So much truth in your comment! You really hit the nail on the head, especially with regards to optimisation. When the Neo hits, are devs really going to try and push the power of the PS4? Or maybe devs won't see the point in adding anything for the Neo version. What's the point if they still get your money, regardless of which system you own?
And like you said, people this gen seem so dissatisfied with graphics it's unreal. I just don't understand it. I als...
It's worse than that. It won't be upgrading, it'll be swapping in a console for a slightly more powerful one, and spending a ton in between. Game retailers are already struggling against sites like Amazon and digital sales; do people really think they'll be able to trade in a PS4 and stroll out with a Neo for cheap? Unlikely. Those small graphical upgrades for the exact same games will surely be worth it! All while telling PC gamers that graphics don't matter that much... ...
I'm about 6 hours in and I'm absolutely loving it. Easily the best R+C game since A Crack in Time.
The only things that would make me consider buying are the following:
- Exclusive content
- Games running acceptably while the OG PS4 runs them poorly
But then again, these things would be an absolute kick in the teeth to PS4 owners and make me question Sony's entire philosophy, and consider not buying their next system for fear of being screwed again. So basically, either they offer tiny upgrades with all the same content and produce someth...
I personally prefer DS3, but both games are incredible.
I love the Vita, and I love it when devs devote themselves to it and produce exclusives for the system in a day when people call it "dead." I love supporting devs who take it upon themselves to prove that the system is alive and kicking. I really do.
However, unfortunately, I cannot justify buying a game I have no interest in. I have never, ever liked games using touch-heavy control systems, (one of the main reasons I don't play mobile games) and from the gam...
A Disgaea board game would be awesome! :D
The thing is, it really wouldn't be all that simple to just make an easy mode. There are many, many different aspects to the gameplay affect the challenge, not just 'enemy damage' or 'boss health.' You have traps, the risk of rolling off a cliff, losing souls after death, no map, no objective menu, no flashing arrows for shortcuts, the need for various items, no pause button, the need to prepare for different areas, status effects, hidden areas, limited checkpoints, limite...
GTA is basically one massive satire of American culture. If they tried satirising somewhere besides US or UK, they'd get called racist.
I still have tons of Vita games in my backlog and more coming out this year like Stranger of Sword City, Siren The Wanderer, God Eater 2, Zero Time Dilemma, Yomawari... Plus there's a bunch of Japanese games that are just waiting to be localised like Net High and all the DRPGs like Mary Skelter and Coven. I play my Vita constantly and will continue to do so for a long time. :)
And yet every enemy in every mission is a guy. But that's just fine, right?
I mean, I don't really have a problem with that. It is, after all, just a fictional game. But when people act like killing ONE woman in a game is an example of sexism, and then say things like "people don't even know they're sexist," it riles me up. Look in the damn mirror!
The only one I played was Blood Drive on the Vita. Trying to describe my experience is difficult... I mean, several aspects of the game suck. The gameplay is pretty simple, the areas get reused, and there's even a loading screen to open the inventory! But the story, the atmosphere, the music, the creepiness, the horrific imagery in the bad endings that would make Silent Hill crap itself... It dug its claws in tight and wouldn't let me go until the final credits. Not the most polished ...
If The Last Guardian, Persona 5, Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, Star Ocean 5, Gravity Rush 2 and Danganronpa 3 were all coming exclusively to Xbox One, guess what? I'd buy an Xbox One in a heartbeat. Exclusives DO matter.
The Adventures of Cookie and Cream (Or Kuri Kuri Mix as is known in PAL territories) is actually a pretty good game, and gets damn hard in the latter stages.
I'd love to see FromSoft make King's Field 5, or maybe another Armoured Core. I love the Souls games, but I don't want to see it milked for all its worth.
I remember when I played a demo for the first game and the graphics blew me away. I would spend ages watching all the flying cars and admiring the cityscape.
We've come so far, and in a way, I find it kind of sad. All that work that went into the PS2 games, and nowadays people can look at them and say they look like crap. Expectations are just so high, and they'll only get higher... Sometimes I like to transport myself back to when I was a teenager and admire the lit...

When I was younger I asked my mother if I could play Devil May Cry. She legitimately thought it was a game about devil worship... It took some convincing that I wasn't going to become a satanist before I could play it.
I also remember when I asked for GTA Vice City for Xmas when I was 16. I explained the game was an 18+, and she said she was fine with it. Then she saw the game and was like, "There are swear words in this! And prostitutes! That's awful!" Beca...
It's barely even started! This year alone has some absolutely massive heavy-hitters and the future looks pretty bright.
I will say that I think Demon's Souls still has the best atmosphere of all of From's games, with the Tower of Latria being a personal highlight.
However, my favourite of the series has to be Dark Souls. I much prefer having one massive world as opposed to a hub, and the Estus Flask system was a big improvement from farming moon grasses.
Yup, I think you're right. People need to really learn to put their money where their mouth is, but instead they'll keep buying season passes while complaining about them because they just can't help themselves. And then they'll complain about the lack of variety in games while continuing to buy EA/Ubisoft games on day one and waiting for the other stuff to hit PSN+ for free. You know who you are...
