One of my favorite things about the game is that sometimes when you die, all you can think is, "Wow, that was an intense, awesome way to go down", and you're not mad about starting over. At least that's how it is for me.
The safe house can work if you're close enough. Tanks are the only thing that can eventually break that door down, but you get a lot of free headshots in the process.
Also, Tanks are rather slow to climb, so climbing on top of something can buy you a few seconds. My friends also told me that sharp turns throw them off, but I haven't had a chance to test that, because I always end up fighting them in the more open areas.
Yeah, I'm surprised by its numbers. I guess the franchise just has enough followers that reviews won't sway them.
Yeah, I also found it amusing that there's no comments in the open zone. This topic seems to be quite fanboy repellent.
But it appears to me that you can coexist fine with the opposing console. Being a fanboy in today's terms isn't about loving one console more than the other. It's about outwardly bashing the other. I'd say you're a PS3 fan, not a fanboy. If I had both consoles, I'd still buy most of my games for my Xbox, but that doesn't necessarily make me a fanboy.
Console fanboys emerged the second there was competition in the console market. You can't say that stuff started with Xbox fanboys. Yeah, Xbox fanboys may have started the recent string of voting down games, but that doesn't mean stuff like that hasn't happened numerous times in the past. It's fanboyism as a whole that's the issue, not one particular side of it.
Yeah, I don't really count the open zone. It's fun to throw in a bit of fake extreme fanboyism now and then. Lots of people do it.
I like your analogy there. It's always better to be positive about these things. People really do need to focus on what's good about their favorite games instead of what they think is bad about games that they probably haven't even played.
Heh, more like imagine how stupid she'll look when she tells people.
I guess reviews are going by the phrase, "If it's not broken, don't fix it." I played the beta, and it really didn't have the smooth, polished feel I love from CoD4. I expected the reviews to be slightly lower than what it's been rated so far.
There was a Half-Life mod for WW1 combat. I can't remember its name, though. It wasn't too bad, but it didn't really fit the war. Only the weapons were fitting.
Stealing? Blame Activision's money hogging if you don't like them using the same engine and mechanics. It's not really Treyarch's fault.
Treyarch's multiplayer has some pretty glaring balance issues between some of the weapons. They'll never match the polish that IW can bring, but they did make a good effort with this game. I'll pick it up eventually mostly for the campaign and co-op, but it's not enough to topple CoD4 for me.
Yeah, everybody has a little fanboy in them. I'll admit, I'm a little biased to the 360, but it's not enough that I'm not going to recognize the quality of many PS3 exclusives. If only the extremists could just grow up...
I don't see why you're saying that. It moved the MMO genre forward by making it more mainstream. It's not a huge success for nothing. And no, I don't play it anymore if you're wondering, but I still recognize it as a great accomplishment on Blizzard's part.
Pretty much what I was thinking.
Resistance only has dedicated servers because it needs it for 60 people. I'm sure if it also had 10 it wouldn't bother. The system works fine when the host isn't running the internet off of a cereal box. The game just needs to select better hosts.
Yeah, I agree. Reviews never bring up stuff like this. Even if it is easily patchable, it should at least be mentioned. I suppose that most reviewers don't play the game long enough to find stuff like this, though.
Anyway, the game seems pretty balanced for the most part. The only balance issue I've had so far is with the Lancer. I don't really have an issue with the mortar, because if you let the enemy team get the weapon uncontested, it's your own/your team's fault. Too many ti...
I've found that if I just take another quarter of a second to line up the shotgun shot, it's a hell of a lot more effective. It's easy to get kills in 1-2 shots every time if you actually aim at their chest.
I have to agree with the article that the Lancer is pretty darn lame now, though. They need to add something along the lines of a short cooldown time to when you can start revving the Lancer again after you take any damage. You can literally run up to people and mash B and ch...
Yeah, let's hope it's not a mess again this winter. I haven't been having any trouble yet. It seems it might just be a few bugs in the system that only some people are running into(knock on wood).
