Oh, I didn't know that, hehe. The writers literally didn't write the ending...
That DOES explain a lot.
It didn't really seem like a corporate fat-cat ending to me, to be honest. It would have seemed more corporate to me if it was a "happily ever after" affair. As it was, though, the ending was just...weird, totally off the wall and completely devoid of context.
Or did you mean that the writers were forced to throw something together quickly because of publisher deadlines? Because I could totally see that.
Edit: and I agree with the article too. ...
This is just a matter of Western culture's MASSIVE influence on modern Japanese pop culture. It's not a phenomenon that started with video games. Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy, for instance, looked to Disney when designing his characters and settings for the series, and many popular music genres that spawned in the West were eventually adopted overseas as well.
I mean, obviously they've made all these things their own in very unique ways, but as with th...
The vast majority of 3 was good as well. I didn't like the ending either, but the internet (predictably) blew this way, WAY out of proportion.
Not that anyone was obligated to like the ending, but good god. It was like Bioware assassinated Mother Teresa or something.
Very eloquently stated. I agree with you 100%
Story, characters and setting are really what this game had going for it. I mean, I loved it, but it definitely had problems in the gameplay department.
They should have told us that from the get-go. That's a pretty big issue with the original models. I'll definitely be trading up now.
I haven't played Recettear, but the rest of the games I know are great.
Grimrock is a great, old-school dungeon crawler.
To the Moon sort of runs on autopilot most of the time, but the story is really great.
Cthulhu Saves the World was a surprisingly funny and fun JRPG-inspired game.
I mean...game looks solid, but 'solid' doesn't really count for much when so little of the game looks original and unique.
Friendship really is magic, though. You guys know that, right?
I will be buying and playing Torchlight 2.
Diablo 3 is not a terrible game (if you don't count Blizzard's business model, that is), but Torchlight 2 looks closer to a Diablo 2 sequel than Diablo 3 itself, really.
It's not that I don't think there is sexism in the industry, but it really irks me that something like the Tomb Raider trailer is what's causing the most uproar in the industry right now.
It really just seems that supporters of feminism (whether it be traffic-hungry journalists or ACTUAL female gamers) react EVERY TIME something violent or sadistic happens to women, regardless of the context in which it is presented. The Tomb Raider trailer did not have Lara bou...
Man, this is sad. I mean, I'm sure it's still going to be a pretty good action game. It's just not looking like it's going to be a good "Dead Space" anymore.
And where am I going to get a monkey on the cheap? Jesus Christ. You think Monkeys just grow on trees or something?
A monkey, she says...
If I had a monkey, do you think I would even be here typing all this out? No. I would be out enjoying the fun the monkey provides me.
This is all well and good, but will it let me get tanooki Mario for the entire game?
My list would be a lot different I think. I'm just not into the whole friday-night-stripper look, I suppose. I would have included Alyx, Jade, and Farah at least.
Yeah, that ain't right. That's exactly why I will NEVER be using the RMAH.
It's such a stupid argument, too. It's like the difference between portraying the horrors of violence in a movie like Saving Private Ryan and glorifying violence in...well, any given Michael Bay film.
I hope that at least some of these supposedly intelligent journalists aren't so stupid that they are unable to perceive context. I'm fairly certain this is just the next big traffic-bait story.
They probably just forgot to render it. Hair is an easy thing to forget.
Lol:
“Dead or Alive 5 will rise beyond sex and violence and instead pursuing a direction that contains emotional experiences that can move players.”
"whether it’s a stunning set of female fighter swimsuits for preorders or an entire luxurious package complete in an embossed metal case for the Collector’s Edition, players will get something that enriches their gaming experience.”
