We don't even know what content they will be showing in terms of new games. Satoru Iwata, did confirm recently that there are unannounced Wii U titles to reveal that will be coming out some time before April 2016.
In terms of previously announced titles, we're still waiting for our first look at Star Fox, we've only seen Devil's Third once as of last year's E3, so we'll get an update on that. Fatal Frame 5 and Xenoblade X are without release dates a...
It's a shame Xenoblade X is going to be a really slow burner. Xenoblade 1 only sold around 83k copies in its first week, then 6 months later, the game's total sales for the rest of the year was just 161k copies.
Well said, Gemmol. Some people clearly seem to overlook the fact that Splatoon does provide several visual cues on both the GamePad as well as the TV screen that replaces the need for voice acting as a form of strategic communication to the player. Nintendo producer Hisashi pointed this out as well.
These battles are short, fast-paced, frantic and have you spend more time spraying the ground than killing opponents to win the main objective.
The only voice ch...

Capcom already has a new game engine specifically made to use on PS4, Xbox One and PC. It's called Pantae Rhei. Deep Down is one of the first projects to use this engine if I'm not mistaken. This new, more powerful game engine is meant to replace Capcom's old one, MT FrameWork. The Panta Rhei engine reportedly began development back in summer 2011 and supports Direct X 11. As for Deep Down, the game's development has now been delayed, so it perhaps wo...
Pokken Tournament port sounds pretty reasonable, but the game isn't coming out for Japanese arcade until the summer. A port can take anywhere between 6 months to a year to do, so we wouldn't see it this year.
Intelligent Systems is working on finishing up development on that second Fire Emblem title for 3DS set for release this summer in Japan. They also finished development on Codename Steam a few months ago. In addition, the developer is providing at least produce...
Nintendo is a family-friendly company. It is in their DNA to be passionate about making mostly charming, colorful games with whimsically iconic characters that don't talk and are featured in titles with minimal storytelling. They like to prioritize gameplay as being more important to the interactive aspect of video games over storytelling. Even though a lot of these games are aimed at a younger audience, that doesn't mean older gamers cannot find joy in them too. Same reason why tee...
People who think Nintendo will be a direct competitor in the next generation are setting themselves up for disappointment despite Nintendo's problems with the Wii U. The following are quotes from Satoru Iwata and Miyamoto:
"Only expanding on exiting hardware is dull." - Iwata, March 2015
"What the other companies are doing makes business sense, but it's boring. The same games appear on every system. At Nintendo we want an environment wh...
Naturally, you'll have to wait until E3. Nintendo's at least provided some updates on other upcoming games such as Mario Maker and to a lesser extent, Yoshi's Wooly World and Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei. Although, the latter title will probably slip into 2016 for an overseas release. As for Xenoblade X, I'd expect it will be released in late Q4. Games such as Star Fox are obviously being saved for a full reveal at E3 alongside an updated look at Devil's Third and Fire...
I'm concerned Nintendo will never do a price drop for Wii U while its still getting 1st party software support. They have avoided doing one so far because they want to prioritize profitability and not sell the console at a continued loss. Iwata didn't believe the price was really a problem anyway and showed a lack of confidence in a price drop leading to considerably higher sales unless perhaps Nintendo could first communicate the value of the GamePad to consumers (which it tried to ...
DLC is already confirmed for Splatoon back in April.
“We can’t go into a lot of detail on that today, but we do have some plans to follow up with content to keep interest in the game post-launch. We on the development team are thinking of the launch as a first step of sorts. We hope to add to that in terms of content, and even to the degree that we’re hoping that this will become a franchise that Nintendo can be proud of.” - Nintendo Producer Hisashi Nogami
We know it is officially a Nintendo title Next Level Games is working on. Back in July 2014, the developer confirmed in an interview that it's working exclusively with Nintendo as a long-term publishing partner. It also confirmed that it does have a Wii U dev kit alongside a 3DS dev kit. obviously it has worked on 1 3DS project, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, which took a longer than expected to develop. Maybe Nintendo wants them to adapt to HD development for one project on Wii U.
What are you talking about? Nintendo had a good E3 last year, if not the best of the three and it did it without a press conference too. A lot of sites voted Nintendo won as did a lot of viewer choice polls.
Nintendo has a lot of IPS to choose from, so it is impossible to please everyone, but you're crazy if you think Nintendo doesn't try to please its fanbase. We may never see F-Zero on Wii U, but there are other IPS making an appearance in its place. Some IPS even ...
Retro hasn't revealed what new game it is working on, but we do know that it has been in development since late 2013 according to the Nintendo producer that works with them. Retro did say that when it was deciding on its first Wii U game, it was either going to be a Donkey Kong Country sequel or Metroid. So this new project could be Metroid, but there's a chance Retro was given a new opportunity to work on something else, so we'll just have to wait and see. However, I'm not e...
May 7.
It's embarrassing to see people get into these petty battles over games they haven't even played yet. Grow up. Enjoy the games you are looking forward to, but don't irrationally bash another game that isn't out yet either.
As far as Wii U goes, it has plenty of other currently announced non-Mario spin-offs coming to it. Star Fox, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame X, Shin Megami Tensei, Yoshi's Wooly World Legend of Zelda and even a potential a port of Pokk...
Play what game?
Amiibo does not restrict you from being able to access any of the core package content from any game. You don't need Amiibo to use all of the playable characters, stages and gameplay modes in any Wii U game Nintendo developed and/or published.
You're right. It does baffle me why some people seem to have a problem with understanding the value of amiibo figurines. Nintendo told us exactly what they would be used for.
I like that part of the interview where Iwata said he froze up for a moment and said out loud why the Mario Club's invoice fee was so expensive. Poor bastards at Mario Club and Treehouse have a lot of work to do.
There seems to be different types of quests:
Story quests have required conditions to be met in order to accept them.
Kizuna quests can only be accessed when the affinity between characters reaches an compatible state.Once achieved, you can access heart-to-heart-like moments like in Xenoblade 1 to build affinity even more.
note: You cannot accept Story and Kizuna quests at the same time. Once you accept either one of these quests, they ca...
