Why are they providing us with so many ways to NOT to use the new controller?

Haha, wouldn't have been nearly as funny without that music.

Did they REALLY think the RMAH was going to be safe in the first place? I mean good god, has there ever - in the entire history of gaming - been a game that hackers could NOT hack?

How can their relatively puny team even hope to secure a game against entire NATIONS of hackers out there? In the end (and this is something that just gets repeated over and over, I know) the only ones that are being penalized by all this bullshit are the honest consumers.

The HL fanbase is nothing like the CoD fanbase. You don't need to get all defensive. People just disagree with the fact that you're writing off one of the most well-regarded singleplayer games in the industry (probably second only to OoT as far as notoriety is concerned) as a simple victim of the bandwagon mentality.

It's like accusing The Godfather of being popular for the same reason Transformers is.

What does it matter? It's not as if Bayonetta or Lollipop Chainsaw are anymore contextually sound than Hitman Absolution. They were designed that way for the sole purpose of inducing nerd boners. If you're okay with one, you should be okay with the other.

Except that this is really the first generation that hasn't relied exclusively on physical discs. Hell, technically we don't even own the games we buy nowadays. We're really just renting the right to play the games. Things have become RIDICULOUSLY more complicated since the days of CD keys and patches.

I mean, yes, we could all just jump on a private server, but that's hardly what I would call "gaming getting easier" as time goes on when I can simply...

It would be incredible if the soundtracks were fully orchestrated as well...though that's obviously just a pipe-dream.

I think that's the precedent that the article is referring to. Is Mass Effect a great series because of it's fans? Is Bioshock? Is Shadow of the Colossus? Etc.

No.

Those games are great because, as you said, they're made by great developers. Fans are not great developers. To be so egocentric that you believe EVERYTHING they do has to adhere to your personal expectations is absolutely ridiculous and not in any way, shape or form conducive to proces...

Better be cheap. Better be REAL cheap.

There's really not much more to say about it. It's a terrible, terrible business model and I hope to God this is not the direction gaming is headed.

First of all, people started REALLY complaining about the HULU ads when they started running them even for HULU Plus members.

Second of all, what kind of logic is it to suggest that we shouldn't be aggravated by this because it has become commonplace in a completely different industry? I think we can all agree that ads and commercials are just as goddamned annoying on TV as they will be here. It's just that nothing can be done at this point.

Yes, as a matter of fact there ARE some emulators floating around and private servers are starting to pop up. Granted they're not full-featured at this point, but the very existence of private servers should indicate to you that yes, this DRM is bullshit.

Well thank god we're paying Blizzard to implement all this anti-piracy bullshit. Obviously it's working like a charm.

I think it still looks pretty great, actually. D3 looks great too, but personally I think D2 fits the setting of the game a lot better than the WoW-inspired vibrancy of 3.

I agree with you for the most part...but why are you saying "genera"?

5133d ago 5 agree1 disagreeView comment

I don't think people understand the implications of this proposition. There would be NON-STOP shagging.

Just imagine: you're raiding a high-level dungeon, tanking an epic boss and you're about to die when you look over and see...what looks like a Caligula-inspired orgy going on between all the clerics.

...and then to add insult to injury, you realize that you're most likely partying with a bunch of other dudes who are at home yanking it over t...

God that was a retarded interview...

If you want to see more Triss boobs, though, you've come to the right place.

Yeah, seriously. The company has become so massive that they've apparently lost all control.

Plus, I don't know about this. Personally FFXII was one of my favorite FF's, but given Square-Enix's track record for sequels, this could be very, very bad.

AND Matsuno (and I think a lot of the Tactics team responsible for XII, actually) is no longer working for the company. This is just an all around terrible idea.

Well, I'm still having fun with the game, but I gotta admit...nothing the article mentions is wrong. The updated presentation will keep me playing for a while, but in most ways the game is a rather large step back from D2, and that's not even taking into account the tyrannical DRM that Blizzard/Activision seems to think is vital to the success of the game.

I mean sure, it's easier for just about anyone to pick up and play now, but is that really what anyone wanted...

Dude, what the hell happened? I know there have been a few vague explanations here and there, but I haven't seen a game company tank that hard that early in a very long time.

After KOA, I thought for sure they would be going places.
