Waa! Waaa! Nintendo only offered me 20 free games!
Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth. They didn't have to offer you anything. As an early adopter, you knew the risks. And it's 21 free games - remember Excitebike?
Endless Ocean.
New IP. 2 games.
Of course, it's probably not the type of game the Hardcore want but it kept me playing for 500 hours.
Terrible article.
The author admits he hasn't tried a 3DS so how can he comment on it?
And Nintendo didn't give people a reason to carry a 3DS around with them?
Errm, Streetpass says Hi! Unlocking new features in games you own is a big incentive.
You'll get less money for it now.
The 3DS has far better graphics than the DS (trust me - play Monkey Ball: Touch and Roll on the DS and Monkey Ball 3D on the 3DS - you notice the difference even in 2D), AR, streetpass....
So, it does a hell of a lot more than the DS did and it is packing higher specs too. The idea that this is just a DS in 3D is nonsense.
Of course they're rivals.
Otherwise, why does every article about the 3DS / Wii U feature comments like "3DS sux! Vita rulz!"?
If that's not rivalry, what is?
Well, the Operation Moonfall facebook page has already got more Likes than Operation Rainfall, so here's hoping.

They do it fairly frequently with their handhelds, but not their main consoles - the Wii console of 5 years ago is exactly the same as the Wii now.
Sure, you can upgrade it with various add ons, but the fact remains - the only thing Nintendo ever change in their main consoles is the colour.
In other words, there will never be a WiiUi - if a new version of the Wii U appeared, it would just be a different colour - everything else would be the same.
I own all those games. I agree. They're all fantastic.
Some of that is a little harsh.
Stock tends to drop when a new console is announced. This isn't exclusive to the Nintendo Wii U, it's just a fact of business.
Sorry. Double post.
I have a feeling that Nintendo are waiting to see how well Xenoblade sells in Europe before releasing it in the US. That would explain why Xenoblade's release date was pushed forward by two weeks.
Perhaps it will be a Wii U launch title.
Go to Metacritic - the highest rated exclusive games this gen are Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.
If they added voice over the games would take even longer - especially with all the localisation.
No, it would just start a different type of fanboy war.
I can see it now.
"Microsony sux! Nintendo rulz!"
MicroSony?
But seriously, this wouldn't stop Nintendo. If anything it makes it easier for them - competing against one console is easier than competing with two.
Nintendo did introduce a few new IPs with the Wii, but they're probably not the games the Hardcore likes.
Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Play, Wii Music, Endless Ocean - all new IPs.
But a Nintendo console without Mario would never happen - it's like Disney without Mickey. And after all, the highest scoring games this generation - on any format - were Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.
They presumably mean outsell the Wii this year as opposed to outsell the Wii in total, which is a bit different and nowhere near as impressive, given that the Wii a dying console and the Wii U has been announced.
There is no way the XBox will sell 40 million in the next 5 months.
If you read the full quote, it ends with:
"But to be fair, last time I was sceptical of the original Wii, and look at how that did. I'm sure that the games they make for Wii U will be amazing."
I really don't get why so many articles seem to be pleased at Nintendo's "failure". The games world would be a lot less interesting without them.
As for the comment about Nintendo being worth more than Toyota? Did he forget their terrible problems with brakes?
