In reference to my comment above, I'm NOT trying to de-value anyones choice of hardware, be it pc or console.
It's just that I've been following this game for what seems like forever and have been heavily invested in the forums.
Trust me, or if not, go check them out yourselves. There is yet another thread which is set go on for for ages about the downgrades and how the PC version will only have small differences from the PS4 version, except for ...
@VickerC
Except, sadly, it won't due to 'parity' :( It'll just have a couple of extra Nvidia touches and an extra 30fps.
Whilst I've read the same thing a few times, 20%-30%, I'm still surprised when you consider it's an action game famous for being rather short.
Actually, I think your 770 will play this kind of quality at 30fps solid at least.
The reason I say this is that it's known that a 980 is required for Ultra, at 60fps on 1080p (some things like Ubersampling not withstanding). This isn't Ultra unless CDPR have gone back on their word.
What was their word? That Ultra wouldn't be released to the public before launch day.
So, this must be high settings, which we know are playable, a...
As much as people, including myself, may be suspicious of MS, EA and all of these DX12 claims, the fact is I spent a lot of money on a fairly high powered pc and don't want to spend anymore for a few years.
If I can get better performance and graphics through what seems to be a FREE software update then whats to complain about?
Really happy to see they're ready to announce something, loved HR.
Small request though, a few more outdoor environments (like the original) and varied colour schemes. Black and gold looks cool but it wore thin for me after a while.
Apart from that, I trust them with everything else :)
None more black.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I'm all for a greater number of great female protagonists but simply changing well established male characters into females is stupid, lazy and, more importantly, destructive for most of the existing fans.
Before I go any further, I'd like to point out that I'd hate them to turn Lara Croft into a man too. It's about respecting established characters.
Anyway, my view is this. Let's say yo...
Tim is done.
His time is over as evidenced by his badly organised projects, his irrelevancy in modern genres and his out-of-touch views on games, gamers and gaming culture in general.
Goodbye Tim, it was fun for awhile :)
@Gamer1982
Sadly, I was thinking the same thing.....been hanging around the Witcher 3 forums and that whole graphic downgrade situation has taught me a thing or two.
I think developers think they can get away with it even more at the moment because people are more likely to believe them due to this being the 'next gen' era.
I'll try.
Gaming journos call gamers a bunch of <insert insult here>.
Gamergate says they're all corrupt, fanatical SJWs.
Journalists say 'Oh shut up, you bunch of white cis, misogynist scum'.
Minorities who support Gamergate say:
'Hey, don't ignore us and make out all the gamers complaining are white misogynists to be ignored. Don't pretend you're saying all this crap a...
I agree but I think the problem is, the kinda people he supports are exactly the kind of people who will treat this as a racist comment. The see-evil-everywhere types.
I feel he's kinda reaping what he's sown.
He's not exactly Bill Burr is he?
It's a shame about his anit-GG views.
Hope he manages to walk the socio-political tightrope people seem to be forced across these days or else he might end up on the receiving end of abuse from the SJWs he seemingly loves so much.
They've already turned on Brianna Wu and, among other far worse things, are saying they only pretended to like her game :O
Where's the love for Mario Kart and Alien Isolation? :( Oh well, I guess they can't all be winners...
Having just played through TW2 again recently, I can say that I love the fact they include Welsh and Northern Irish accents and I also love the generally salty language.
One of my favourite lines was: 'Pucker up and kiss my arse you f***ing tulip!' in cockney.
It MUST be in the sequel :)
Yeah, I'm thinking of doing the same, especially since I don't have any of the saves from the previous ones :)
I wonder how long before the release I should start in order to be done in time?
I understand where you and many others are coming from and I sympathise but, and I know this isn't gonna be popular, a lot of this DLC criticism depends on subjectivity and the assumption that content which is being used to encourage pre-orders would have been given to you with your initial purchase if DLC was 'illegal/banned' or whatever. There's a good chance a lot of this content wouldn't even exist.
In order to really put the boot into publishers (an...
Whilst Metacritic's formula can be argued about with regards to game scores, I think it's unfair to blame them for bonus issues when it's the publishers that come up with those particular clauses and rules.
If I started my own website to aggregate scores as best I can and then some developer accused me of spoiling their chances of making $10,000's of dollars due to publisher contracts completely out of my control, I'd be pretty mystified/insulted.
...
Yeah, me too, malware warnings all over the place.
Well, CDPR must be confident, embargo lifts on the 12th....so not long to wait :)
