You make a good point; plenty of franchises has changed drastically over the years and managed to remain successful. It's all about execution.
Remember back when the PS3 was trailing and Sony reminded everyone, "this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon," and proceeded to flood the market with great exclusive after great exclusive right up until the console's twilight years, eventually outselling the 360. Imagine if, instead, they said "sales don't matter," and proceeded to plod along. My faith in Sony would have disintegrated.
It almost sounds as if Microsoft is resigning themselve...
So video games rated 16/18+ could well be labelled for "sexist" content, but pornography is still okay, no issues there. A digital fake woman with large breasts is so much worse than footage of a teenager getting pounded against a headboard.
Oh, and why no calling for sexist depiction of men? I look at Ryu and Ken's muscular bodies and it triggers me because I don't look like them. Even Dan, a joke character made to be a loser is way more buff than I am. I...
Weapons have been confirmed, and the demo has an aim assist option, hinting at guns in the full game. I don't think it'll be like Outlast. (I hope not...)
Some negative opinions, but let's face it, no matter what Capcom did it would annoy some fans. The fanbase has been spread out over the course of two decades, all with different entry points and favourites from the series. Capcom could never, ever please everyone. At least this one won't disappoint everyone like Resident Evil 6.
All I can say is, as someone who was excited for Silent Hills, I can't think of a better successor to that idea than the series that s...
Renegade option EVERY TIME. :P
Also, to reflect the sport realistically you should have a "pretend you got fouled and roll around on the floor in supposed agony" button for the true football experience. Also, a minigame where you try and cover up a player's drug addiction or affair would be good.
Hopefully my mind will be changed. Most generations don't hit their stride until a few years in, after all. It's just that, for years and years I kept feeling that gaming was simply getting better as time went on, but this gen that feeling has stopped dead.
With that said, I think handheld gaming has improved from last gen, in part due to many more Japanese games getting localised, and simultaneous console/handheld releases where the handheld version has all the sa...
I may be alone here, but I would love to see a King's Field 5.
Gaming peaked last gen. Since then it hasn't stepped up the game.
Looking forward to this. Reviews have been kind of mixed, but then, the same was true of the previous game, and I loved it. :)
Until Dawn is one of those rare games that totally surpassed my initial eexpectations. When I first saw the E3 demo I thought it was going to suck, but actually it's a very good game. I'd say get it if you're interested. :)
The aspect I like the most is that, no matter which choice you make, if one of your characters gets injured or dies, your save file is overwritten and you're forced to stick with the consequences of your actions. No checkpoint restarts; y...
*Sigh* What is it with game journos (random bloggers) thinking a good click-bait headline is to rile people up by telling them their opinions are wrong? What's with so many of them telling people to agree with their viewpoint?
This is almost as bad as the articles telling people that Crash Bandicoot/ Old school survival horror/ turn-based battles suck, and anyone who disagrees is just wrong, or lying, or addled with crippling nostalgia. Come on, guys. You can do better...
Having more money than time can rather annoying. Despite my best efforts, I currently have a backlog of 19 games, with several releases in the coming months. Many of the games in my backlog are also 40+ hour RPGs. I'm also the type to fully commit myself to completing a game, only ever quitting if I just plain don't like it. And now I've gotten back into reading books, so that's more free time not spent gaming.
Despite this, I do appreciate long games. Ther...
My most unpopular opinion that makes people rage is...
(Brace yourselves)
I don't like Half Life 2.
Despite its revolutionary physics engine, lip-syncing, great music, and visuals that still look nice even today... I just didn't enjoy it all that much. I hated the vehicle sections, hated the utter BS ending, could not get myself involved in the story (silent Gordon Freeman was 10 times as awkward than in the original), thought ...
If romance can be portrayed well through a series of static pictures and speech bubbles then yes, it can absolutely be portrayed well in games.
Yes, but I've seen comments from tons of people on YouTube who say they hate the direction of the new Cod, think keeping MW Remastered exclusive to the legacy edition is a dick move, that Activision is just milking them, but they're going to buy it anyway because they want MW Remastered. And that's just the people who are being open about it. I guarantee many gamers who say they won't get it and down-voted the trailer will put down a pre-order.
Also, I'...
I had a friend who played MGS3 and would constantly skip cutscenes and code calls because he was bored. Then he was constantly asking "who the hell is this" or "why am I here?" It was the most infuriating thing ever.
Mine would be:
The Last Guardian
Ni No Kuni II
Horizon: Zero Dawn
Nioh
Gravity Rush 2
I'm so tempted by this game, but my backlog is already pretty big. Curse my lack of time!
