Where did you get those Bayonetta 2 sales data from? Is the source VGChartz? Cause if it is, that source is unofficial and generally considered to be unreliable. Platinum Games nor Nintenod have never commented on it either. That's usually not a good sign of a game selling well. Now, We don't know how well Xenoblade Chronicles 1 sold. Nintendo has never released its own sales data for it. All we know is that it took 6 months since the game's Japane...
Why do people think this? EA doesn't hate Nintendo. EA doesn't hate any platform. EA simply doesn't want to risk supporting any platform that isn't viable to its business. This can be said of any third party publisher. It's a logical business decision. EA made the right decision to abandon the console early so it wouldn't lose money on games Wii U owners weren't' going to buy anyway.
Why do you think From Software didn't release Dark Souls ...
A platform winning a console generation isn't based solely on the least powerful console. There's been other major contributing factors such as but not limited to the following:
Marketing
Demographics
Hardware Price point
Third party policies
Multimedia support
Third party support
Year head launch start
Catering to third party interests
Strength of key 1st party IPs
Online service

More like 80k-85k which is quite bad. It's a shame to see Wii U struggling to do triple unit sales in North America, but if Nintendo won't try to change things, then this is what we'll simply see more of until the console's life cycle comes to an end.
While Nintendo made a profit on GameCube, Satoru Iwata still called GameCube a failure due to its low hardware sales and accessories (which Nintendo has historically made more money on than compared to software sales) and inability to capture significant market share. He also questioned Nintendo's future position as a platform holder if Wii couldn't outsell GameCube prior to Wii's launch. GameCube's failure is the reason why Nintendo changed from being a direct competitor to ...
What do you mean? Nintendo just had a Direct video earlier this month that showed other games such as Splatoon, Yoshi's Wooly World and Mario Maker as well as our first look at Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei. In addition, Nintendo gave us an updated look at the Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 DLC.It even confirmed localization for Fatal Frame 5. N64 and DS have been added to the virtual console and we got an updated schedule for new indie game releases. Then there's Splatoon and Yosh...
The monsters, for the most part, pretty much attack in the same ways they did in the original Xenoblade, so it doesn't exactly make for the most entertaining battles to simply just watch. Enemies stand there and are programmed to attack every once in a while, inflicting physical or magical attacks, lowering your defense, and possibly inflicting other status effects that require you to change how you'll fight during battle. If Xenoblade X has things like spike damage effects and a...
There are benefits. According to the unofficially translated version of the last video, you can choose to mix and match your party members to fight in or outside of their mechs. The characters that you want to fight in mechs can take advantage of being equipped with special armor called Doll suits that you can buy for them. These suits boost a mech's performance which I assume means they have improved stats. The only problem is that if you get out of your mech to fight on foot, then you&...
Codename NX is a dedicated gaming console. Why do some people not read what Satoru Iwata said? It's no wonder Iwata has gotten frustrated by how some of the gaming press misinterprets his comments. Here's the important part of his statement as follows:
"As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the devel...
Graphics are important, but so is art direction. Xenoblade's character models aren't that good, and I say that in terms of both graphics and art direction. However, what the game does appear to do well is the art direction of its environments and creature designs, and those help make up for the game's graphical shortcomings.
Witcher 3's developer is well known for pushing graphics and animation from a technical perspective, whereas Monolith Soft is not. I thi...
It comes out first in Japan at the end of April. Nintendo has only said that the game is currently planned for a targeted 2015 release overseas. Developer Monolith Soft did confirm that localization is underway. However, this is one of Nintendo's bigger localization efforts, so I wouldn't expect it out until fall.
It is completely understandable why some people are disappointed by Wii U's software library. Despite how many good games it does have, and will receive later this year, there's still a lack of games overall and software diversity remains an issue. I love my Wii U, currently more than my PS4, but if someone only wants to own just one console, then it's hard to recommend a Wii U if your not really into most of Nintendo's franchises.
Unfortunately, Nintendo has...
Here's a quick history of Wii U's hardware development timeline:
note: all the info is taken from Iwata Asks and/or statements made on separate occasions from Iwata/Miyamoto
- Wii U is conceived in 2008. Early discussion on the console's direction was underway
- By April 2009, Nintendo's engineering team was designing Wii U's basic structure and had settled early on in wanting to use an MCM design and have the system posit...
Nintendo does show up to E3. They had their typical E3 booths setup in 2013 and 2014 despite not having a traditional press conference at either event. Nintendo's figureheads and other producers attended E3 too, but Iwata missed E3 2014 due to his health condition. Masahiro Sakurai even showed up to one of the E3 events to present a Smash Bros demo and E3 2014 featured a Smash Bros tournament for fans.
Also, in the eyes of the gaming press and plenty of gamers, Nintendo...
Nintendo still needs to provide 2015 release dates for the following titles:
Star Fox, Devil's Third, Fire Emblem X SMT, Yoshi's Wooly World, Mario Maker, Fatal Frame 5 and Xenoblade Chronicles X. We only know Yoshi is confirmed for fall, Mario Maker for September and Fire Emblem X SMT for winter.
- Star Fox
We are still waiting for our first look at the game. Miyamoto confirmed the game will be in playable form at this year's E3...
Quite frankly, Nintendo will continue to prioritize its hardware console agenda by focusing on what it wants well above what third parties will want. I can point to numerous comments made by Iwata and Miyamoto that shows they are going to stick to their hardware differentiation strategy once again. Hell, Nintendo's next-gen unified architectural strategy is already and indication of Nintendo fulfilling a goal that is really a much bigger benefit to how it makes games than to something mo...
For what it is worth, back in January 2014, Nintendo producer, Kensuke Tanabe, who serves as producer for Retro's titles, made the following statement:
"Maybe the Donkey Kong series over time will also feature both 2D and 3D like as in the Super Mario series! The style of the next Donkey Kong Country title would also depend on the game design."
Of course, we can't take this as an actual project announcement, it's merely Mr. Tanabe thinki...
First of all, Wii U's not a competitive console. Secondly, while it has some intriguing exclusives, none of them are likely to be big sellers. Star Fox sales will be low despite fans asking for it. Devil's Third will bomb, Mario Maker will probably sell pretty well. Yoshi's Wooly World will probably sell better than DKC: Tropical Freeze and Xenoblade X sales will probably disappointment.
Fortunately, there's enough worthwhile games on Wii U to justify the p...
Man, it's like Iwata has to come to every naysayer's home and personally hand them their newspaper while he holds it up to you to show you his headline made it on to the front page. Then he'll ask to come inside so he can read the headline to you himself. When he asks you if you accepted what he said to be true, you say you still don't believe him, so he says screw it, and he and Miyamoto drive to the nearest Golden Spoon to get some frozen yogurt caramel salt flavor. Iwata ...
I just noticed earlier today from a comment on NeoGAF made 3 days ago, that there's unofficial NPD sales data for Bayonetta 2 that put its US sales at 157k copies (apparently as much as 164k copies if only including first month reported digital US sales). I think Japanese Bayonetta 2 sales were around 50k copies just before October 2014, but I'm not sure how much it sold since then, or what Europe's sales are.
There was also some other unconfirmed NPD sales fig...
