who won the shovelware category?

Nintendo - Wii

Who won most delayed games?

Sony - PS3

How about most games with main characters on steroids.

"Such a fate was in store for Cliff Bleszinski lead designer of Gears of War 2. According to 1UP’s podcast N’Gai Croal and 1UP team talks about how during the Microsoft press conference Cliffy B. was demonstrating a level from his upcoming Gears of War 2 when near the beginning, all of a sudden his Xbox 360 froze then crashed. You can catch the crash here on Gamespot’s full E3 Microsoft press conference coverage.

"oh darn, another red ring of death, quick, everyone look over there at the Sony booth, they are showing R2, look at those bland textures while we change out this 360 for another one"

Pathetic!

says it right in the menu selection for DVD upscaling.

Taken from the Playstation v1.80 firmware site...

Upscaling Games and Movies

SCEA is enhancing the PS3 user experience by enabling PlayStation and PlayStation 2 games to be upscaled to HD resolution, up to 1080p. Classic games as well as recently released titles can now be enjoyed like never before. And PS3 system now has the capability to upscale DVD videos to HD quality (up to 1080p), a featu...

I'm not sure what you are on about. Aclay merely said that an upscalled DVD is not showing you all the detail that a BD is. Why are you attacking him? One year ago all you 360 guys were claiming HD-DVD was the tihs and you didn't need Sony's BD player, now that BD won you are what, moping in the corner saying I would rather watch a upscalled dvd than a BD? Very sad indeed. And PimpDaddy, all you ever post is about the movie 300 not looking great. Is that the only BD movie you have seen?...

So your opinion is this is a great game and deserves a 10. Why?

Does it have great graphics...no
Does it have a memorable single player...no
Does the single player last more than 5 hrs...no
Does it have a great multiplayer experience (above its predecessor)...no
Does it improve upon its predecessor...barely
Does it add new features over its predecessor...yes

So there is my list, I don't think the game deserves a 10 and never di...

Before I purchased my 360, we would meet at a friends house and crowd around his 360 and play Halo2. Had a lot of fun. Then I joined the 360 crowd in the Christmas of '05 and waited impatiently for the Halo3 bomb to drop. Hype and build up were a great thing and I don't think I have ever been so excited about a game (including the televised launch(can't beleive I stayed up for that)). Anyway, I got the game thinking this is going to be cool, started it up, and the let down began. There h...

first, you are dead wrong in this following statement...

"I say this because although DVD-9’s hold more than enough space for this generation of video game consoles (which can only really access a maximum of 256mb of TEXTURE MEMORY in the case of the PS3 and 512mb in the case of the 360 at any given time"

The 360 has a total of 512mb with an extra 10mg of video cache. This does not mean that the 360 can allocate all 512meg of the ram to building textur...

I have only played GOW: Chains of Olympus on the PSP. I Liked it alot but don't know if it fits in with the story at all.

shame it wont have retroactive trophies, but I understand that since it is a single player game, everything is stored locally on the system and there was no reason for the game to tie your game progress to your PSN-ID. Still a shame though, I worked hard for those in-game trophies, but what an excuse to start from scratch...

Looks like home is coming along nicely. Wish I could be part of the Beta group but oh well. One question though if anyone knows. Is home going to replace our XMB, or will it be an application off of the XMB to run when we want to? If I had to hazzard a guess, I would say the latter since Sony is so big on it XMB and intergrating it into everything from the PS3 to Laptops to their TV's.

Love that Warhawk area!

This has always been a fast paced game so what you said is easy to see. I still have my card ready once this game hits. I remember last year they were thinking of taking out the multiplayer all together because of issues then they decided to add it back in.

Hope they get it worked out...

they could put one chapter on each disc. That would total 5 discs. Get done with a chapter, get up and put in a new disc. That would work...wouldn't it?

6535d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

you will still need to have your original disc in the drive to show you have the game, it will just ignor the dvd and run off the hdd.

I can't see this helping very many of the 360's games since they already run smooth and great, but there are a couple (Bioshock and Mass Effect) that come to mind that could realy use installing to a hard drive to just make them more enjoyable (Bioshock) and downright playable (Mass Effect).

Sony is not only experementing with downloading full games at a cheaper price than the disc based version, but also has all the original PS1 games that you can download and run directly from the PS3, and hopefully will allow the same of PS2 games.

Good point Six-0-3

Of course MS is not to be out-done by this and already started putting the 'xbox originals' that you can download and install. But again you need to have the disc space.

And that would be if we could install the game to an external hard drive so those of us that only has the 20gig drive (13gig available after deleting all the "free" junk that comes on it) can install more than just one (1) game. I am sure MS will put some sort of DRM encoding to the ripped DVD so hopefully they will think past selling a tonne of the 120gig hard drives and allow us to use our own external drives connected.

Sony is not forcing any of the current titles which are under construction or any game that has already been released to have trophy support, however, any games which are scheduled to release after a certain date (of which I don't know) will be mandated to not only have trophy support, but also include the custom in-game music option.

As for the article, I thought it was well written, and just like the arthur, I too used the "well the game is identical on both systems but ...
