Bioshock 2 gets too much hate. I loved the story. Definitely not as crazy impressive as the first game, but it was still one of the best games of 2010 as far as I'm concerned.
Still, there's no doubt in my mind that Infinite is going to match or exceed the first one.
All forms of entertainment get similar treatment, actually. Don't know what world you're living in.
And it's funny that you think indulging childish jokes is helping the medium to "mature."
The controversy was not in the scene itself, but in the off-color achievement that read as if it was created by some sexually frustrated fratboy.
Granted, I think this is getting MUCH more attention than it should be, but I also don&...
They act like we don't notice that this is a common trend with studios that are "acquired" by EA.
Come on guys. Have some goddamn integrity for chrissakes.
Edit:
Yeah, what Smikey said.
Nothing they can give us could really justify the metaphorical raping they've given us with this game, shy of maybe an offline patch.
Funny enough, it will probably just be some future DLC they took out of the finished game to begin with.
Sounds legit, but I'm actually already tied up in a serious deal with a Nigerian Prince that's going to make me millions. Sorry.
Yeah, it kinda confused me when it was first announced, because...she's pretty much the same as she was in the first game.
Mattress sled scene?
Classic.
The difference is that Steam is a viable service. Sure, you are technically paying for an indefinite rental rather a product when you buy from Steam, but the games are often ridiculously cheap, the servers are generally very reliable and fast, games are easily organizable, and it actually makes playing games between multiple computers very convenient (as long as it's with the same account).
Valve seems to be the only such service that treats it AS A SERVICE rather than an...
I don't mean to sound like I think the lgbt community is "insignificant" but heterosexual game developers should not have to adjust their vision to cater to a particular demographic.
I'm sorry you are underrepresented in the industry, but perhaps you should be trying to raise interest within your community instead of trying to force your lifestyle on others.
You can create multiple cities. It would be very easy to play singleplayer in this game. You already can, its just you always have to be on....which as anyone can tell, is a disasterous requirement...
About nine tenths of the review was about the wealth of design and aesthetic issues he thought the game suffered from, and yet:
"Adam is wrong, plain and simple. To say that a trophy name can ruin the game is to admit you either A)Didn't care for the game right from the start and were looking for a reason to justify that, or B)Really need to look at yourself and your priorities if you can be offended by something so small in such a profound way that it ruins an entir...
The devs should really be the ones that are ashamed. Any idiot could have told them that they would never reach the ridiculous goals set by EA. If they were going down either way, they should have just made the game they and everybody else wanted.
Instead they just look like so many other devs these days: corporate puppets.
Pretty much what SDF said. It's not really a competitive fighting engine, but it's good for the DC fanservice.
I don't remember saying "graphics = gaming."
I'm sorry if that's all you gleaned from my comment there, but my actual point was that it looks simple and unattractive in EVERY respect, from gameplay to presentation (though you can't really go wrong with Uematsu), like it was originally designed for the less discerning mobile market....which it WAS.
It looks pretty awful, and this is coming from a guy that has been playing Harvest Moon...
It was originally supposed to be a mobile title...and it's easy to see those origins. It looks exceedingly simple and, let's be honest, downright ugly. Almost as if they were planning on selling it to...you know....people who don't actually give a crap about gaming.
There certainly is pvp in the game, though Gearbox made absolutely no attempt to make it widely accessible or compelling. It's the very definition of an afterthought.
And I believe you too. I don't think you're lying about loving the game, but to me, the quest for better loot just doesn't give me that same tingly feeling I got when I played it through with my first character. And it also doesnt help that I'd have no one to coop with at this point either. T...
I don't know how some of you guys can devote so much time to a single game. I capped a Siren and got a Mechromancer to lv.32 before I stopped, and I already can't see myself playing again for a good year or two.
To me, it just seems like grinding gears after I've finished the story and reached the cap. It's not as if the PvP is all that compelling.
Jesus. Bears running around tearing peoples balls off sort of does sound like something that might happen on judgement day, to tell the truth.
Yeah, even on it's own terms, it's just not that engaging. Building up into a specialized city feels especially redundant now too. With so much of the micromanaging streamlined out of the game, every city feels like it requires the same groundwork processes until it finally reaches a point where a it can be specialized.
Plus everything you said was pretty spot on too.
