Making two IPs also wasn't a thing Naughty Dog did.....until the PS3. Times are a changing.
Um, The Last Of Us has nothing to do with Uncharted. Research should be your priority after reading this response.
Loved this article!
Exactly, bringing things back to my point - since he didn't witness it first hand, he doesn't have the solid knowledge of what the game truly plays like. The other bazillion articles from journalists / spectators who HAVE witnessed the game up close answered his fears, as you say, long before he decided to post this article.
Makes you wonder why he didn't do a little research before writing it.
Well, it's harder to credit this writer over others who witnessed the game first hand. Many pre-judgments can be made while watching the footage from a comfortable distance.
However, the majority of articles we've seen are coming from people that not only witnessed the game played in person, but watched it be played several ways helping to cement the notion that you are still fully in control of the character and that the segments are indeed unique to each player.
@ DigitalAnalog: Indeed. People really need to see what other journalists have said. Many of them say it's the best A.I. they've seen, hands down.
How can the game be a cone when it's made by the same developers? Also, how can it be a clone when it's nothing like Uncharted?
Doesn't make sense.
I would usually argue for both F.E.A.R. and Killzone 2 (the latter I still feel retains the best A.I. on consoles), but from what The Last Of Us has shown, it bests them both. You might need to watch it again.
Keep in mind that neither F.E.A.R. nor Killzone 2 have as dynamic of A.I. or as many types of scenarios as The Last Of Us. It's really not even a debate.
Wonderful game! Top of my favorites list for a reason!
Still think you're short changing their games, and by quite a ways.
3EYOND will never be on another platform, bud. Sony never called it first party, they said it was only on PlayStation.
Besides, with the kind of support Sony and their fans give to Quantic Dream, debating over definition is completely pointless.
You use one example of a situation gone sour and clutch at that? Why not talk about the truck load of other studios / IPs that have had continued support from Sony?
Be careful who you seek reason from, for not everyone will be humble and offer credit where due.
OT: Sony's continued devotion to the "core" are why I stand by them (in addition to being risk takers on more casual projects).
"It's a shame because Uncharted is Playstations only really great multi-player game".
To you, perhaps. To many others, that couldn't be more inaccurate.
I've never read a more "WTF" post than this on N4G.
OT: Just beautiful. This and The Last Of Us are going to storm 2013 and be what defines the year for me!
I'm not sure you make much sense. Zipper being the only company to clse their doors, and because their games weren't pulling their weight. Quantic Dream on the other hand, has no such issue.
Look closely at the name and post history. Then from there, realize how pointless it is to argue with him. :)
Agreed.
If you have nothing of value, why would your stocks rise then?
Which is completely irrelevant. I'm sure you knew that, you just decided to use your last two bubbles to tell us how useless your contribution to this subject really is.
