Well, I suppose the age of Blizzard is coming to a close. Everything they do nowadays seems to indicate that they're only in this to squeeze a few sleazy bucks out of the community they built up over the years. Case in point, does it surprise anyone that they're suddenly trying to cash in on the MOBA craze?
Me neither.
Also kind of hoping the midi soundtrack gets an orchestrated upgrade as well?
You know, it's actually a little surprising. I went looking for the game late on Tuesday, and it was surprisingly difficult to find. I tried two Gamestop's and a Best Buy before I found a copy at Target.
I thought maybe they just underestimated the buzz for this game and under-shipped, but apparently there's a problem?
No, you're right. The fact that it is a video game is what automatically makes it art.
Not every game is going to be what the average person would consider "inspired" art, but it IS art as long as it is an expression of imagination....and that's every video game ever made.
What a ridiculously pretentious article. It's the equivalent of a 90 year old man looking at a Pollock and proclaiming, "that ain't art." Don't try ...
Maybe the members will reform under another name and could eventually be picked up by Nintendo, but Vigil, in it's original form, effectively dissolved when they were not "acquired" during THQ's auction.
I WANT that Monolith game.
When they got in that mech and started flying around and battling monsters...
Well, let's just say my penis became erect, if you know what I mean.
As a piano.
Har har har.
But seriously, game was boss.
There's a REAL lack of polish (blurry cards, ugly menus, terrible music), but the core card mechanics are as great as ever.
Plus, I've been saying for a while that Magic should take a page from this franchise and make a "block" of cards available in-game along with a deck editor. Deck building has always been the REAL meat of CCG's as far as I'm concerned, and the Yu-Gi-Oh games play into that aspect very well.
You should care. There will always be stupid people buying into this stupid crap, and the more these devs and pubs think they can get away with...the more they will try to get away.
As in, to the point that the actual core games begin to suffer. Surely you're not so blind that you can't see that it's already been happening.
It's a satirical article. It's not meant to be taken literally.
While I too am disappointed that the game has lost a bit of it's roots over time, I think it would still be prudent to judge the game on it's own terms, at least to a degree.
It may not be the best HORROR the franchise has ever achieved, but from the look of things, it definitely looks like an incredible action game.
No, it's excellent. Maybe not Ghibli's most creative universe or story ever, but it's still got that magic touch that no other studio has. Add that to Level 5's know how and you've got one of the best RPG's of the generation.
So far, I mean. I've only played a few hours.
I've got to say, on the Ghibli side of things, it is maybe a tad less creative than most of their other works, but their creative touch mixed with Level 5's RPG know how make it ridiculously awesome. One of the best RPG's of the generation, in my opinion.
Gotta disagree with you, there. There's a TON of awesome looking stuff coming out just in the next couple of months:

You must have played a REALLY good round of Uno.
Yeah, I can understand them not wanting the sale of their IP to be in the hands of a publisher that JUST went bankrupt.
No, I'm sorry. I don't know why I responded as if I was in opposition to you. I agree.
You're missing the point. Micro-transactions are almost always the result of developers picking apart their finished games and re-monetizing the content.
It's one thing to do it with free-to-play games, but it's ESPECIALLY annoying with FULL PRICE console games that are ridiculously bare-bones if you choose not to spend more than the $60 asking price on the micro-content.
In this particular case, though, it just sounds like a cheat pack. Never re...
Bubble voted you, there.
Personally I love a good, Japanese-flavored game, but the really good ones, such as Persona 4, succeed IN SPITE of their cultural influences. Still a very Japanese game, yes, but it doesn't succeed BECAUSE it is Japanese.
But then you also get ridiculously Japanese games like Mugen Souls that appeal to a VERY small group of individuals outside of Japan because they're just a collection of safe, profitable cliches and tropes, s...
