I don't know why people fail to understand this. There is no objectivity in a review. The word "objective" nowadays is thrown around to the point that it has become absolutely meaningless.
It is generally understood (by those that are not otherwise blinded by nerd rage) that a review consists purely of observations based on a given authors experience with something. When an author says "Dragon's Dogma's story does not compare to Dragon Age," th...
They've obviously got some pretty talented artists and modelers, but I think they bit off more than they could chew with the budget they were given. Such a sad story. I loved Kingdoms of Amalur.
You're obviously entitled to your opinion, but you should probably learn to accept that the general consensus for this game seems to be that it is one of the best JRPG's in a good, long while.
It probably wouldn't hurt if you didn't go about voicing your opinions in the douchiest way possible, either.
Man, that art style really is fantastic.
It's like a mix between Disney and WoW.
They are getting off too easy...but the thing is, that's the way all of this has been designed from the get-go. I mean, what do fans do now if they are unsatisfied with a product? There is absolutely no concept of ownership in the market anymore. Once you buy PC games nowadays, that's it. They have your money. There is nowhere to return it, nowhere to resell it, nothing to do with it other than complain fruitlessly to everyone else that's pissed off until the wound heals and all t...
I think most doctors would agree that "resisting sleep" is not conducive to living a long healthy life...
I think most people that weren't complete idiots would say the same...
It just doesn't feel like Max Payne most of the time anymore. It's not game ruining, obviously, but it is a little disappointing that the noir aspects of the previous games have been foregone in favor of a more mainstream, testosterone-fueled action setting.
Still love the game, and the setting is still exciting and intriguing in it's own way, but some of the magic is missing this time around in my opinion.
Seriously. Still getting stuttering, lag, and random kicks, especially during peak hours.
And I really don't understand why people keep assuming this is just going to "blow over" with time. I still get lag and kicks in WoW during peak hours...it's just what server-based gaming entails.
One of the sets looks to just be a "purchasable progress" pack. It lets you get better pawns from the get-go.
The other two though...sigh...look to be content and quests.
It is Capcom, after all...
*SPOILERS* in there, for those that haven't finished the game yet. They don't give any warning.
I was going to say almost the exact same thing. Bubs
Yeah, I'm actually loving the game regardless of the streamlining in some areas.
But the constant connection is killing this game for me. I still get constant stuttering, sometimes crippling lag, and I even occasionally get kicked from the servers...when I'm playing by myself.
Granted this particular comment is obviously racist (it would have been if it HADN'T included the word), but that's ridiculous, backwards logic right there.
We're past the point of assuming that black people are incapable of forming bonds with people of other races that are as strong as they share inherently with every other person in the world that just happens to have the same skin color. So if a white person and black person can potentially be just as close and...
There will be a crack. There will be private servers. It's only a matter of time.
I don't mean to suggest that I'm rooting for the pirates, but if a cracked game is what it takes for Blizzard to see that this policy is absolutely ridiculous, then I say...release the hounds.
^ I 100% guarantee that private servers will be up within the coming months, rendering this whole DRM bullshit moot.
In other words, sure the multiplayer will be secure, but singleplayer and/or LAN play will be open to cheating...just like if Blizzard had had an offline singleplayer option.
I really like the game but I gotta admit, I kinda wish I had done the same. It makes me feel guilty knowing that buying the game validated Blizzard's business practices.
Well, I guess my reasoning is that...one is ignorable, and the other is not.
One cost me $60, and one is something that I don't even have to pay any attention to.
KOTOR would be really good, yeah. Since it's so unlikely though, there are some mods and hacks to get the games working in widescreen on the PC versions. And Psychonauts actually has a native widescreen resolution built in (though that's just FYI, because Psychonauts is not even on the list).
It didn't even need to happen. "Always on" gaming has got to be the biggest waste of time and resources the industry has ever seen.
At the risk of sounding like a Blaxploitation film...it's just another case of the man trying to keep us down.
I think a lot of times it's a matter of context more than a lack of ability, too. I mean, context pretty much flies out the window when Niko claims to be a fairly reluctant, repentent gangster in the cutscenes...and then seemingly mass murders hundreds and hundreds of people through the course of the game, and that's if the player is good and doesn't randomly decide to go on a killing rampage.
There's just no way to write around that...
