Harsh review. The limited 3D viewing angle shouldn't count as a negative - every game on the 3DS has it.

No, Nintendo's strength is the fact that you have to buy one of their consoles to play Nintendo games - games that are renowned for quality.

Well, Sony dropped the price of their Xperia Play phone recently. They didn't offer anything in compensation. I haven't heard anyone complaining either.

They ignored Donkey Kong's anniversary last year because Mario was bigger. Same here.
The fact is, three 3DS games have already sold more than 1 million. People are willing to pay for quality.
And given how the third parties have deserted the 3DS, resulting in the current situation, why on earth should Nintendo reduce their prices just so they can sell more shovelware?
History proves that the weaker handheld is always most popular.
