Yeah, similar thing with me, though I did play for around 10 hours.
I want 60fps and, more importantly, mods, for a lot of quality of life improvements. For example, more fast travel options and not needing to select weapons every time you get off your horse.
I'm sure modding will make the game flow better and possibly even improve combat in some small way.
Whilst I like being able to tailor my gameplay style and work out the best combination of skills, I find that these things make it more difficult for the developers to maintain a consistent level of challenge. It's almost always the case that some skills are more effective than others, no matter how hard the developers try. It can have an effect on difficulty and, in survival horror, that's a delicate thing.
If they assume you're going to find the 'best bu...
Ooo, if it gets great reviews are you sure your willpower can handle the wait? ;)
That's cool, but I hope the companions don't interfere with the difficulty level. I don't want them holding my hand, so to speak.
Hopefully the improved enemy A.I and the dogs the journos keep going on about keep the challenge to survival horror levels :)
I was hoping for the more full-on, 'roided to the gills, Chris 'Boulder Destroyer' Redfield but you can't have everything :)
Yeah, but I have to wonder, seeing as though Druckmann is so woke, whether it's all a red herring.
I imagine he knows full well how the LGBT community feels about gay characters being killed off so maybe this is all a ruse and they'll be a twist and Dina is fine in the end.
If he has Dina killed off though, then I'll be impressed as it means he's putting story and setting first.
Reminds me a bit of how Tarantino made The...
I think the writer is jumping the gun here anyway.
Neil Druckman is a hardcore SJW and he must be completely aware of how upset the LGBT community get about gay characters being killed off. I'd imagine he wants people to have strong feelings about Dina being killed but that it's not quite what it seems.
Either it's actually a rescue or they'll be on a revenge mission and there'll be some kind of twist and she'll turn up alive.
I get what you mean but I think the author is the real culprit here and is guilty of using the usual provocative and dishonest headline, imo.
She actually says, 'It's way more positive than negative' but the writer doesn't put that as his headline. Oh no, he has to try and make some kind of social justice issue/complaint out of it. These 'journos', if they even deserve the name, are trash.
As a slightly funny sidenote, I don'...
I think this isn't the sort of game that can show how the gameplay might feel very well just through a hands off demo.
It's gonna be about how invested we become in the actual story, how much we feel we're creating and building towards something that becomes personal to us, alongside emergent stealth/combat gameplay that allows us to improvise and express ourselves.
It'll be an added plus if there are genuine moments of intensity/horror ...
Sperm and eggs? Sounds like some kind of horrifying breakfast.
I think the sentence should be longer. I know he only encouraged someone else but 15 months that may end up being halved for good behaviour isn't much. Swatting someone is probably more dangerous than drink driving and they hand out longer sentences for that if someone gets killed, don't they? At least I hope they do.
What a strange world we live in. When I started gaming the most competitive thing I can remember was Pong. Maybe someone'd get angry and smac...
I sense some kind of joke based on the fact the site calling for easier games that don't challenge the player is called 'thegamer'...but I can't be arsed.
The problem is the idea that a story-heavy game's main draw and reason for existence is the story, rather than gameplay, something I doubt is true for Death Stranding or indeed the vast majority of games.
You wanna a true story based 'game'? Play Dear Esther or Gone Home. Y...
My brother drinks those while playing games anyway. It'll be extra immersive I guess :)
Inconsistencies? But she's usually such a reliable source of trustworthy information and fair, balanced opinions...
...said no one ever.
I agree.
Unfortunately, journos feel they have to say ramp up their claims to get those precious clicks, rather than say something similar to your comment; something balanced, fair and more accurate.
He'll probably write a similar article after Last of Us 2 releases ;)
But...but...what about Peter Molyneux?
Kidding :) That boat has sailed but what he did back in the day was quite brilliant.
I'll vote for misguided.
Yeah, I agree. I thought that it'd have one difficulty, similar to games like Shadow of the Colossus (iirc), as it would be more of an 'experience' game.
Very happy to hear there are enough hands-on gameplay systems to warrant difficulty settings.
But...I'm not horrified. Is that wrong?
Yeah, it's a tough one but in the end I went with 4k @60fps on a 43inch. I'm a sucker for the visuals and don't do multiplayer. My son is similar to you though, he hates anything less than 120. In fact, he still gives me playful grief about my preference.
If the choice eventually becomes 8k at 60fps or 4k at 120fps (maintaining high settings) then I'll plump for the latter.
