I wouldn't expect games to cost quite this much, as the RRP is usually undercut but online and high street retailers.

But...

They will still be expensive. I expect about £50-55, which is pretty ridiculous. And knowing the trend with the Wii U, games will either take an age to come down in price, or just won't get a price cut at all.

Every step you take...
Every move you make...

You show your utter incompetence and lack of awareness. Seriously, Nintendo. You are already this late in the game, you've made a pitiful number of systems available for pre-order, your launch lineup is tepid at best, and now you want people to enjoy an online service that is somehow below everyone's limbo-bar expectations. This will be the Wii U all over again, and you are the only ones to blame. Your exclusive...

I love handhelds. I love being able to pop a system into my bag and take my games on the go. I love having the freedom to play games at work, on the train, on a plane, or wherever.

I have no interest in the Switch.

As a handheld, that thing is massive, and the battery life is dismal. You can easily pop a 3DS in your pocket. Vita is a bit bigger, but it's still not beyond popping it in your bag and pulling out at a moment's notice. The Switch is ...

Yeah, but it's not very portable... Compare it to the 3DS, a system you can literally fit in your pocket. Heck, some people even think the Vita is a little too bulky. The Switch is absolutely massive. As a handheld fanatic, this turns me right off.

I'm anything but a Nintendo fan and even I can recognise that the Switch launch lineup is pretty good, especially when you compare it to what PS4 and Xbox One had at launch. I'm sure though I'll get called a Nintendo fanboy...

Edit: Okay, seems like I was wrong. There were a few titles I thought were launch games, but they're just slated for this year. Whoops.

I bet it's absolutely terrifying in VR...

I hate the term "overrated."

There isn't a single game on the face of the earth that will be loved by all gamers; that's just how it is. "Overrated" sounds like a way to undermine people who, god forbid, played a popular game and really enjoyed it.

Sad to hear this. The Medievil series is classic, and I absolutely loved KZ Mercenary. (Thought it was better than Shadowfall, especially the multi-player) I hope they can all find new jobs soon.

Well you'd better cancel some of them because that's "good for gamers." XD

So basically it's a good thing because it might not have been a very good game? And you use No Man's Sky as an example? Scalebound wasn't directed by Peter Moleyneux 2.0, it was directed by Hideki Fecking Kamiya.

I think it's good. For many years, game reviewers were handing out 9s and 10s like candy, and 7 was considered "meh." I look back through my collection of old PS1 and PS2 magazines and this is instantly apparent.

If there's one thing this gen has over previous ones, it's that reviewers are being harsher with their scores, and not just handing out a high one simply because they enjoyed it, or the hype was there. Some still do, but overall, it's got...

It's already been confirmed for the west, both physical and digital.

I regularly play PS1 and PS2 games. Some of the best games I've played in the last few years were for PS1 and PS2, in fact. (Better than a lot of the crap released these days)

And I've replayed many of my childhood favourites. The Spyro trilogy, Klonoa 1 and 2, Oddworld, plus tons of Mega Drive games. If I ever run out of money for games in the future I'd happily come back to my favourites, and if I ever have kids I can allow them to experience them.

Absolutely. I only ever get digital games if they're free on PS+.

If gaming goes all digital, that's fine. I'll just buy some of the systems I never got around to playing on like the 3DS, Wii U etc. My backlog is big enough as it is and I don't give a damn about keeping up with the new and popular games all the "cool kids" are playing.

How is it a good thing? Just because you prefer digital doesn't make it better for everyone.

If there's a market for physical games, they will still sell them. Whether you think people should "move with the times" is irrelevant. The times move where the money goes. The resurgence and impressive sales of vinyl records is proof of that.

Not sure what I could possibly be salty about. I'm saying too often I see articles on N4G that use the term "exclusive" to describe games that are on more than 1 platform. "Top 10 exclusive Xbox/PS4 games" then it lists a bunch of games also on PC or Vita. I'm the one being completely objective here while everyone else gets all fanboy about it.

3437d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

It's refreshing to see an article use the word "exclusive" and actually mean what they say. None of this "Quantum Break is an Xbox exclusive," "Street Fighter V is a PS4 exclusive," nonsense.

Keep bending the meaning of that word and pretending the PC and console markets don't overlap to suit your fanboy list wars, PS4/XBO fans...

The No Man's Sky fallout has to be one of my favourite experiences within the gaming community. Watching as people defended it with their lives, rolled out the always idiotic "you hyped yourselves too much!" excuse, refused to believe that Sean Murray was lying, calling it a masterpiece while copies of the game piled up in game stores as they were traded in, claiming you didn't reach the true ending until you reached the center of the universe, so keep playing for hundreds o...

I can't wait to play all the games I bought in 2016 that I haven't gotten around to playing yet! I need to get my backlog down to 10 games. That is my goal... (Not gonna happen though XD)
