads over the same locations repeatedly while solving indecipherable key puzzles and running from the most basic enemy type in the game because they made a mistake and carried more plants than bullets."

But that... actually sounds like fun. Is it just me? I'd love to see more old school horror games. This quote actually makes me think of PT. You walk down the same corridor, solve obscure puzzl...

How is it that some gamers manage these ridiculous feats so quickly? Like the guys who were speed running The Evil Within on Akumu mode within two weeks of its release, or the guys who achieved trackmaster on all 200 campaign challenges on Trackmania Turbo after a month or so. Or what about the people doing no death runs of Super Meat Boy? It just boggles the mind...

I don't see why it should be forced. Games like Super Mario Galaxy do it right, by making 60 stars give you the ending and leaving you to tackle harder levels if you want 100% completion, or simply leave it at that. Plus, difficulty is subjective. Even "easy" mode will be too hard for some gamers and sometimes "hard" mode is still really really easy for others. And as for "tailor your entire experience" type games... I hate them. It ruined Project Cars' c...

So often when studios try to "appeal" to a wider audience they manage to botch it. Remember Dead Space 3? Instead of survival horror EA wanted a fast-paced co-op action game to appeal to the masses, and they actually expected it to sell better than the first 2 games. Guess what? It sold WORSE. (I myself got it from a bargain bin after buying the first 2 at full price) Then there was Resident Evil 6, which Mikami himself said was "going after the Call of Duty crowd." Guess ...

Yeah, the part where he says the 360 could have run any PS3 game comes off as extremely fanboyish. Even if he was right, the fact is, those games DIDN'T get released on the 360, and we didn't see hardly any games come close to the likes of The Last of Us in terms of visuals. "They could do it if they wanted to" doesn't make a difference unless they actually do it. It's the kind of excuse a little kid would make in a playground. I'm guessing he'd also argue th...

The PS3 may have initially survived based on PS brand but that soon changed in 2008, and since then the PS3 saw countless quality exclusives of a variety of genres. The 360 is a great console and all but this author seems like a massive Sony hater, downplaying all the positives as if he's trying to rebut a legion of pre-teen Sony fanboys on a system wars forum.

This is a good decision. I would get so annoyed by trolls on Project Cars who would deliberately smash into people, cause pile-ups off the starting grid, and even park their car by the pit exit so you would automatically crash into them after visiting the pits. Plus so many people would rather ram someone off the road for a laugh than actually try for a place on the podium. Then they just quit the race, no penalty. I'm glad GT will be penalising these players.

I'm not all that interested in VR so this doesn't really affect me personally, but I hope for Sony's sake that this is not the case.

The main defence for the Neo's existence is that the old PS4 will still be a viable way to play, all games compatible, nothing forcing an upgrade. But if the OG PS4 ends up struggling with VR while the Neo runs fine, that won't be the case, and you'll have a lot of annoyed consumers...

Movies and novels chuck up horrendously cliche, overdone, and poorly structured narratives all the time. Why is it such a noteworthy thing when video games do it?

Many people won't take narrative-driven games seriously because a) they personally believe that it is an inferior medium with which to tell a story, or b) because they are not interested in video games. There's not much you can do to get those people invested.

My issue isn't whether the person playing sucked. It's not even that a big name gaming site knowingly uploaded terrible gameplay to demonstrate the game, giving a false impression.

It's the fact that Polygon have acted as if all the criticism is unwarranted, and that it's just "angry gamers being exclusionary" or something. If you mess up and apologise, and vow to ensure it doesn't happen again, people tend to forgive and forget. But insisting ...

The way I look at it:

Those who say "git gud" should instead be more understanding that different people view challenge in different ways. Some people have high anxiety, and struggle with difficult games on an emotional level. Some don't have certain skills. Don't act elitist; be understanding of their predicament. You're just stroking your own ego.

But at the same time, I believe all game developers should be able to make their game...

I assume you're talking about a rather infamous MLG tournament where 5 Bobs made the top 8... That tourney in particular made Tekken 6 look bad... Bob was extremely popular in the US. Compare that to Korea and Japan, which is even higher level, and Bob actually wasn't used all that much. Even characters like Kuma and Asuka who are considered low tier in T6 have done well in high level tourneys. There are tiers, yes, and Bob is top tier, (mostly thanks...

From what I understand, they are still adding characters to the arcade version of Tekken 7 Fated Retribution, as many fan faves are still missing from the roster. (Lee, Lei, Eddy, Bob, Anna, Raven, Marduk, Kuma, Zafina, Anna, Wang, Ganryu, Roger, Miguel etc...) Though not all will return, they're working on adding more.

Also, they need time for the pros to get to grips with all the characters and allow them to find broken stuff, or find glaring weaknesses in certain cha...

I could understand if they wanted to tweak durability, i.e. reduce degradation rate but also reduce item drop rate to balance out, but removing it altogether has me worried the game will just end up being super easy casual bait after such a promising alpha. :(
