You're quoting a guy that wouldn't be positive about Sony if they smacked him with a bag of cash. Don't waste the effort.
OT: Their line-up is very risky, but as a gamer, that isn't what matters to me. The risky titles end up being some of my favorite around.
For obvious reasons, such an article would interest me. Now that I've finally gotten into PC gaming, seems like this device is already there. Still, today's consoles, I feel, were just the start of some truly mind blowing visuals, and it's all up from here!
Right, but you're one person. In general, Sony has used Gamescom as a faucet to announce new and exciting things (be it new IPs, re-designed consoles, price drops, add-ons, you name it. They usually have something for everyone.
Sony has announced price drops, slimmer consoles, and new IPs at Gamescom shows in the past. It can be exciting, even if Microsoft doesn't show (for whatever reason - not my place to judge it).
This just makes it easier for Sony to take advantage of the situation and unveil something cool (price drop, slimmer PS3 or whatever).
It will be similar to Heavy Rain, but the game-play is still more traditional (walking with the stick rather than R2 - for instance).
Still, what they showed @ E3 was very little. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet.
That's because GRID and DiRT aren't going for the kind of realism of either of those games. I prefer speed too, but I wouldn't compare something like GT or Forza to Ridge Racer and Burnout. Totally different experiences / purposes.
I think he's hyping the graphics a bit much (no doubt they're good, but not quite on the level of some of the titles he compared it to), but completely agree that it's good to see Lara returning to her action/adventure roots. Day 1 for sure!
And how do you know this?
I believe you're wrong about the game division. Have you got a source?
They all know this. Microsoft just seems to be the only one depending on it, mostly, of late.
Still, I expect all three companies to have a slice of the 3rd party pie next gen.
And The Last Of Us takes another one home! Crazy!
You use Wiki s a source? You know anyone could go in an edit, right?
"Best" sales in 2011? Well, according to the site that tracks individual sales, the 360 didn't quite edge out the PS3.
Best online is easily subjective - though I personally find LIVE to be more robust than PSN.
Other than that, there's no way to gauge this outside of sales, which the Xbox isn't winning in:
In North America, yes, it sol...
I wouldn't use the harsh word "ignorant", but a little unaware that PlayStation 3 exclusives don't generally end up on PC.
Cage said Kara will never be a game. I agree with you though, I'd love to see a game based on that idea.
Heavy Rain was never given a date and then delayed. The rest of what you said is also nonsense, but that one was just absolutely false.
OT: Seems like they have their hands full (although I'd imagine that they would probably save one of those projects for next gen).
By your logic, any 3rd person shooter is like Uncharted or Gears "because they take cover and shoot in the same perspective". My point is that's about as stretching as it gets, because what they've shown of The Last Of Us already is tons different than Uncharted, despite the perspective.
I didn't say whether or not I thought those other games are trying to be like it, but you are certainly writing off The Last Of Us as a re-skinned Uncharted. It's so...
But that's my point, several things are "firsts" for Naughty Dog this gen.
The "Naughty Dog way" is likely a thing of the past.
You've already embarrassed yourself in this topic multiple times. We get it, you don't favor Sony, but continuing to spout nonsense does nothing for you (at least not what you'd like it to).
Let's see...
FORZA, the IP, isn't new.
South Park isn't exclusive.
There were other problems with your post, but those are blatantly incorrect.
What exclusives (games - not exclusive DLC, which has a minimal impact overall) have Sony payed for? They've put the majority of their money into their own exclusives (or IPs they're publishing - such as Beyond: Two Souls).
Maybe during the PS1 era when they were trying to establish themselves in this industry did they "moneyhat" 3rd party titles, but these days, the only money (I imagine) going towards any games are their own. How else could FFXIII, GTA IV...
