I don't really like being associated with the folks that accuse every pretty lady portrayed in the media of conforming to a sexist agenda (and god knows given our lack of context, this is not the time to already be throwing the "sexist" card around for this game), but it WOULD be nice to get some female characters that weren't super-sexualized and/or over-empowered. ^And that IS true. Not every game needs to be something completely new and innovative, and in my opinion a sequel can be just as good, if not better, than an original if they're done well enough.
Unfortunately developers and publishers have put a black mark on "sequels" because they often end up turning into derivative cash cows.
Don't know why you're getting disagrees. It probably WAS Sega, given their long running vendetta against Shining Force fans (we're talking like, George Lucas levels of hate for the fans), and YouTube has become undeniably infamous for the copyright trolling since Google took over.
Basically big companies like Sega are trolling and youtube encourages the behavior.
Well, I guess it's like anything else. Pokemon is accessible enough to be fun for just a playthrough of the story, but well designed enough to be picked apart by enthusiasts who feel like they need to master the mechanics and become ultimate Pokemon Masters.
Seriously, people were giving this game WAY more attention than it ever deserved.
It's obviously better than the grammar-deficient flash games out there that all seem to be made by sexually confused 13 year olds, but it's still just poorly written porn...which to be honest, I have no problem with, but apparently the "game" portions just make the experience a total drag.
I don't mean to sound negative, but this is one ridiculously inane, generic looking MMO. There seems to be next to nothing that sets it apart from the wash of free-to-play MMORPG's flooding the market these days.
I like ninja's and samurai as much as the next guy, but it's just been done already. I've really come to appreciate the fact that Assassin's Creed is always set in periods and places that are not common in the gaming industry.

People don't know when they're letting fear and mourning cloud their better judgement. I understand that people have trouble explaining things like all these recent shootings, but that doesn't make their witch hunts any more righteous.
The best thing we can possibly do as gamers is to compose ourselves and not become guilty of the same cloudy judgement when we deal with these ass clowns.
Yeah, I thought it was pretty widely accepted as the best game of the franchise. I know it's still my favorite.

It's just a crappy porn game that has become a sort of "martyr-in-disguise" simply because it was barred from Greenlight.
I mean, I love porn, but I know the difference between a thought provoking depiction of eroticism and something that was made specifically for me to fap to.

People always say that, but I can honestly say I have never met anyone that plays games like this with their significant other...
I loved FF12, and to be honest I loved for many of the same reasons I think 13 is one of the poorest entries ever.
FF12 concerned itself much more with fantasy politics than a lot of FF fans were used to, so a lot of the soap-opera melodrama between characters was dropped for a much broader tale of political intrigue.
FF13 was rife with self-important philosophizing and humorless melodrama, and it almost felt like parody to me. The actual story was interestin...
I'm totally with Hydra here (bunch of bubbles for you, btw). I enjoy looking at attractive ladies as much as the next guy, but the industry almost always treats attractiveness and sexuality as exploitation rather than an aesthetic.
It's not that I don't think attractiveness should exist within a game, but it should not exist contrary to context. Alyx Vance, for example, is attractive and interesting and memorable and *gasp* does it without wearing a dominatrix out...
Don't get me wrong, Persona 4 was definitely goty material, but I don't think a remaster should be eligible for goty.
It might be more accurate to label them a "compulsion" to some people. "Addiction" suggests a degree of physical dependence. If you quit gaming, you're not going to go into withdrawals.
