Can't argue with your point. Although, the switch, at least to my knowledge, doesn't have many 50GB games either. So, bit of a trade off wouldn't you agree?
Anyone who doesn't agree with me is a shill or just plain wrong. And that's because I'm the ultimate arbitor of what is true and correct, and completely impartial. Nobody else, regardless of their technical knowledge knows more than me. Oh dear.
Just glad we have two D&D games to consider. I'm playing both, but probably more Solasta at the moment until Baulders gate gets smoothed out.
Read through the article yourself and come to your own conclusions. What I got from this was, Phil would like as many players as possible to enjoy the games their studios are producing. However, he's always careful to add, within our 'ecosystem'.
From what we know of current H/W, I think it's safe to predict that PS5 will be significantly faster than the rest. Yes, faster NVMe drives are becoming available for PC that match or even exceed PS5 speeds. However, PS5 I/O includes features that PC doesn't. So until PC NVMe drives become much, much, faster and can brute force it,PS5 should win out. Although, having said that, PCIe ver 5.0 is on the horizon, and that could change things, but not in the short to medium term.

I would really like a VR option on Xbox SX, and it's entirely possible. However, Sony deserves a mention here for their early and continued adoption of the technology for PS. I know this is about MS, but just saying, because it would be great for all gamers to get this option.
Agreed. This essentially kills Oculus VR for many. This kind of enforced/ bundled consent, needs to stop. The law needs to move into the 21st century and protect peoples rights online.
Let's start with something most of us will hopefully agree upon. The PS5, SSD is much faster than that of the SX. And no matter what devs say, the underlying HW dictates that. Sure, devs can try to adjust things so it appears like the SX is running similar load times, but why would they? Okay. Now lets try to understand what this dev is actually saying.Personally, I'm interpreting his comments this way. Developing a game will be pretty much the same process regardless of the next gen ...
Except possibly for more stable framerates, but we will see.
Go Canada. Set the new standard for gamer rights
Okay, so you put an ad in after release so it can't affect sales too much. Then you remove it once it becomes toxic. By this time ad has already served it's purpose.Win win for 2K. People no stupid mister.
Seriously though, I've always wondered how companies get away with this, from a legal standpoint that is. I mean, you enter into contract with them when you purchase, and at that particular point in time. The copyright always remains, sure. But surely your i...
Hey, it's Colombia. The extra cash is for something that isn't on the box of contents! If you know what I mean. South America -Ms won't do anything.
More options. Always a good thing. well, except for Moby tarrifs, of course.
Okay, so I'm Xbox fan. Well, for that matter Playstation, PC and Nintendo also, but what the hell. I have no idea how the game will turn out -Does anyone, yet? But, after a whole generation of limited colour palettes I'm really hoping this isn't another one. At least last gen titles had an excuse for lack of colour due to limited memory - though devs often proclaimed the 'monochrome look' as in Skyrim, was intentional. Maybe this is just one location, but I'm not so ke...
I've tried to construct a suitable comment several times now, but.. I'm simply lost for words. Don't buy their games is all I can say. I know if you're a fan that's not easy to do. But if nearly everyone didn't purchase just one time, then future games may be saved.
And still we can't escape 30fps.
The take away from this article for me was, wherever you game, enjoy it. In that regard I think he is correct. I am a keen audiophile and only really listen to high quality music on high end gear, but I have friends who listen to MP3 quality on a stack system, and are more than happy with that. Music is the thing we have in common, and that's good.
Each gamer has their own priorities as to whether res or frame rate is more important. For me it's frame rate. I won't be purchasing any next gen game that is not designed to run @60fps. Unless it's a game genre where it really doesn't matter so much. The idea of 'performance' options is really a bit of a con. If a game isn't designed to run @60fps then it won't ever really be 60. Talking frame rate here remember.
Just slightly off topic. I've seen lots of people, including in this article praise the quick resume feature, because it remains even after unplugging the console! It's not magic people, the games are stored to the NVMe - Non-volatile memory, get it. The comments in the heading are clearly meant as a compliment.
You may have a point - certainly with updates. Though of course, NVMe drives are random access in nature just like system RAM, or ROM even. Unlike mechanical drives which are sequential access and have inherrent latencies because of it. Filling up HDD's can make a difference to access times dependent on where data is stored. Don't think the same is true of SSD's
