Final Fantasy 6
Not that the game is bad, or anything. In fact I'd say it's one of the best in the series and one of the best JRPGs of its era, but the sheer reverance the game holds in the FF fandom is unreal, as if the game is both a masterpiece of storytelling to rival the greatest literary works and a peerless RPG system with perfect combat and progression that none have surpassed.
If you're about to converse with members of the FF fandom...
Totally agree with you there. TEW2 was brilliant, especially on nightmare mode. A real surprise for me. I loved the first game but the second one knocked it out of the park.
Does RE2 have MTs? Serious question. I haven't been keeping up with news on this game.
A comment I regularly see from people is something along the lines of "If you care about story so much, read a book!" As someone who spends about as much time reading books as I do playing games, if not more, I find that a rather narrow-minded thing to say. Every medium has its own strengths and weaknesses when it comes to storytelling and every single one is more than viable. Sure, some people will favour certain mediums above others; that's what preferences are, but then you h...
How dare Eurogamer be honest instead of curtailing to the masses and picking GoW, Red Dead, Smash or Spiderman? How very dare they have opinions of their own?
To be fair I have been meaning to buy this, but my backlog is too big right now.
I'm in the process of playing and the game is pretty entertaining IMO.
Yup. Indies get a bad rap but they usually have more heart and soul put into them than the average AAA schlock.
And if it does it shall be glorious.
Almost every gamer I speak to says they have a stack of games or a mountainous steam library that they just can't get around to. So how about we all do the sensible, logical thing and stop buying games until that backlog is gone completely.
Hmm... I wonder what would happen... ;)
Ahahahahaha!
Can't wait to see this fail.
"So I've read on the internet that our support site has a few bugs."
Do they need to? No. Would I like to see one? Yes. I love handheld gaming.
HOWEVER, Sony would need to learn the valuable lesson to actually support their handheld. Even with the PSP people criticised Sony for not supporting it much after the first 2 years. Then with the Vita the support dropped the instant the PS4 hit and never came back. I love my PSP and Vita, still play them to this day, but Sony's support was always poor. Compare that to Nintendo who treated the DS...
I'll remain cautiously optimistic. To do a good job they need for him to be ridiculously powerful while also having satisfying combat. That can't be easy, but I really hope they pull it off.
Step one: Release game with tons of issues at launch.
Intermission: Many gamers don't bother to buy games on day one.
Step two: Release next game to even lower sales and drop the price in a panic.
Intermission: Even MORE gamers don't buy games on day one.
Step three: Release next game to even LOWER sales.

The bubble is about to burst, guys and gals, and I can hardly wait. ;)
I didn't buy it because I'm sick of buggy launches like BF4 and BF1. I'll wait for six months or so. It'll probably get a price drop soon enough.
There's a big, big difference between TELLING and TEACHING.
What they tell us: "Pre order now! Get bonuses! Enjoy the game as soon as possible! Support the industry!"
What they teach us: "Never pre-order. Never. Not even if it's a developer with a good track record, or even if they've made some of the greatest games of all time. The price will drop quick enough and on launch the game will probably be buggy or have missing content anyway."
That used to be the case but the roles have completely flipped. Now Nintendo is allowing 18+ rated visual novels on their platform whereas Sony are censoring them to all hell, including censoring an 18+ visual so that it becomes RATED E FOR EVERYONE. https://nichegamer.com/2018... It's rated M on the Switch... This is after a new policy set by Sony that has affected many d...
Censorship is censorship, regardless of content. Nintendo isn't censoring these games, Sony is. It's the principle of it.
For me personally, the biggest detractor in FF6 is also its most important moment - Kefka tearing the world apart. It's a shocking, epic moment, and the desolation you feel when awaking as Celes on an impoverished island is certainly impactful. But once you get past that, it's an exercise in trotting across the world map and saying "we're getting the band back together" to whichever party member you find. Also, all the lore and world building up to that point is canned s...
