Yeah, there's a fair case to be made for both games, so lets not resort to idiocy here. Dishonored is not generic OR overrated...
No, I GET it, but that doesn't make it any less sad.
I think most of us know that the cover has little to no bearing on the actual game. It's just sad to think that a game that is so far removed from other generic shooters is being represented as just another generic shooter.
And there's really no arguing with that sentiment, because....just look at that damn cover. It doesn't get much more generic.
Yeah, the sci-fi ones didn't really fit, but still made me lol. The other ones...that's just kinda sad that it fits so well.
Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. They don't necessarily need to change the format or add a bunch of crappy cutscenes, but if the dialog with the NPC's could be fleshed out a bit I think that would help a lot.
In fact I think if the NPC's were fleshed out in general, it could help a lot. There were a lot of really creepy, weird characters in Dark Souls that didn't get to spread their wings beyond the purpose they served within the game (ie, merchants, ...
Because video gaming is as viable a medium as any other form at this point. Just looking at the nominees and winners should be enough of an indicator that the video game demographic has moved quite a bit beyond the bro-tastic frat boy crowd that's automatically satisfied by a pair of boobs and a bunch of random explosions.
In fact at this point, I'd argue that the show is doomed to continually miss the point simply for the network it's on.
I friggin loved pretty much everything he did up until the second Fable, and I could even accept that he's had a bad patch this last decade or so, but the way he's carried himself during those off-years has inevitably lead me to believe that he's just an entitled little whiner that's too impressed by his own past accomplishments to pick himself up and simply deliver a great game that doesn't promise to change people's lives.
I have no respect for a man...
Well, because of Mika's stupidity, this has once again degraded into a bunch of dudes resorting to the old stand-by "why peoples like violence but no sex?"
....which is a ridiculous argument for so many reasons, one of them being that it's no less than a logical fallacy (tu quoque).
Sexuality, just like violence, is often inserted gratuitously into video games. The act's right to appear in our art does not automatically validate it's...
It really keeps with the "bro-tastic" themes of the game, though that should really be a condemnation of the writing, not of sex in video games. Mika seems to just generally dislike the presence of sex in any setting other than a dark, real world bedroom in which the participants cannot see each other.
....just to be clear, despite my distaste for the main characters it's still one of my favorite games of the year.
Yeah, it's not a matter of whether or not people want a new IP or another Metal Gear. All the evidence is pointing pretty obviously to a another Metal Gear game.
I know, right? I don't see how this generates more buzz than just showing the actual game... what's the point? Especially when they make it THIS obvious.
Seriously, all praise be to Jebus for this.
Wtf is wrong with you people? This is an article about being excited for a game, and it automatically morphs into fanboy name-dropping?
ALL those games look great. How ****ing ridiculous is it to argue about which game is better BEFORE any of them are released?
How do I get you my money? I want you to take my money.
Didn't really help the issue, to be honest. In fact, I don't know about other cards, but I'm running a couple of 560ti's and I saw almost no performance gain whatsoever from these drivers.
You always have to take those percentages with a grain of salt, in my experience.
No, Rage is literally one of the most technically embarrassing high profile games ever released, in all seriousness. Mass Effect is bad, but it's not THAT bad.
There are no generalizations to be made here. Some games are great because of their narrative (Heavy Rain), some are great for their gameplay alone (Mario Galaxy), some are great because they have a little of both (Bioshock).
I don't know why people have to pigeonhole the formula for a successful game. There's more than one way to make an entertaining game.
Jeez. Did anyone else see that chicks boobs just now?
It really would, though just the fact that there are TWO unanimous candidates (Journey and Walking Dead) is already a landmark, really.
I love that big, stupid AAA action games are not the only games people are looking to nowadays for GOTY.
Viral marketing, I'm guessing....or the man has just become chronically depressed because the Secret World isn't doing too well. Ah well. Back to the Longest Journey with you guys.
