I know, it's funny that Capcom made no less than two out of four bad DMC games BEFORE NT was involved, and yet...NT is apparently ruining the franchise's legacy...
I have to say, I was really digging the controller for this first month or so (and I still like it for Netflix and other apps), but as far as games go, the touch-screen controller has officially revealed itself as a novelty to me. In most cases it's just an annoyance, and to be perfectly honest, I don't see that changing in the future.
If NT hadn't said all that crap about the previous DMC games, none of this would be happening. This is just a bunch of butt hurt DMC fans throwing a hissy fit after Tameem opened his (admittedly) stupid mouth.
It really makes absolutely no difference what ANYONE says at this point, reviewers or otherwise. It's become an Internet vendetta.
Agree with both those things. Drop the silent protagonist schtick and don't punish players for taking the non-lethal route. The game becomes so much more diverse when you decide to take lives.
It still seems kinda floaty and detached, though, with little to no regard for hit detection and proximity, and very little impact feedback.
Maybe I'm missing the point...but you can already find ways to distribute content "openly" on PC.
I think if they really wanted to improve the gaming environment, they could have simply created an open, PC-based distribution service that gave indie developers an easy, viable means for spreading their work.
Instead, I feel like the Ouya is ultimately going to function as little more than an extension of the Google Play store. The vast majority o...
....okay.
How is this going to be scary at all now? I mean, even if he hadn't flat out just told us that there will be times when players don't see the same things, how would that even be frightening after the first time it happened?
I imagine after the first time it's just going to be like, "What? You can't see that enemy? Must be that annoying dementia thing they programmed in..."
It's not like its going to fool you every time it happen...
Yeah, it kind of makes it obvious why this kind of mechanic was never considered before. The first rule of online gaming dictates that players will act like dicks at every given opportunity, and Day Z gives players pretty much the maximum amount of opportunities to act like dicks
...so...you know...gonna be a lot of dicks out there.
What a great year for JRPG's.
To think that no less than THREE JRPG's would even be considered for GOTY this year. What is this, the 90's!?
"My first cosplay was Hermione Granger from Harry Potter and I have cosplayed as Bulma from Dragon Ball, Rei from Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Aigis from Persona 3 just to name A COUPLE."
I giggled at that....
Can't believe I actually read that article...
It must have been 4chan porn.
Maybe he's five years old...
...I'm sorry that my language offended you (though the language was not even directed at you). Just FYI, you may wish to avoid 90% of the games we're talking about here if you are so readily offended by salty language.
Let me just go down my Steam games list here, and keep in mind that this is not a comprehensive list in the least. These are only the narrative-driven games with terrible endings that I own through Steam:
- Bioshock 1/2 (montages)
Good God...that's a ridiculous cop-out. There is a difference between making a cryptic ending and making an unsatisfying ending. I'm sorry, but if a game is NARRATIVE DRIVEN throughout the first 99% of it's play-time, there needs to be at least SOME effort put into the ending. I don't need all the answers, but I do need to feel like developers didn't pass off the ending to some office interns because they were sick of working on it.
...that means NO GODDAM...
Yeah, the whole thing stinks. It's great that they brought it over, but like a lot of the early Shin Megami Tensei games, it's going to be ridiculously cut-throat on ebay and the like until they decide to do another pressing...if they ever do.
You might just want to bite the bullet and get a used copy on ebay right now for $60-$70, just in case things end up getting even worse as time goes on.
I've never understood that sentiment. You have to figure in how the music works in conjunction with the game, otherwise it would just be a "best albums of 2012" list.
You won't hear anyone humming the music for the Exorcist out in public, and yet it was one of the most endearing, influential soundtracks ever recorded.
"Make it catchy" should never be a prerequisite for making a soundtrack that is written expressly to be performed w...
Can't believe Hotline Miami didn't even get mentioned.
WTF, those Square Enix games are already the most expensive games on the market, and yet their sales are only like two bucks off.
Though Diablo 3 is not a terrible game, I feel like this game deserves a much bigger limelight than the Blizzard powerhouse this time around. It was excellent, through and through. If they had Blizzard levels of money to throw at stuff like voice-work, cutscenes and other presentational features, there wouldn't even be a contest.
