That Sony has done themselves some good by investing in these types of projects. This and The Last Of Us are them telling us what PlayStation is all about - the experience!

The Last Of Us isn't just "another 3rd person shooter". In fact, nothing I've played looks like it.

You also talk about zombies, yet not one "zombie" was shown @ E3.

I suggest more research.

Some of you really expected a 2012 release? Really? I guess many didn't listen to what Naughty Dog said: "we're not pegging ourselves to any specific release date". I knew once those words were spoken, 2013 would be the time it released.

I'm thankful that Naughty Dog is taking their time and not succumbing to the whiners of the internet. These games need their stuff carefully done, especially a title with as much riding on its success as The Last Of Us. ...

Thank goodness your bitterness doesn't appear to be contagious.

OT: The entire sequence was brilliant. The AI was out of this world!

Although some bits are harsh, I completely agree!

No, both conferences didn't necessarily suck. You just didn't like what was available, which is fine. Life goes on.

OT: I don't care for all the moaning, but I saw a bunch of games that I am getting. Period.

So now the argument shifts from long release schedules to your opinion on the individual games themselves? Bottom line, Sony hasn't announced anything that's more than a year from release at this point. Since you moved away from that topic piece, I'm inclined to believe your argument was flimsy to begin with.

Edit: It appears you're an alt. No need to continue to debate.

So they show a game that is releasing the following year and that now equates to "who knows when"? Man, I wonder if some of you actually think before typing with your keyboards.

Nevermind that God of War: Ascension got a solid release date, right? Nah, that be too much to admit.

David Cage's games always show real time (play Heavy Rain). This topped The Last Of Us, by far. Still, what they showed of The Last Of Us was incredible!

4976d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

You mean "The Last Of Us". And my guess is yes. :)

4976d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

David Cage only shows real time. He even announced it on-stage.

4976d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Graphically, it has no equal on consoles (even topping the stunning The Last Of Us - which I can't believe).

Heavy Rain is my #1 game. This may just clear that!

I'd take Killzone over any of these, but that takes nothing from Halo. No need to bring up other titles needlessly.

No wonder why Cage wasn't that impressed with LA NOIRE. No doubt no games will feature as real of facial movements as LA NOIRE, but David Cage knows how to make a character model look nearly "human".

Edit: Also, being that Ellen Page has been confirmed for this title (at least, according to the poster), that could be another reason Ellie was altered in The Last Of Us. Just a thought.

Sorry. It will be PlayStation-only.

Really shouldn't pay him much attention. He's known to do just what he did here in most Sony related topics - spout complete nonsense and get at people. Don't waste the time.

OT: I'm VERY intrigued, especially being that HR is my favorite game to date. Will be watching closely tonight at 9!

As far as the genre it's in, Uncharted owns what it set out to do. Whether this new Tomb Raider heads that direction remains to be seen, but while they are different in their own way, this team is clearly after some of the Uncharted crowd.

Fortunately for me, I appreciate them both and buy accordingly. I personally prefer Tomb Raider's feel of puzzles, exploration, and atmosphere, but acknowledge that Uncharted, in this type of setting, is the one to beat.

And that's precisely my point. Maybe Square-Enix didn't see a need to bring it to the 360 (given it may sell the least on it - versus the Wii U & Vita, the PS3 version may outsell all of them. Or maybe Nintendo and / or Sony struck deals.

Being that Kingdom Hearts has only ever been PlayStation and Nintendo titles, the exclusion of a 360 version doesn't surprise me.

4980d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

As already mentioned, Kingdom Hearts has never been on an Xbox platform. When a nice chunk of the game's sales come from Japan, and we know the situation there for the Xbox, it doesn't make as much sense to port over. I'm also imagining some sort of deal with Sony and Nintendo in addition.

At this point, if you want it, get it for one of the [three] platforms it's coming to. Besides, it's not like the absence of a 360 version hurts you much anyway, right? ...

Agreed. Many were silenced with that release, but you'll have a few that will still attempt to question it.

Fortunately, no matter what they unveil at E3, it will all be running on the PS3. :)
