I'm going to sell my 360, Xbox, PS2, GC and DS - and my laptop also since I play old C&C games on it, my library of games and buy a PS3 and then shoot myself for being so ignorant in the first place.

Actually read the entire article and take a few seconds to reflect before posting. It is obvious that some on here are responding to the headline without having read the article.
This is the trend of videogames. What is interesting about Epic is that it is making both exclusives - Gears for the 360 and multi-platform - UT 2007 for the PC, PS3 and 360.
Who knows what is going to happen, and as a gamer, not a fanboy who happens to own a 360, I am fully aware that some 360 "exclusives" may find themselves on other consoles - and, you know what? Its ok! I just want to play great games.
Too often we've seen ports that lack the punch of the original. I own a 360 and I'm thrilled that the PS3 is getting a great version of this game - it means more titles like this in the future for everyone.
What matters is demand 6-9 months from now - during the fall/holiday season when the industry does the majority of its business.

You missed the entire point of my post.
Were the reason for the PS2's success. You could play Madden online on a PS2 two years before it was playable on LIVE. Same thing with GTA - they were timed exclusives, but for a long time, they were perceived to never come out on another console. Games like FF, MGS, and DMC certainly have a following, and are system sellers for that niche, but the general public - the people buying all the Wiis now - don't care about these games.
