Naughty Dog is arguably Sony's biggest trump card. Forcing them to make another game in a series that came to a pretty conclusive end would be stupid. Letting Naughty Dog do what they want is the best thing they can do. Having a wide variety of different titles with ambitious new IPs is PlayStation's biggest appeal, especially in the face of HaloForzaGears on infinite loop.
I don't mind easy games, provided the experience is actually enhanced by this. (Eg something like Tearaway is meant to be a serene, playful experience) But for any game trying to be pulse pounding, intense, or terrifying, there NEEDS to be the threat of a fail state that cannot be undone with the click of a button. I don't think Itagaki is crazy for making a Wii U exclusive.
I think he's crazy for pushing out a half baked, flawed as all hell, generic gore fest on the Wii U without making use of any of the console's specific features, and throwing his toys out of the pram when people criticise it.
This has to be the first time in ages that I literally don't know what to expect from a console release. It could flop horribly, it could sell like hotcakes, and I wouldn't be at all surprised either way.
I have met people who genuinely act like the typical crazy arrogant fanboys in real life.

It's a far cry from when I was a kid.
I had a PlayStation, my Dad gamed on PC, my friend across the road had an N64, and my cousins had a Sega Saturn. I got to play a multitude of games on different systems, and it was great. But then the PS2/Xbox/GC era happened, and gaming suddenly got tribal...
One game that was criminally overlooked was Shiren The Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and The Dice of Fate.
I'm aware the SNES was capable of less, but that doesn't matter. My point still stands. If a game was released on Atari 2600 I'm not going to pretend it's amazing just because the 2600 was a really weak console. I like to view games as they are, by the same standard. Otherwise I'm saying "This game is really good, but only if you played it at the time." I think true classics stay great for decades. In fact, some of my favourite games of all time are over 15 years...
Persona 5, Ni No Kuni 2, Tokyo Xanadu, Nioh and Mary Skelter: Nightmares are the ones I'm looking forward to the most.
While I think FF6 is still a very good game, for me personally it isn't the best FF for a few reasons:
- The environment lacks variety, with towns and dungeons often looking the same.
- You can succeed very easily for most of the game by using certain character skills over and over again, with little reason to mix things up and get creative.
- Most of the boss fights, at least IMO, didn't feel all that epic or exciting.

I don't think I'll ever be as disappointed as I was with MGSV.
I love love LOVE the Metal Gear series, with MGS 1, 2, 3 and 4 being some of my favourite games of all time, Peace Walker a damn good game and one of the PSP's best, Ground Zeroes showed some promise with its evolution of controls, core mechanics and some pretty impressive level design... Then TPP came and dashed all my hopes and dreams. I honestly wish I'd never played it.
I completely flippin' forgot about RE7! God damn, there's just too many games coming out. I wish I could get them all but I won't be able to... ;_;
My top 5 most anticipated as of right now:
1. Persona 5 (Sequel to the greatest traditional JRPG of the past decade? Yes please!)
2. Tekken 7 (Now that Kuma has been confirmed, let's just say the Avatar of Chaos will return...)
