Your making an assumption. Quite frankly, we don't know when NX will be released even if is announced at E3 2016. While it does appear that Nintendo may be winding down on Wii U releases, it's not like Wii had a great 5th year in 2011 where it was hit with a 10 month software drought of no major 1st party releases in North America. 2012 only had scattered releases of Rhythm Heaven, Mario Party 9 and late localized games such as Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower and The Last Story. GameCu...
Nintendo's Satoru Iwata has told us since January 2013 that the next gen consoles will be a separate new handheld and a separate new home console. Iwata explained this when he described Nintendo's plans with what the unified architectural strategy is about.
So what does it mean? Well, it's for making the next handheld and home console use similar architecture and the same operating system so they will be capable of streamlining software development through the us...
Iwata said before E3 that he would not be attending because E3 this year was held a week later than usual and Iwata has Nintendo's investor's meeting to prepare for next week. However, he also said that if Nintendo went to E3 this year to focus on new hardware unveiling, then he would have made an exception to go despite the investor's meeting to prepare for.
E3 2016 will most likely have Nintendo doing a regular E3 press conference because it will most likely be...
I think Sony had an excellent E3, but people are overlooking the fact that it has nothing major and new coming out this year for 1st party support on Ps4. Nothing to replace Uncharted 4 or Ratchet & Clank with. This is the second year now that Sony has dropped the ball and it is a real disappointment. What Sony's conference did was really show us that PS4's future looks bright, but its present year is looking fairly sparse for 1st party support.
Going into Nintendo...
Woah, there. I liked GameCube, but it did not have everything a Nintendo fan could ask for. Nintendo did disappoint fans with Mario Sunshine, a Star Fox spin-off and the controversy over Wind Waker. Third party support was adequate, but it was not nearly as strong as PS2's. It didn't have as many third party exclusives either.
GameCube did do some great things, there is no doubt about that and Nintendo did offer some great spin-offs with Metroid Prime, the excellent...
Nintendo directs can be a blessing and a curse, but overall I would take them every time over not having them at all. It's better to be informed about big and small announcements throughout the year on a general bi-monthly basis than to have to generally wait until E3 to hear about almost all of it.
I'm happy that TLG exists and it looks like it can be a fun game, but for a title that has been in development for as long as it has, I was pretty underwhelmed by the reveal of it. I don't know what Team Ico was doing all this time, but they need to impress us next time. TLG needs to be a game that gets us excited for the right reason, and not mainly because the project is still alive and kicking.
I'm not so sure more DLC will be coming to Mario Kart 8 when Nintendo's already roughly added 50% more content to it in a year's time. Quite frankly, all that this game really needs now is an improved battle mode. If the dev team isn't going to do that, then they may as well move on to a new project.
What are you talking about? Most THIRD PARTY games on Wii U in the past year and later this year ARE just casual titles. Last year, pretty much the only hardcore games from third parties on Wii U were Watch Dogs (a late port) and Sonic Boom.
I wasn't trolling Wii U. I was pointing out the reality of Wii U's situation for third party support.I didn't say all Wii U has are casual third party titles. I said it mostly has casual third party titles. For this year, the...
Agreed about the winner. Nintendo had a short, but cohesive, whimsical and well-paced E3 event last year with a good balance of updates on previously announced titles and new game announcements. There were a couple of pleasant surprises and the new titles showed nearly all gameplay footage too, which is always appreciated. On the downside, the Wii U basically got all of the attention, whilst 3DS was left out in the cold. Microsoft's conference was pretty good, but it would have been ...
Let's be real about one thing: There's really nothing that third parties are going to put on Wii U themselves that likely will be of any interest to most of us. Quite frankly, what is on Wii U nowadays from third parties are justmostly casual titles such has Lego and Disney Skylanders. Nintendo publishing a third-party game can be a different story, of course. At least we hope to see some more of that and what potential projects can came out from that.
If Bayonetta 2 sales are 60k in France, combined with the Japan's media creat sales, but only up to October 5th, then sale are 49k. Add the unconfirmed 157k NPD copies from the NeoGAF insider as of April, then combined sales of the title put it at 266k copies.
Nope. According to a NeoGAF insider, Bayonetta 2 may have sold 157k copies in the U.S. as of April 2015, but Nintendo has not confirmed it. According to Japan's media create sales chart, Bayonetta 2 sold 49k copies by October 5, 2014.For the record, Wii U hardware lifetime sales in Japan back then was only at 1.94 million. The game then fell down the Japanese sales chart, so I don't think we don't know exact sales week to week since then. I don't think Europe has provide...
Hard to say, but we do know a couple of things:
- Director Kamiya is obviously busy with Scalebound
- Hashimoto moved on to a new project in very early development. He said his new project would please fans in 2015, but he likely only meant as a reveal announcement. Also, Hahsimoto was featured in making a comment about having a new project in development that was featured in Japan's Dengeki PlayStation interview.
- Director Eiro Shir...
Yes, but the August date is only for Japan's release schedule.
@ OtakuDJK1NG
I'm willing to buy almost any game as long as its good despite some flaws.
@mike1015
It's not exactly a good looking title even on Wii U. I don't necessarily have a problem with B quality titles (have played my fair share of em in the past), but I was just making an observation is all.
We won't know until we see it. A new game can refer to anything from an original game to a spin-off or a sequel.
I can tell ya right now it ain't going to be Wonderful 101 sequel. The game sold really badly. A shame too since it's quite enjoyable, unique and challenging despite its flaws. The title is most likely an original IP or based on a licensed IP. It could be Metal Gear Rising 2 for all we know.
Nintendo's EAD Group # 5 is working on St...
Looks like a B quality title, hopefully it plays better than it looks. I want to believe in you, Itagaki! Sadly, it will bomb at retail.
According to a 2014 research study by the ESA, the average amount of US households that own two dedicated video game consoles is 51%.
Anyway, on a personal note as a PS4 and Wii U owner, I currently prefer my Wii U.
For the record, as some may not know, Monolith Soft Kyoto is not the same as Monolith Soft Tokyo doing Xenoblade X. The Monolith Soft Kyoto team is a seperate studio branch that co-develops games on Nintendo handheld and home consoles. As of July 2013, the team had 30 members, but have since hired more. The staff members are a collection of artists, animators, character modelers, effect designers, motion designers and other positions that are assigned to various Nintendo home console and ha...
Then why didn't last year's great Nintendo E3 conference sell you on a Wii U ? Stop being ridiculous. You know you weren't going to buy a Wii U to begin with. Nintendo revealed most of its software lineup for Wii U this year back at E3 2014. You knew most of the games coming. The only new ones we saw this year was our first look at Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival and confirmation on Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water'...
