Scores aren't everything. Don't forget that. Sales are all that really matter in winning the console war.
It's going to be an interesting holiday with all these good games coming out. We'll have to wait to see who comes out on top after it's all said and done.
I don't think that's true, but it'll surely be pirated.
The PS2 and Xbox were definitely full of piracy, but I don't think they compare to Dreamcast. You didn't even have to mod eary Dreamcasts to pirate games.
It just annoys me to no end that pirates don't realize(or care for that matter) that less profit = less chance of a sequel. It'll obviously be fine in the end with a franchise as big as Gears, but lower budget, less popular games can really be affected by piracy.
Don't forget that you need a modded system to pirate games as well. It's much more difficult to pirate a 360 game than a PC game. I don't think it can be called a rampant problem yet. I do expect it to get gradually worse, though.
One thing I still can't understand is why Piratebay is still even around. You think a site like that would be shut down already.
If you're talking about the stream that was posted here last week, that wasn't a cracked version.
Edit: Just wanted to be sure you weren't misinformed :)
I hate spoilers too. I've been avoiding watching any early gameplay from cracked versions except maybe some multiplayer.
Pirates always have a reason to pirate the game. There's not a whole lot that can be done about it with how many pirates there are out there.
It sounds to me like the reviewer ate a bad baguette and is angry at the world. There's no way this game isn't going to be solid.
Yeah, you're missing out on a ton of the game without the multiplayer. If someone wants to miss out on that, they probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
I don't see why PS3 fans are so adamant about keeping this game off the 360. It would just be more money to fuel future Kojima games. I don't see that as a bad thing.
I feel like the game is getting enough changes. There's no point in breaking a good formula, so I'm glad they're not messing with the mechanics much.
Actually, the concept of the stopping power itself is going to change the nature of online play a lot. No more diving shotgun fest. It'll still feel like almost the same game to some people, I'm sure, but at least the strategies will change, which is a big enough change in my books.
If you ask me, mandatory installs on a console is BS. Consoles are supposed to be quick to pick up and play, but a 10+ minute install the first time you play voids that notion. Sure, it's fine after the first time, but I don't see why it's even necessary. Consoles have always gotten by without it just fine.
If it follows a similar format to AC1, each city could be stored on a disc with the middle world on disc 1. With how much time you spend in a city, I wouldn't have a problem switching out between them.
It's probably the scale of it being captured not matching up to the stream. He's probably on a widescreen TV, which doesn't translate well into UStream.
I don't see R2 or LBP winning GotY myself, but since they aren't out yet, I may be in for some surprises with them. My predictions at the moment are between MGS4 and Fallout 3.
Well, that is being rather one-sided, but it is true that it's mostly the Sony fanboys that bash the graphics of 360 exclusives, just as the 360 fanboys love to bash PS3 exclusives.
It all comes down to either jealousy or just plain ignorance in the end.
Well, it is quite true that Playstation fans love to overhype their games. Look at Lair, Haze, and even the first Killzone back in the day. The same happens with Xbox games, but it doesn't seem to happen nearly as often. I wouldn't necessarily go to say that MGS4 was overhyped, but its cinematic style just isn't some people's cup of tea.
Honestly, I don't understand why so many people care when a game came out or how it looks. The fun factor is all that matters in the end. As said before, this article is just flamebait.
