I'm trading in my 360 (with all the Oblivion expansions) on the HD and all my games and getting a PS3 and its version of Oblivion, and I'm gonna start all over, even though I'm 106 hours into the game, and I'm gonna....geez, people!

The general, uninformed public is where the big money is at - and they don't read online reviews or look for release dates - they just buy what looks good at retail. I'm referring to the Wii crowd. I'm not bashing the Wii, but most people who buy it are not aware that the games have been pretty disappointing ...
Did you ever play "Adventure" on the Atari 2600? Your character was a square - a literal solid, single colored square.
Now, with all the armor/weapons...it is amazing how far the technology has come.
I love the shooters, but the Elder Scrolls game give me a beautiful, wonderous world that I can explore however I want. I love that I can choose to go into or ignore an Oblivion gate, how I can look at my long list of quests and just choose whatever catch...

Excellent point. Sony's actions don't follow their logic. - but like sajj said below - the European market may be the most difficult to secure. Japan is going to outsell the 360 in Japan - that's just a given. In the US, the Playstation brand has established its name as synomonous with videogames - so it may confident about the U.S.

And though I was very aware that the graphics were not up to par with the PC, it looked good on th XBOX, and it had all of the PC content.
Bottom line, it is a great game - a classic, and not having the absolute "best graphics available" did not ruin it for me.
Now, the differences between the 360 and PS3 versions of Oblivion are negligible compared to HL2 on Xbox or PC. I just don't see how these can possibly affect your enjoyment of the game one way ...
Thrash yourself before anyone else can. If you point out how you are sucking, or how lucky you are getting - when doing well, it will stop a lot of jerks.
