Tekken 3 Ogre had an 8 frame, unbreakable, inescapable throw setup (waning moon) that led to over 50% health bar damage if you did dash into d333. Plus he had strong mids so opponents who ducked the throw would get wrecked. Only Jin had a real chance against him because of Electric pressure, and even then Ogre still had a decent advantage. Jinpachi in T5 may have been BS (random interrupts that couldn't be anticipated) but he was at least unplayable. Ogre was playable and was beyond broke...
What a terrible list. As far as Tekken goes, Ogre from Tekken 3 is the most OP character the franchise has ever seen. (Was banned from almost all tournaments) Next is Jin from Tekken 4, who was so OP around 85% of tournament players used him thanks to his JFLS mixup and insane pressure. The 3rd most OP would be Steve from Tekken 5 who had an INFINITE COMBO if he sidestepped you at the right time. Eddy was a monster in Tag 2 but in almost every other game he's generally mid tier at best. ...
I appreciate the sentiment and I think having different and varied characters is good to see, but the idea that someone is unable to relate to or root for a character if they don't share their gender/race/sexuality is a little... insulting? Or maybe it really is true for some people, I don't know.
Not so much a game in particular, but a few years ago when I was trying to whittle down my backlog (it had gotten pretty massive) I would set myself certain targets, certain number of hours of play, a schedule of games in a particular order to mix up genres, and pushing myself to beat games so that I could move on to the next one and slash my backlog. It was better that way in some respects as it pushed me not to waste time doing nothing or watching random stuff on YouTube.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy. So... Both?
People seem to think that any time a gay/bi/black/trans/whatever character is put into a game that's immediately indicative of them pushing an agenda. It isn't. If the game is littered with political propaganda and centers around "smashing the Patriarchy" then sure, you could say it's pushing an agenda. But Ellie being a lesbian? Maybe they just decided her to be that way out of choice, just because they wanted to? It's really not that hard to conceive.
From Software did not develop 3D Dot Game Heroes. It was developed by Silicon Studio, same devs as Bravely Default.
People are being accused of playing it safe with unpopular gaming opinions so let me speak my mind and let out some feelings that will surely get tons of disagrees. Here we go. :)
My most unpopular opinion:
Half Life 2 isn't very good and would be a 6/10. And no, I don't mean "if you were to judge it if it was released today alongside modern games with improved visuals and shooting mechanics" I mean I don't think it was all that gre...
So because Ellie is a lesbian the game is "SJW cancer."
Please leave your bigotry elsewhere.
But I thought platformers wouldn't sell in the current gaming climate...
Hyped for Spyro Trilogy BTW. :)
A game that is age restricted for mature audiences only = A threat to children.
Were they in a time capsule for 20 years and only just woke up yesterday?
For the record, I've never played a CDPR game before and I'm actually happy that Cyberpunk is first person as I'm a fan of Deus Ex. One of my most anticipated games as of right now.
But I can't take you seriously at all when you start accusing people of not being "true fans" because they dislike a certain type of game. You can be a fan of a series or developer and still have misgivings about a direction they take. People who played and adored The Witcher ga...
I'd actually like to see an Elder Scrolls set in Black Marsh, home of the Argonians. It might not be glamorous but the rainforest and swamp settings could make for some interesting outdoor stealth opportunities and show off the visuals.
Damn, there goes my interest. :(
@Goldby
Okay, so he was a different character. But as for the voice being changed there's a cutscene in MGSV where Venom Snake rescues Hewey, who says, "Snake, is that you?" Venom Snake replies, "Doctor Emmerich..." and then and ONLY then does Hewey believe it to be the same Snake he met previously. (Big Boss) Despite having a completely different voice. Hewey also had no idea about the Switch with Big Boss, (He was captured while it was going on, it would'...
Yeah the trailer felt a bit awkward having them speak English in an era where the English language didn't even exist yet. XD Japanese voices will be a better fit for the setting.
The creator could've taken the first offer that came his way to make some money. Instead, he waited for a developer he trusted to do the license justice, because he cares about the quality of the final product. That kind of attitude should be praised as it shows a level of integrity. In an age where many gamers are willing to waive any and all business practices regardless of the end result because "people gotta make as much money as possible no matter what" it's about time ...
I was already hyped for 2077 when I saw the E3 trailer. When I learned it would be first person I became even MORE hyped. As a massive fan of the Deus Ex series (minus Invisible War) I feel I will be right at home.
That said, people who would prefer third person are completely entitled to their opinion. Gamers want different things, and that's okay. Labelling it as "b****ing" is a bit much IMO.
Personally, I have to wonder if they can'...
I have a feeling ND will put out a gameplay video soon showing someone actually playing the game with a controller, and demonstrating that every single facet of the E3 showing is 100% real, maybe mixing things up by having Ellie go full assault to show the difference. The only reason I think they refrained from doing that on stage was after Uncharted 4's showing when they encountered a bug and Drake fell through the terrain.
This reminds me of the time people said Driv...
More of an overarching one, but I find some gamers don't seem to understand that it's entirely possible to be a fan of two genres/games that are almost complete opposites from each other.
"Oh, you play Call of Duty? You must not like kid-friendly platformers!"
"Oh, you play walking simulators? You must not like fast-paced action games!"
"Oh, you like casual party games? You must not like complex RPGs!"
Etc.
