^I was going to say something, but you explained it perfectly there.
People complain when developers piss them off as well. It's sad, too, because in it's own right the game is looking pretty impressive.
If you want to get down to the nitty gritty of it all, the only two things the developers did wrong with this game are:
1. They opened their mouths
and
2. They called it Devil May Cry
Personally, I feel like it's become more a matter of hurt feelings and bruised eg...
Yeah, seriously. I suppose that was just a personal opinion because the game was both a commercial and critical success back in 2004.
It was overshadowed a little bit by Half-Life 2 which released only a few months later, but it was still loved by critics and gamers alike. I definitely loved it.
Not really an issue for honest players, but still ridiculous that it even needs to be put into effect given all the BS Blizzard has put it's consumers through to combat this kind of activity in the first place...
Wonderful. Another TPS I've just instantly lost all interest in. How can new players stay competitive and get excited about putting the time in to unlock that stuff honorably when the dickholes of the gaming world are just going to buy all the best stuff from the get-go?
Pardon my language, but DLC has turned into such bullshit...
I interpreted all that as irony, but I think you're actually being serious...
I love my 3DS as much as the next guy, but at $249 I did NOT feel like I got my money's worth out of the system. I mean yeah, graphically it still feels a little underpowered, but it really had more to do with the overall cheapness of the hardware, like the flimsy nub, the plastic-y buttons, and the utter blandness of the 3D in most of the launch window games.
$169 is a MUCH more appropriate price.
^I think the point is that there are other venues out there for that, um....niche market other than mainstream video games (or at least relatively mainstream).
Not that this game is even going to feature any of that. If it's anything like any of their other games, it's going to be mostly ridiculously big breasted women.
What they're trying to say is that they've moved away from the "little boy fantasies" of guns, explosions and boobies, and more toward the nuanced, mature male fantasies of guns, explosions and boobies.
You really pick up that extra "nuance" in that one scene....what was it? Oh, the one where the main character was totally banging that hot tribal chick and then when he jumps out that window and it's like BOOM, bang, pshaaaaa...
Ironically, I feel like the prejudices between male and female gamers are intensified by retarded, purposely incendiary articles like these...
Does anyone else see the redundant obviousness of the statement: "MOBILE GAMERS Prefer Smartphones And Tablets To Home Consoles"?
I'm pretty hardcore patriotic, but when it comes to the power and frivolity of big business in this country, I don't really blame ANYONE for their frustration.
But there have been many, MANY mass murderers throughout history that have had no discernible mental disorder. There's really no viable solution at this point.
Stricter laws = guns legally out of the hands of citizens and still illegally in the hands of criminals
Laxer laws = guns bought easily by everyone, but with the obvious caveat that there are a LOT of people out there (whether they are mentally stable or not) that should never be allowed to carry f...
I can kinda see Kleiner...
Or like a young Ed Begley Jr.
It's a pretty scary game...the first time you play it. Considering the repetitiveness of it all and the lack of polish (even for an indie game), in it's current form it will never really hold a candle to the perpetual dread that a game like Amnesia provides for all of it's six or seven hours of playtime.
Not to mention that in Slender the only difference there is in failing and collecting all eight pages is a credits reel. It's really only good for that very f...
I'd have mentioned Sam & Max: Hit the Road, Borderlands and Left 4 Dead too. The only ones I don't really think were are all that great from the list are Kingdom Hearts and Sonic and Knuckles. Nothing wrong with them, but they're kind of unremarkable in my opinion.
It's sad that in general Japan gets so much more interesting boxart than we do here in the US.
I replayed it just a couple of months ago. There's still nothing like it. To say that it's just "a basic shooter" is ridiculous.
There are so many innovative concepts in the game that developers to THIS DAY are still floundering to emulate (physics based puzzles and combat, a narrative told almost exclusively through gameplay, a setting and design that has influenced both movies AND video games, etc. etc.).
I guess I just disagree wholeheart...
Heh, yeah.
And you gotta love the evidence:
“This has been something he has really been into. And now we’re going to find, probably on facebook or anybody who knows him will say, ‘Yeah, he did have a lot of interest in that, He was always playing the video games.”
Because you know...the mentally sound 20-somethings out there are NEVER into video games.
Yeah, I'm happy for them I guess, but....it was just a little weird. They were acting like he was getting home from Afghanistan or something.
They assumed correctly.
