Hi Sprinterboy.
Hope you are okay, matey.
All I can say in response is this generation needs to play out a little more before we know exactly what's happening. Though I do think you're correct about the likely sales numbers, at least initially. But equally, I think Xbox's strength this generation may surprise some people. Either way, I know gamers like us are going to be even happier this gen with what's to come, regardless of loyalties.

I wonder how many PS5 gamers will change their mind in a year or so when the Mega games for X start to flow. Personally, I have no inclination to purchase a PS5 at the moment, but I'm honest enough to know that's likely to change once VR arrives on the platform(or a new Wipeout game). How many PS5 gamers currently have Skyrim, Doom or othe Zenimax games already on their system. And of course, there are the new titles with PS5 timed exclusivity that now belong to MS. Does their interes...

"Who gives a shit if it is Gen 4 when it can only achieve Gen 3 speeds? The costs are more because it is proprietary."
No, incorrect. The costs are more because it's Gen 4. If I'm mistaken then supply link to a 1TB gen 4.
You clearly have little grasp of technology. If you really want to know why the speed is slower, but it's a Gen 4 card, it because it's only a X2 rather than the usual X4 lanes. If you don't know what that means look it up. ...

Another non issue, except to the fan boys.

Exactly. Real numbers.

I'm not pretending anything. The perceived difficulty of installing something into £500.00 console is enough to deter many. You may know what an M.2 slot is, but ask on the street and you may be surprised. The actual ease of doing this is largerly irrelevant, the perception for many is, it's difficult, because it's tech. How many PC owners would actually assemble or attempt repair on their own machines? I'm the same with motor vehicles, wouldn't touch one no matter ho...

I do enjoy reading all your comments even the ones I disagree with, but really. Sometimes it's like playing chinese whispers on this site. By the time I get to the end of the comments section the posts seem to have deviated off topic so much, I have no idea what's going on. As for me, I think GP is currently good value compared to the competition, but I will always prefer to own games, preferably physical copies. And yes, price does matter, that's why I won't be purchasing ...

Not surprised Captain! Did you really understand all those percentages. We have numbers like 57% and 40% of the 29% that replied.

Couldn't agree more. That's the point I was trying to make, very poorly it seems. The MS solution to me, is the more elegant. Just plug and play, no worries about performance matching or having to pull your machine apart to install.

Yes, Giblet, but is it overpriced? Check out what's available at the equivalent spec.
I do have aproblem with the price, but that to do with conversion rates and taxes fo the UK

Nexus, see my comment above, I'm not arguing the speed, just the method of installation. And no it won't be just Seagate.

1943d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

No, I'm not defending MS, I'm trying to argue that the choice of installation method they have chosen is actually more user friendly, than the Sony option. The average consumer will not feel comfortable digging into a PS5 to install more storage. Proprietary in the case, doesn't relate to the storage itself, but to the form factor for installation. The MS soloution is imho, just the better option. It's not about the performance of the drive where most of us accept Sony has a ...

'Microsoft is offering half the performance for the same price'
For the same price as what? We don't have a comprable price for PS5 SSD,because there are none available so you really can't say as yet. And if you actually look at current prices for equivalent performance devices, the Seagate drive is not overpriced.

Historically, as well as in the present day, proprietary devices tend to innovate first, ahead of becoming industry standards. Hence my r...

Okay, proprietary Vs industry standard. How many of you claiming standard is better, because you are purchasing an PS5, already own an Apple product? Now, personally, I prefer industry standard, but there can be advantages to proprietary. For example, better design, and guaranteed performance. Just saying.

And also for completeing them on easy. Granted not the same rewards, but rewards nevertheless.

Can I just suggest a slighlty different perspective on easy modes. When I was younger(yep, I'm old) I would always play games on the most difficult setting, because not only did I enjoy the challenge, but I also thought I was getting maximum value from the game by doing so. At that time I mostly played FPS and multiplayer.
Moving forward a couple of decades I now enjoy a completely different genre of games, in my case RPG's,which often have a different type of difficulty to c...

I think the combination of the haptic controller and Tempest audio really is something that will benefit games from the get go. But even more so when the 2nd gen of Sony VR comes out and puts these benefits to the forefront. And I'll be at the front of the queue when it does.
