I bought Zelda:TP for my 'Cube, and unless Metroid is amazing and they come out with another Zelda, I won't be buying the system.
Critically, the games..well...suck for the most part. Commercially, the system is doing well because of the novelty, but unless some quality titles come out, the system will not do well in the long run.
Yes, all systems have their AAA franchises, but Sony and MS have tons of other games that are good - like Crackdown and MotorStorm fo...
I'm gonna wait until I can get it for $39.99
Best Buy had SC:DA and R6:Vegas for $39.99 within six weeks of launch -for a limited time - so I'm thinking its an Ubisoft thing to boost sales.
and laughing hysterically, I found myself mildly disturbed at how those skits are not THAT exaggerated except for the gay part. - Though for a 4 month period I was the only heterosexual male manager. I wasn't uncomfortable because they were cool and all the managers in the city - three stores - would go to the clubs, and yes , there were female managers - about half of the managers were girls - and A LOT of very attractive college girls working part-time. I dated a few, one broke my heart. ...
Since it is "all inclusive"...
Sorry, couldn't resist, but these necessary items puts the console close to $800 without games - yes I need the WiFi.
This is why I will be waiting until 2009 or later before getting one.
Make no mistake - I want one - just not at that price!
What this means is that Sony is currently meeting consumer demand - there is stock available, but not a surplus by any means. The question is whether Sony is happy with the current demand.
In that light, the 360 is the same - I usually see 2-6 systems at the major retailers.
I've seen pyramids of both PS3s and 360s that are widdled down to a few systems with a week.
I've no actual data, but just from observation, both systems are turning over inve...
But I quit Abercrombie after one of our best part-time employees was not allowed to attend a corporate store visit because she was not "cute enough", and the district manager hired a few people from a local modeling agency and had them lie to the President (of Abercrombie) during the visit - saying they had worked there for over a year and attended KU.
It became clear to me that Abercrombie was preying off of the desire of kids to "be like the pretty popular kids...
Yesterday, I saw four at a Circuit City and three at Wal-Mart.
Best Buy has them more often than not as well. They are selling, definitely, but not a the speed of a Wii. I have yet to see an actual Wii on a store shelf - and though I don't currently want one, I look just because...
Bottom line, if I wanted a PS3, I would have had one early January. If I wanted a Wii, I'd still be looking.
There have been a few Gamestop managers locally that have been great - very knowledgable, not pushy, don't try to blow smoke and can recognize when they are talking to a gamer, but don't try to screw an uninformed customer.
However, these guys disappear quickly. They are there for a few months and then gone. I don't know if they got promoted to district managers, larger volume stores, or found better paying jobs, but the problem is not that they can't find good people, its th...
that the XBOX version was supposed to be $40 and the 360 version $60 and they made a careless error...good find, though.
the PS3 being delayed until fall 2007 - The first I overheard, the second two I was told directly. These occured at three different GameStops in KC...what is more is that when I mention that I follow this stuff pretty closely - they became defensive and maintained THEY have info we do not!
the developers say the fighting system will play more like Ninja Gaiden than GoW.
I'm not sure how to take this. I loved Ninja Gaiden - even beat it(only on Normal - I'm not some kind of gaming stud!, but this type of game is not exactly accessible to the masses. Many people got stuck on the second boss in NG.
Its just an interesting direction given the source material. I would think people would expect more of a button mashing fest accessible to noobs with ...
"but rather than concentrate on PS2 backwards compatibility, in the future, company resources will be increasingly focused on developing new games and entertainment features exclusively for PS3, truly taking advantage of this exciting technology."
Isn't this basically the same exact thing MS(I think Peter Moore) has said about the 360 regarding BC?
that the technology has gotten to the point where this is not a reliable standard of measurement any longer. My understanding is that things are so complex - no simple factor can be taken as representative of the whole power of a system.
That seems to be right given the numerous discussions on these forums regarding the 360 Vs. PS3 and the memory number/drive speed...stuff I don't have a clue about. I don't see this as anything negative, and likely something that was taken ...
Yes, I am disappointed with how MS has handled BC so far - with some seemingly obvious titles still not BC, and an overall number of titles that is less than was implied - at this time. But MS was clear that it was something they really did not want to do, but would work on it because XBOX gamers had expressed it as a priority. In all, it is not shocking that the BC so far has been underwhelming.
Sony however, talked smack about "other" consoles and advertised BC as...
Yes, even after the 360 gets its updates, the PS3 version may still have a few (relatively unnoticable) advantages graphically/load times.
But 360 owners have been playing the game for a YEAR now, and they are guaranteed all downloadable content - I'm sure the PS3 will get it too - eventually.
I'm tired of PS3 fanboys acting as if the 360 version was an unplayable mess of a game and THEY are getting the version that is not "broken".
Plus,...
It did not make me want to buy the system, like the following games that led to a purchase of the system (and game) within a month of playing the kiosk
- Zelda Wind Waker made me buy a 'Cube(the cel shaded graphics didn't bother me once I tasted the gameplay)
- Super Mario DS made me buy a DS Lite
- GT3 made me buy a PS2
My XBox and 360 did not need trials before purchasing...
Look, the game seemed to be a solid shooter, but with littl...
I usually focus on one game at a time - SP wise(currently SC:DA, and have a few that I'm playing on LIVE, but Crackdown will be in that special place with Oblivion, where I use it to take a break from my current focus.
I'll be playing this game for a long time...just to mess around and be stupid funny.
I never really did too much alchemy play in Oblivion besides making the occasional healing potion or poison - and I have the Wizard's Tower which has the rare plants etc.
I've said this before, and I'll say this again...Crackdown is my guilty pleasure dessert after some time with more serious gaming - whether it be intense LIVE competition, or a dealing with a game that requires more precision and strategy(Like R6:Vegas).
the best way to put it, is that it is my Road Runner/ Wile E. Coyote cartoon.
All fanboys do what you've described. Its not just the Xbox fanboys. Sony fanboys swear Blu-ray is the future. Nintendo fanboys fight tooth and nail that graphics don't matter and the Wiimote is the future...the rest of us reasonable people are able to make our own decisions, or admit "I just don't know the answer." or "I'm waiting to see what happens in the industry before buying into anything."
The rest of us do not need someone to validate our opinion ...
