I agree. Metroid totally should have been a guy.
I remember playing and saying to myself, "why is metroid not a guy?" Some questions will never be answered.
There hasn't been any indication that they're struggling with their budget, only with their time frame. How could they possibly be having problems with a budget that was 8x what they were asking for?
There are some crazy good looking games coming out for both systems, as far as I can tell.
The internet...Jesus Christ.
If you buy into "digital games," you are not truly purchasing anything. You are essentially paying for a license to play the game. Hell, even physical copies of our games these days come with so much DRM BS that it would be innaccurate to say that we truly own anything but the flimsy boxes they come in.
People should have realized this a LONG time ago. There wouldn't really be a problem with this if there were any real advantages to paying for the "service&...
It's so strange to me that "fans" of a franchise are so unable to disassociate older entries from newer entries in a series, even if said entry is a reimagining that makes absolutely no attempt to fit into the original canon.
You would really rather see a series die than to see it stop retreading the same territory over and over and over and over again?
I loved the Sands of Time, and yet I STILL would love to see either a continuation of the ...
You can't think of it in terms of what other games are trying to achieve. It's as simple as that. If you can get past the lack of any sort of narrative or artificial structure, then you can start having fun just collecting, surviving, planning and inevitably shaping an entire world out of the simple core mechanics provided. You can create your own objectives if you absolutely feel like you have to cross a finish line, but more than anything, you just have to break the habit of assumin...
Unfortunately, I agree with Logic, but not because I don't think the shouldn't have spoken out. Rather because he spoke out in a way that made him seem like any other raging blogger. That's just not the way to deal with this.
Contrary to internet belief, people that don't understand a particular subject don't respond well to what they perceive as fanaticism. It only gives the idiots more fuel to add to the fire, and Jaffe "going off" on Burnett, ...
The hard truth here is that mods are just people; people fully capable of exhibiting nauseating levels of bias and fanboyism (forgive me for using the word, but it applies) just like the rest of us. It's easy to see a borderline penalty going one way or the other because of one particular mod's bias toward the commenter or even just the position of a particular opinion that they may or may not have liked.
Unfortunately nowadays, the internet is so sensitive to "t...
Yeah, hope it was worth compromising their artistic integrity, cause they ain't gonna reach that number regardless.
Should have just made the game they and all their fans wanted in the first place.
First rule of film making: make due with what you got.
With only a few cheap props, a couple of suits and some basic aftereffects, sorry, you're a little outside the realm of "space epic."
It just wasn't all that convincing, or even interesting.
It does look stunning, but it's way, WAY too early to try and replace the HD standard at this point. HD had been around for a few years prior to the previous generation of consoles, and price was STILL a very large barrier of entry at that point.
Imagine a bunch of companies producing around a standard that is still very much in it's infancy...
I think console gamers are just aware that "graphics" consist of more than simply the sum of a game's tech.
Generally when people refer to "generations" they are referring to console generations, not years.
And though Golden is an excellent re-release, it's still a re-release, in my opinion. Though I'll admit that I see where people are coming from on that front. They did add a LOT of content.
I have literally never paid a dime for any progress I could unlock by simply playing a game.
So I know I ain't part of that BS.
I like a good, natural difficulty in games sometimes, and yes, Dark Souls is a good example of a game that gets it almost perfect.
But just like any other broad generalization, I don't think it needs to apply to every game ever made. In games like Far Cry 3 or Dishonored, for instance, it would become restrictive to have to be so careful at all times when the real fun comes from the constant experimentation and mechanic variety. You would just end up finding the most viab...
The good news is that you can still enjoy the claustrophobia of the first two games even after you have played and liked this game for different reasons.
Persona 4 is not of this generation....
One of my favorite games ever, but still not of this generation.
Not that I don't think they CAN replace SE as the new go-to for consistently excellent JRPG's, but I don't think they're quite there yet. Xenoblade is EXCELLENT, but the rest of the company's output has been a bit too inconsistent to hand over the crown just yet.
They may be a...well a VERY different company now, but Square has been responsible for too much awesome over the years to just throw them to the curb over a single bad generation.
I wonder if he understands that he is undermining the fundamental principles of democracy by telling people not to speak up concerning political policy...
This guy needs to leave politics...now.
He was really only referring to the "fetchy" structure and backtracking that was so prevalent in the first game. I can tell you after about five hours that it feels even more like a series of chores in this one, only the tension has pretty much been done away with so you're essentially just walking around doing a bunch of menial tasks for people.
The first game REALLY had the atmosphere and isolation going for it, so it never felt that grindy, but you were stil...
