Don't know if this will help but they added an alternative control style in the options menu. Might be worth a shot.

Well, W3 is my joint GoaT and I love CDPR but I'm not sure that 'the future' belongs to any one development team...and that's a good thing :)

Imo, you heard right.

The combat needs to be difficult in order for Signs, dodging and upgrades to matter. That's when you'll get the most out of combat. It's still not as good as a great game that is based entirely on combat but it makes a big difference. I'd give the combat a 7.5/10, which for me is more than 'good'. This combined with the other incredible elements is why it's my joint GoaT, alongside Deus Ex (2000).

I think Days Gone was probably more underrated (in fact they share similar meta scores) but like that game, it gets plenty of good word of mouth. Personally, I loved Sleeping Dogs and wanted a sequel.

One thing I definitely feel isn't talked about enough is the melee combat system. There were slight Batman tones to it but it was more deliberately paced and the way you ended up having a chain-branching attack system where you could mix and match depending on your needs...

Wow, the Netflix series must be pretty good!

Randy has the added bonus of liking to assault people from time to time, so at least that sets him apart from Phil ;)

Wow, it's rare to see someone so utterly hate what has always been considered an all-time classic RE game. I think you're looking at it from a contemporary lens. It's a 2005 game, you know?

More action-oriented? Sure. Did it lead to the even more action oriented RE5 and 6? Sure.

Still, the game is, for many, still a master piece; 96 critic score and 92 user. So yeah, if they do a remaster, don't expect massive changes.

To be fair, you can have both. For example, The Witcher 3 showed that, imho.

Anyway, the trick is for the designers to know where the balance is within the context of their own limitations. I'd agree that a large world just for the sake of it isn't as important as quality content, so devs simply have to be honest with themselves with regards to their budget, skill, content and deadlines.

Hmm, the first game was tonally and artistically interesting, with decent gameplay. However, it wasn't that varied and was pretty damn short.

I'm glad they're making a sequel but, imho, it's hardly a system seller. Besides, it'll probably come to PC so PS owners could just buy it on that.

If he means diverse as in creative diversity the great. If he means diverse as in Bioware and Mass Effect Andromeda then....oh dear :s

Nah, we just had Prey. System Shock Remasters and System Shock 3 are on their way too.

I'm not that fussed about what JJ 'Star Wars Saboteur' Abrams has to say about...well, anything really ;)

Should I feel guilty that I barely even remember Carlos?

2251d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeaaah, I'm sure the fact he's a white guy has nothing to do with this 'urinalists' opinion :/

Look, he might not be particularly memorable in terms of all the game characters out there, but he was a nice enough character with a bit of a sense of humour. I doubt many thought he was AWFUL, as the tagline implies. That's way too strong.

Interesting. This and Boneworks, which comes out in a week or so, seem like great reasons to dust off the VR :)

Yeah, I agree with you there.

Overhead swing was a very handy move but used soooo much bar. Ridiculous. I realise they didn't want us spamming it because it does a ton of damage but the amount of force it used, combined with having very little force regen in fights, needed adjusting I think.

Maybe it could have used stamina instead? Or perhaps had yet another bar? One for force powers and one for 'force saber', I don't know. It just...

Agree.

I found the last two boss fights really accentuated the lack of, as you say, 'tightness', around the combat. Playing on Grandmaster felt very difficult but not in an enagaging way. Things felt cheap and not as fair or balanced in the same way as Sekiro or Souls.

Imho, it was a combination of various niggles/mistakes that the FromSoft team wouldn't have made. Still felt pretty good most of the time, just needs fine tuning for the ne...

Amen to that :)

Yeah, unlike the new main protagonist, at least Cal feels more human. Flaws, mistakes, fears and regrets, in addition to all the good qualities. With Rey, it just feels like they were scared to make her anything other than perfect and successful at all times, even when it doesn't make sense, lest she not be judged as 'strong' and ends up not selling enough figurines :s

I think the author should probably just stick to movies.

It's an action game and the reasons for the combat, traversal, exploration and puzzles are loosely held together with a passable story and characters whose lines and actions are a mixed bag. So what?

If you absolutely need a fantastically well written hero who brings strong emotions out of you in order to enjoy the, you know, actual gameplay then yeah, maybe you don't actually enjoy the pri...
