A brand new Klonoa would blow my mind! It surprises me that not many people talk about Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil since I actually consider it to be better than the first game. King of Sorrow FTW. :)
Anyway, I hope platformers come back with a vengeance this gen. Really looking forward to Yooka Laylee and Psychonauts 2.
Yeah, same here, and even then, sometimes the hardest difficulty is still really easy. And then other times a game's hard mode is just ridiculous, requiring you to memorise everything in the game, or putting in enemies with broken AI, or requiring constant cheap tactics or luck to progress. Hard and challenging are two different things, something that Dark Souls demonstrates very well.
Hardest game I've played this year by far is Trackmania Turbo. Getting gold on so...
These games are considered difficult because they lack the hand-holding, ultra forgiving nature of most modern games. At the same time, they are easier than a lot of hard modes because they lack the unrealistic, BS, "cheat the system" methods that many hard modes require. In reality, these games reward those with patience, forward planning, aptitude for experimentation, careful observation, and the ability to act under pressure. These things have been lost in the gaming world for th...
I own every game in the series and my top 10 would be as follows:
1. A Crack in Time
2. Ratchet and Clank 3
3. Ratchet and Clank (2002)
4. Ratchet and Clank (2016)
5. Tools of Destruction
6. All 4 One
7. Ratchet and Clank 2
8. Secret Agent Clank
9. Size Matters
10. Nexus
And yeah, despite it being one of my favourite series of all time, the only one I'd call a "...
Top 5 WORST weapons: (Because why not? :P )
1. Zodiac (Extremely limited ammo, ridiculously expensive, super slow to fire, yet it's wholly ineffective against larger enemies. This weapon was a genuine detriment to my gaming experience)
2. Hoverbomb Launcher (Remember this one? Thought not. Fire a bomb that ever so slowly hovers forward... instead of, you know, just shooting them)
3. Taunter (Very limited use, pretty much pointless)
4. Plasm...
1. Ryno (A Crack in Time version)
2. Suck Cannon
3. Mr. Zurkon
4. Groovitron Glove
5. Quack-o-Ray (upgraded to kamikaze ducks)
The demo kicked my ass and I loved every second of it. I find myself using spear weapons mainly, with an axe for the bigger enemies. My only main gripe would be the lack of enemy variety, but then again, this is only a demo.
"Mistake." Yeah... Sure...
It's people like this that tarnish the notion of hardcore girl gamers, despite there being plenty out there.
A couple years ago there was a segment for a UK lads magazine (I forget which) where female Call of Duty players get mini segments where they talk about why they love it, their fave weapons etc. My brother's girlfriend, an actual gamer, signed up and got a chance to speak to some of them and was disappo...
With the exception of number 1, I have to disagree with this list.
There is nothing wrong with games having dedicated save points. It's not just an outdated mechanic in need of updating, it's a design choice that makes sense for certain games.
Fast travel isn't a necessity either. Again, it's down to the design of the game.
I can understand why some might not like mute protagonists, but again, some games can pull it o...
I love the Souls games, but I think a new IP is the right way to go. The legendary series has earned its rest... Show us what else you can do, Miyazaki! I'll be waiting with bated breath. :)
It's insane how popular this series has become, from its humble beginnings as a niche, Japan only game that Sony refused to publish in the west because they thought it would never sell...
As for the comics, I think I'll wait for reviews to come out and maybe pick up the trade paperback in the future if the reception is good. I'm not sure how well this series could translate into a comic, but I'm still intrigued.
Is this the part where people claim that devs should make every game for every system because they'll just make more money, and there are no drawbacks whatsoever, and devs who make exclusives out of choice are idiots who are committing financial suicide?
It's funny when people speak nonsense, especially when port-begging tears stream from their eyes. ;)
The last great Vita game? Nonsense. Even if they mean last great exclusive game, we still have Shiren The Wanderer and Yomawari confirmed for this year, plus there's a huge amount of Japanese Vita exclusives just waiting to be localised. Net High hasn't had an official announcement but with the English trophies leaked, it's pretty much a dead cert, and other games are pretty much just waiting for a publisher eg Tokyo Xanadu, Caligula, Uppers, Rose and The Castle of Twilight, Cladu...
It just seems odd for Sony to want to do this, especially since they're launching PSVR this year, and a bunch of big exclusives are coming. The timing just seems off. Who is going to buy all of this?
I have my reservations but I hope Sony knows what they are doing.
Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Drake and Elena plan their ninth wedding in the city of Atlantis after trying to find the fabled "missing link" in the ruins of Qualopec. However, they must flee the Abominable Snowman armed with nothing but the staff of Osiris and Excalibur, until they stumble across a goose that lays golden eggs in the tomb of Tutankhamun. They soon travel back home in a raft made from Noah's Ark and bathe in the Fountain of Youth as the credits roll.
"PC gaming is too expensive!"
"I'm fine without better graphics!"
*One year later*
"Yay! I'm totally getting a Neo! It's only a couple hundred dollars after PS4 trade in! Can't wait for those sweet extra pixels!"
If gaming takes a turn I don't like I'm content with just playing older games. I already have a pretty big backlog, and there are still numerous older games on the PS3, PSP and PS2 that I never got around to playing, plus I've always had an interest in the 3DS but never owned one. I could keep gaming for over a decade after this gen without buying any new releases, and I'd be perfectly fine with that.
But even without the Neo they wouldn't be "coasting." They already have a crap ton of exclusives coming up, plus PS VR. The Neo just seems like overkill at this point; how many people will be able to buy all this? That's the risk that Sony faces.
And I don't know what you mean about gamers only getting pissed off for a week. People were pissed at Sony for YEARS after the disastrous launch of the PS3 and it took a whole lot of work and umpteen quality ...
Ratchet and Trackmania are better than most full price games. No, scratch that. They're better than most full price games, plus the overpriced DLC and season passes on top.
I feel bad because I only bought Trackmania on a whim, partly because it was just £25 and I wanted to mess around with the track editor. Cut to today... and I'm absolutely hooked. Currently have gold on events 1-169. The red + black series are hard as hell but I'm loving it. I refuse to ...
