This next-gen for sure. After? We'll see.
Sony? Probably not so much. Amazon,Google and Apple, for sure.
I think it will impact slightly, as will other issues, but certainly not significantly. However, by next, next-gen, yeah, the whole landscape of video games will have changed and that in imho may be more significant for Sony than MS. How much depends on this coming gen and how the two companies react. Clearly, MS is far more proactive and aware of the changing market currently. Remember, even Rome fell. Don't expect things to always remain static. Wild thinking I now, but I can forsee a ...
If you take US price minus tax, and EU or UK price minus tax, then add the tax EU and UK prices should still be a lot cheaper
I suspect it will be exclusive, at least to the xbox eco system. Interpret that how you will, but other consoles probably won't see a day one release of new Bethesda titles. Again, interpret that how you choose.
To be fair, I think you're correct. Some of the latest games from Bethesda have been a little lackluster, but I suspect that is about to change. I mean, one of the reasons for less than stellar performance is definately the engine used to build the games. Frankly it's rubbish and very limiting in it's scope, but we already know they will be using a new engine going forward.
Yes, but PC is now really part of the Xbox eco system you seem so desperate to avoid, isn't it?
Captain, MS is a business. If I were MS I wouldn't completely restrict Bethesda games to Xbox eco system, but at the same time I wouldn't give equal access either. The middle ground is obvious. Day one releases to xbox eco system and later releases to other platforms - in other words timed exclusives. That's a win win for MS. Day one to Xbox encourages new players to Xbox, while timed exclusives rakes in the cash and legitimises MS claim of games everywhere. Or am I missing someth...
Which they have more than done. Watch this space.
And that's why it will remain on Amazon
Firstly Jin, Sony isn't the only publisher of AAA games, Some MS games are just as well known. Secondly, I believe you are being somewhat naive if you think the market isn't undergoing a transformation. And finally, I do believe you are correct that people will follow PS5 out of brand loyalty, at least early on in the generation, but as the market evolves that will almost certainly change. An example may help my point. Early on, PS5 will supply it's usual first class titles, but b...
Yes. All three, that's the point!
Personally, I would much prefer all games on all platforms as I'm sure most gamers would. But really, you can't critisize MS and ignore Sony. That's just hypocrisy
Oh, so true. Do you ever get the impression that many of the contributors on this site are more concerned with the games they choose not to play or can't play, than the ones they actually do play?
I appreciate you prefer Sony and the PS5 for your gaming. And that's great, because PS5 is going to be awesome. But since when did the pastime of playing games become about where you get the great games? Enjoy your gaming potato.
To be fair, I suspect Bethesda games will arrive on PS5 at some point. After all, why would MS turn down all that revenue? However, what I expect to see is timed exclusives for gamepass and the Xbox eco system, giving best of both worlds. How wonderfully ironic don't you think.
The service itself sounds very much like Gamepass, so that's good, I think. If only because it will keep subscriptions for such services competetive. However, I think MS eco system is far more advanced at this stage with X cloud, consoles and PC already covered. Then again, Amazon isn't short of cash so who knows.
I went staight to MS store for my pre-order. Yes, it was a pain and took about 30mins to get order through, but more or less guaranteed Nov 10th delivery.
Question. Why, when I placed my pre-order for series x on MS store the price was £449 for me in the UK - Allowing for exchange rate of Dollar to Sterling(and VAT of course). However, when I try to order this expansion SSD the price is £219 pounds -no allowance for exchange rate which would otherwise translate to about £172(+VAT) pounds. Conclusion, Rip off. So yeah, in the UK this is expensive.
Yeah, you're correct. But it's so much fun to see just how incorrect this guy can be! And occasionally he actually does gets quite close.
