That could well be the case but you know what? I'd rather they just admitted it :)

Yeah, delays can be annoying enough but at least when the release date is set a year or so before you can then understand how they got it wrong.

Like you said, in this instance they only announced it recently so what the hell were they thinking? I'm beginning to wonder what polishing even means at this point, from an industry wide perspective. For me, polishing means it's virtually ready for sale, ready for the public but what the hell, after years of development,...

I enjoyed The Order and felt it was treated unfairly. However, I wouldn't go so far as to say that it was soooo good it was one the most underrated.

I think Mad Max was treated more harshly, imho. Batman-esque combat (though not as good) courtesy of Warner Brothers, a large world to explore, plenty of upgrading that really had an impact on gameplay, visuals and sound that really evoked the setting and good driving.

Evil Within 2 was NOT directed by ...

Unfortunately, at least a couple of reviewers have said that they completed pretty much everything and it was, indeed, around 30 hours long. In fact, the developers themselves have said the game is anywhere from 15-40 hours.

"In an interview, the developers revealed that The Outer Worlds should take between 15 and 40 hours to complete, depending on which gameplay style we choose. Those who prefer a sneaky approach will spend more time playing with the game than player...

Same here. I was hoping 20-30 hour main campaign and then another 30 for side quests, exploration, loot hunting etc,.

I was also surprised that I felt disappointed about the absence of romance options. I've never really cared about that sort of thing, or so I thought, but I've seemingly gotten used to them in this style of game without even realising it :s

Haha, I was confused by your comment at first :)

Then I re-read my comment and realised I'd mistakenly used the word 'campaign' when what I meant was 'playthrough'. The word 'experience' I then used to describe Skyrim and Witcher playtimes was what I was getting at; the total time one might play until you've seen it all or, at least, enough of it and you're ready to finish. My bad.

It's good to know this beforehand rather than go into the game expecting a 60-70 hour Fallout style campaign, or even a 100+ hours Skyrim/Witcher 3 experience, and suddenly finding yourself thinking 'Whaaaaat?!', when the credits start rolling.

I'll play on Supernova from the get go, like the harder setting in New Vegas and the like, in order to be forced to engage in all the gameplay mechanics and that's bound to make the experience longer.

Really had fun with this game. The difficulty drops around the half-way mark for some reason and overall it's not as difficult or tense as the first. It's more straight forward too but it still held my interest all the way through.

In particular, seeing a new enemy type and therefore a new armour/weapon set to collect was as enjoyable as before, as was creating different builds by mixing and matching parts/implants.

Well done Deck13 :)

For me, its cost will be offset by trading in my PS4. If the PS5 is backwards compatible, then why would I need it?

Also, I usually wait until the second version comes out and the price has dropped a bit. By that time any teething issues have been resolved, the console has a few exclusives ready and the price is usually slightly less.

When all that is taken into consideration, including the trade in, I'll be willing to pay £300-£350, depen...

The original was one of my all-time favourite 16-bit games, it just felt so right.

Loved most of the soundtrack too :)

One of the problems for a game like this is that the longer it takes to come out, the less impressive it'll seem by the time it finally does. Things that blew our mind when revealed 3-7 years ago aren't gonna feel so special once the game is actually finished in, what, another 4-5 years?

One of the guys from id Software recently spoke about that kind of drawback, with regards to the first Rage.

It's funny, I was brought up to believe Australia was this no nonsense, rugged and somewhat tough country where no one had time for fragile sensibilities or the easily offended but look how much fuss they make about video games.

What happened to Crocodile Dundee? ;)

Damn it. Thanks for the warning so I could avoid giving this site my time :)

I'm seemingly in the minority when it comes to this game, though comparatively poor sales for 2 compared to 1 say that maybe I'm not. It's all subjective anyway :)

I loved it and found it much better paced and with much more variety in terms of enemies, combat situations and nightmarish environments than the second. The weapons also meant more strategically and had real purpose.

The second game was good too but the reused main areas, limited...

I preferred the full length Until Dawn. This was more like an episode of the Twilight Zone. The game ends just as you're getting used to the characters and it was too easy but it was fun enough while it lasted.

You're right, there would be an uproar and Blizzard would definitely consider renaming it. You might even get into trouble for White Guys or Trump Boys nowadays.

2316d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

To be fair, I initially had no idea whether Gay Boys was meant as positive, negative or just plain silly.

I can imagine it being banned because it's rude to the LGBT community, removed because of multiple reports from anti-LGBT people who hide their reason or because it was seen as just plain unhelpful/needlessly provocative.

For example, I'd imagine guilds named Straight Guys, White Boys or Hetero Dudes would also come under scrutiny. Someone, s...

What crap.

The idea that focus and hype on upcoming exclusives (games that people will be able to actually play and enjoy) will suddenly dissipate and be aimed only at an as yet unreleased console is absurd.

It's not like there's a finite amount of gaming excitement and people have to choose one or the other; they can be excited about both.

Pah, 'bigger issue than one would expect', 'awkward position' - what a lo...
