Yes, but it does show potential. (Also, the demo does have an end point for completion, people are already speed running it) As for "objectives" I sincerely hope the final game only includes items to collect, like chaos emerald shards. If they start putting NPCs and side-quests into it then it'll be ruined.
I love how people are arguing that it's an issue because it's in a VR game, where there's so much more immersion... in a game where you play as a floating helmet with disembodied hands. Yup, REALLY immersed in this eerily realistic world.
In the end, stories like this only end up trivialising what is a very serious issue. I'm sure women who have experienced ACTUAL sexual assault are burying their heads into their hands over this victim-complex attention seek...
The retro-futuristic aesthetic alone is, I felt, one of the game's strong points, and one that wouldn't have been easily justifiable without attributing it to the Alien franchise.
As for the game "dragging on" I didn't personally feel that way, and was pleasantly surprised by its considerable length, since so many games these days are over and done with in 6-8 hours. -_- The change of pace and switching up of gameplay style was, IMO, a big plus. (Play...
PS4 version: "OMG I saw a jaggy! Over there! If you zoom in really far! And now I can make out the pixels if I sit two feet in front of the screen! 5/10 Mediocre."
Pro version: "It looks incredible! Amazing! Fantastic! 11/10 GOTY."
Yeah... I think not.
Damn straight. How the menu can lag like that when it's only loading a few poxy pictures is beyond me.
No, but the marketing and price definitely were.
You can blame gamers for "hyping themselves" all you want, the fact is, NMS was continuously misrepresented in its game demos. Just watch the Colbert video, with pre-rendered footage that looks NOTHING like the final game, and Sean holding a controller to make people believe he was actually playing it.
If they'd just marketed it as a nifty little survival game with procedural generation at hal...
Tons of new IPs are successful but no, let's focus on one game that CLEARLY didn't sell poorly because of the micro transactions, double season passes or mixed reviews and claim it speaks for all new IPs.
What did you think of Crimes and Punishments? Although I definitely like TDD I found C&P to be better overall. The Roman Bath and Kew Garden cases were amazing...
Noooooo! Make Crimes and Punishments your first! Not only is it better than Devil's Daughter it'll be cheaper as well! I cannot stress this enough!
Reading books helped turn me AWAY from writing. XD
I read Moby Dick and had my mind obliterated by Melville's extraordinary writing craft. I knew then that every attempt I'd ever made at writing was just utter crap, and that I should just give up and stick to my day job.
Let them take their time, no need to rush greatness.
The original Dark Souls did this to me as well. For several months after I beat it, nothing else was good enough and it really depressed me. It was as if I'd spent a month in nirvana, finally seeing things I'd never imagined, heights I never thought could be reached, feelings I never thought possible, and then came crashing down into the mud with every other game. No other game has ever done this to me in my 25 years of playing games, so it's an easy choice for my favourite game o...
£15 for a 30 minute trial? What the actual f***!?
Personally, I didn't like Red Dead Redemption all that much, but I can understand Rockstar mixing things up instead of just doing GTA.
Modnation Racers was one of my favourite games on PS3. Sad to hear this is happening. :(
I should bloody well hope so! XD
But seriously, I'm looking forward to this. It's been a long, long time since an online FPS has had me interested. The praise the campaign is getting is also a pleasant surprise, and one that tipped me over the edge into getting this day one.
If I buy a digital game I don't feel like I really own it. Having a physical copy is definitely my preference, and I'll only ever consider digital-only games if the price is low.
I guess I'm in the minority then. For me it goes:
Oblivion > Morrowind >>>>>>> Skyrim
I agree Morrowind is a timeless classic with one of the greatest game worlds ever created, but I found Oblivion had more interesting side-quests and was more enjoyable overall. Skyrim, on the other hand, I got bored of reeeally quickly and left to collect dust. I'm hoping ESVI will take place in Black Marsh, always wanted to go there. May...
Dirt Rally on VR would be terrifying!
I can't help remembering what it was like before the game released. Hopes were high, and people were expecting NMS to be a livestream darling, with all kinds of crazy stuff being found and people reporting interesting worlds they'd discovered. But none of that ever happened. It's kind of tragic, really.
