I'd say you're half right.
There are many fans (like myself) who don't like the new direction and probably won't buy it, considering how many other great games are coming out in 2017 that warrant our time and money.
There are also fans who genuinely like the new direction and want to play the game, even if it is different from previous games.
Then there are other fans who are buying it because of some idiotic quest to ...
Glad to hear this. I loved VC 1+2 but I'm just not sold on Revolution. Looks like more of a Musou style game, not my cup of tea. I'd love for them to revisit the original series with its classic gameplay.
Or, you know... you could just localise VC3? Pretty please?
NMS taught me that plenty of gaming apologists are completely okay with developers openly lying about game content to build hype, provided they attempted something that could be considered ambitious.
In other news, I'm working on a photo-realistic racing game with over 200 tracks, 1800 cars, a track creator, real world weather effects and an epic campaign with pit crew management and a variety of racing career options. But y'know, with my team being small and all, ...
From my perspective, the Switch's strength could very well be its weakness.
It'll be the go to system for all Nintendo games going forward, whether they were previously console or handheld centric. So that's good.
But... it'll be underpowered for a home console and have the worst 3rd party support, and as a handheld the thing is massive, not something you can slip into your pocket or just pop into a bag. I'm a big fan of handheld gamin...
Just to be clear, this is not a first party title from Sony, it's a third party title from Experience. (Well known for Vita DRPGs.) Just in case anyone thought hell had frozen over and Sony were working on a Vita exclusive.
Strap on your miniskirt, step into your favourite pantsu, grab your onii-chan and get ready to yelp sexually during battle! Is this game on the Vita? You'd better flippin' believe it!
In all seriousness, I hope this gets localised with physical Vita version. :)
Everyone's calling him ungrateful and a brat, but be honest, as a little kid, if you were looking forward to something for months, and believed without doubt you'd be getting it for Xmas, wouldn't you be really flippin' upset?
But no, let's make assumptions about the author and insult him. Let's talk about all the good Saturn games and pretend that the PlayStation wasn't leaps and bounds ahead of it. Let's pretend it was a perfectly reasonab...
I love the Vita and would almost certainly buy its successor...
But realistically, I doubt Sony will take another stab at handheld gaming. It's just too risky a venture. A shame, really. :( I prefer handheld to console gaming.
I still need to get Steins Gate Zero! Loved the first one. (Way better than the anime adaptation...)
Okay, what's going on? People are hyping the demo up but I just played it, and it was wholly underwhelming. Not much of either substance or style with the gameplay, the graphics look like a PS3 game, and there's little to be said about the game's art style. Music's good, that's about it. It can't just be me, right? :(
Gravity Rush 2, Nioh and Horizon in the space of 2 months, and I'm still trying to catch up on 2016's releases... ;_;
I find your perspective a refreshing and welcome one. :) A lot of PC guys seem to want consoles eradicated or for their worth to be nullified. When really the simple answer is to just buy the systems that have the games you are interested in.
Back in the 90's the disparity between PC and the different consoles was bigger than it's ever been since, but nobody gave a damn. You played on the systems that had the games you wanted. During that era I played games on both...
Now the narrative is that "big mean Sony" won't let peace and harmony spread throughout the world because they SELFISHLY enact sinful rituals of greed by not putting their games on PC, while MS is threading daisy chains and creating heaven on earth for ALL people by putting Xbox games on PC.
It's frickin' hilarious. XD
Many Japanese developers release games exclusive to PlayStation Platforms in droves BY CHOICE, without any financial backing from Sony in any way, shape or form.
Hell, even the Vita is seeing third party exclusives, despite its low install base. Unless you want to try and convince me that Sony passed a briefcase full of money across the table to see games like Gal Gun: Double Peace, Mary Skelter Nightmares and Omega Labyrinth exclusive to their systems...
...
My top 5 games this year:
1. Dark Souls 3
2. Uncharted 4
3. The Last Guardian
4. Trackmania Turbo
5. Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
Honourable mentions: Ratchet and Clank, Zero Time Dilemma
(Oh, and haven't gotten around to Steins; Gate Zero, Dishonored 2, Shiren The Wanderer: Tower of Fortune or Doom yet, they could potentially make this list)
Agreed. I waited years for this game and it lived up to the hype IMO, and definitely deserves to stand beside Ico and SoTC as one of the best games ever made. 9/10 from me too. :)
How the hell does 7/10 not equal a good game? Why even have a 10 point scale if anything below 8 is considered a waste of time? It just boggles the mind.
The way I see it, anything from 7 - 10 is worth buying. A 6/10 is decent, maybe not worth full price, but worth a look if it's cheap. 5/10 is mediocre and not really worth playing, 4 and below are varying levels of bad.
Yes, because the amount of money you earn is directly linked to your value as a human being, and if you are careful, you will always have money... (You really are an utter c***)
The reason I may be unable to buy all the games I want might be because I'm having to pay a huge amount towards my stepfather's funeral since my Mum has had to take unpaid leave from work so can barely afford to feed herself. So yeah, I'd better take a good hard look in the mirror, like ...
FFX-2 has an all female cast, obviously to appeal to men!
FFXV has an all male cast, obviously to appeal to men!
Wow, such sexism in this industry. Whatever shall we do?
-_-
I still really enjoyed it, but yeah, Human Revolution was definitely a cut above Mankind Divided in terms of story and content. Plus MD had numerous bugs on release that completely halted progress, requiring numerous patches.
