1. You misunderstand me. I'm not saying multi-player isn't popular, it obviously is. Having said that, on a side note, I still suspect it's more popular with under 40's. However, that's irrelevant since what I was trying to say is that older players who cannot bring themselves to play single player anymore are, in my best estimation, in a minority. The writer literally says he can't play alone anymore despite having loved single player for many years. That's ...
Wow, judging by the comments, and my own preferences, the writer is in a real small minority.
There's nothing wrong with that but I hope studios don't listen to people like that without also hearing us. Last thing I want is for companies to throw even more development time at micro-transaction filled loot fests or pay2win and then spend less time on single player :s
I mean look at Anthem. I read that the only remaining small group of people at...
Ah, good ol' split screen. It'll always be, by far, my favourite kind of multiplayer.
Heh, I wouldn't worry about it. I think it's just that you get more selective and harder to impress as you age. It's how things have gone for me anyway. I'm 43 now and about 10 years ago I'd finish most games I started, even those that were merely above average.
The past few years though, I just don't have the tolerance for that. I still try lots of games but I only really like and finish a few. I'm finding story driven rpgs, horror and st...
My experience as I've aged is the same as yours, single player almost exclusively for me now. The only multiplayer I participate in now is couch/split screen multiplayer. I still love that.
I also don't feel more lost in the worlds I explore when I play with others. Too much chatting, making jokes or getting side tracked by discussing current events. How are you supposed to stay engrossed in a fantasy world when people start talking about Brexit, their bastard b...
Heh, you're probably right.
After all, they need something to do in between sessions of playing with their Newton's Cradles, while sitting in their plush offices thinking of new ways to screw over beloved franchises.
Indeed, the waves of justice have well and truly washed over the land, increasing the quality of life for minorities and vulnerable folk everywhere, cleansing the world of sadness and pain.
Oh wait, they didn't. For a second there I forgot that BFV is a game about shooting people in the face and not an experimental device that alters reality according to its creators wishes.
Uh-oh, some people won't be happy. I remember seeing a couple of sites praising Ada's trenchcoat, saying how she was, at last, no longer sexualised. Yet, if my eyes don't deceive me, a rather lovely, figure hugging red dress is back in full effect.
I don't usually pre-order but..... ;)
You've got my support :)
You're right, they'd never had made it through without needing to be in a sanitarium to 'heal'.
The problem is they didn't see those years because they were either in nappies or unborn, heh.
It's probably why, even though we live in the most progressive and inclusive society thus far in humankind's history, they do nothing but see hatred and discrimination everywhere.
That or they just want clicks :s
Haha, nice one! Yeah, it was a mercy banning :)
You know, I try to be as fair as possible but this whole debacle is just pathetic from every angle.
Firstly, ganking has always been pathetic imho, but then it's the nature of many online games. You join a game like that you know what you're in for. These games try to offer freedom, a nihilistic kinda freedom. A space to be as outrageous as you like with no real consequences because, you know, it's not actually real. That's how many people view these gam...
And yet it's still not worth it I imagine.
I often think that they should at least offer early buyers some kind of in-game bonus or currency (if the game has them) when they drop the price that much, that quickly. Like you said, it's a real slap in the face to those poor sods.
He's specifically claiming there is repetition in sequels and he is right....but isn't that pretty much the point?
People love something and they want more, so you give it to them. Not sure where the problem is. Sure, you'd like a few tweaks, additions and improvements but you don't want massive changes to a formula you already loved or else why bother calling it a sequel?
For example, what did he expect from Uncharted 4? The inclusio...
Whilst the writer has gone to a lot of trouble and managed to bring some interesting historical stories about WWII to my attention, the article itself kinda has no real meaning with regards to the actual controversy.
He claims all upset is purely 'down to gamer butthurt' and then attempts to prove it by talking through points that.....they're not even upset about. I mean, he mainly talks about single player and says that the campaign is historically accurate bu...
If it's an update that magically patches it into a SP only Fallout 5, replete with great NPC's, a long main campaign and new game engine then count me in! ;)
Hah, no wonder there's a huge uproar that's forming into a real internet sh&*tstorm about this. Oh wait, there isn't; it's just a male character getting raped. Phew, nothing to see here, my bad ;)
Funny how Sarkeesian and her ilk haven't gotten outraged over this. I can't imagine why, heh.
@InTheZoneAC
You absolutely should play DS 2, imho, though it loses pacing and focus near the end. It's a short game but even so I found the last two hours to be nothing more than a constant onslaught of monsters. It dragged a bit but I still love it.
Also, I'd urge you to ignore the mixed reception DS 3 got and play that too. I feel what it may lack in constant dread and confined, tense corridor exploration (though it has those things too) it ...
Oh dear. I'm sorry, but using the term 'mage' is problematic and triggering to me. Please use 'melee challenged', thank you very much!
