What a surprise. XD

It's not as if the vast majority of the gaming community could smell the putrid trash from a mile away. Then again a select few with poor brain function actually defended this piece of crap, saying it was their chosen system. I can only hope they come clean and apologize. (Since we know their usernames by now...)

"Do they not know there are thousands of more capable pieces of entertainment out there?"

This is always my first thought when people defend bad practices within the game industry, or any industry for that matter. "Loot boxes are a part of gaming now! Get used to it!" Etc. Meanwhile I'm playing game after game after game without any such nonsense. Plenty of games are released that are just genuinely great but are apparently invisible to those who def...

The "walking sim" comments are funny, in that, yes, there is a lot of walking from one place to the next, but a lot more thought goes into it than that. You don't just press forwards and wait until you get there. There's initial planning, considering how much equipment you'll need, planning a route, carefully clambering over mountainsides and rock formations, building structures to aid your journey, conserving battery usage, deciding the best course of action when up aga...

I want you to do a simple mind exercise.
if it wasn't a Hideo Kojima game, would you still be making erroneous claims that people were only convincing themselves they liked it?

MGSV was a Kojima game and I consider it one of the worst games I've played this gen, but I'm loving Death Stranding. 40 hours in and I can barely put it down. Yes, it is weird, but nothing on the level of Killer 7 or Gregory Horror Show, also games I love. Yes, I would still be...

Switch is honestly an astounding success story. When Nintendo first announced they'd be dropping Wii U and making a brand new system, my initial thought was "Good luck catching up to the competition. They've had a 3 year headstart." But lo and behold, they've almost outsold the Xbox One and Switch keeps topping monthly sales lists. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Don't worry. Were fragile, but we're not that fragile.

They're very different games, but for me personally I much, much prefer Death Stranding. 30 hours in so far and I'm still completely engrossed.

So are they saying asexuals DON'T lead a sexless lifestyle? I'm baffled.

I'm 20 hours in and still completely engrossed. I'd been in a gaming slump for months, unable to really gel with anything I played, giving up on games after a couple hours play, hardly gaming at all, then I take a gamble on this and instantly I'm back in the gaming saddle, struggling to put the controller down.

Funny. Back when MGSV came out I blasted it to no end and got called a Kojima hater. Now I'm loving Death Stranding and suddenly I'm a Kojima fanboy. Amazing how that works. :)

I don't see what the big deal is. I've made male avatars in some games, female avatars in others... I've not had an existential crisis over it.

I'm about 12 hours in so far and can't stop playing. I'm absolutely hooked! That said, I can tell very easily that this is NOT a game for everyone, and I'm not surprised that many are calling it boring considering how minimalistic much of it is.

I've been gaming since the Sega Master system and I think hype is a good thing. The rare occasions where something falls short and I feel disappointed is nothing compared to the immense excitement and satisfaction for the vast majority of the time. A world without hype would be a dull place indeed.

@naruga

Yeah, I've begun to feel the same way too about being able to judge whether to buy games, not just from review scores but having that "feel" when I come across something I think I'll enjoy.

With MGSV, I was really skeptical before going in. As someone who has loved every single MGS since the first on PS1, the idea of an open world Metal Gear rubbed me the wrong way, and I honestly thought the story could be given a rest at this p...

I don't see why you're being downvoted so much either. Bugs can of course influence the experience, but you can still have terrible games with very few bugs and great games that are kinda buggy.

Personally, I'd say a 1/10 is the only appropriate score for something that's near unplayable. A 5/10 should be for games that are okay, but not recommended.

I played the Vita version years back and this is a highly underrated horror game IMO.

I can remember first seeing gameplay for Metal Gear Solid 2 on the PS2, jaw almost to the floor, and thinking, "graphics can't get any better!" If I'd seen The Last of Us 2 I think my mind would have exploded. Because, I mean, that game looks amazing. Graphics can't get any better!

@rdgneoz

I put a winking face there to show it was a satirical post, but I guess it wasn't obvious enough.

I was emulating the same arguments people use when it comes to mature sexual content in games being censored, "You want anime tiddies? Go watch a porno!" and drawing a parallel to violence in games, which is widespread and accepted, to show the hypocrisy. I love violent games. And also sexy games. Dungeon Travelers 2 is one of my favour...

Yeah, people who want violence in games I have one thing to say: Go watch a slasher flick! Games don't NEED violence and people complaining about violent content being censored, championing "freedom of expression" are just blood-thirsty weebs who want to beat up virtual women. Just go to gorehub, people. To think people would actually be annoyed if violence was banned in games... Get a life, basement dweller!
