and it not only had a better framerate, better visuals, but also added online capabilities...it is a fighting game...anyone, anyone?
Oh bother, I can't seem to remember what that game was. Oh well, after playing Bioshock on the 360, I played through it once, and it was a very nice game. I lent it to a friend and his little sister got ahold of the disc and that was the end of that. He payed me for the game, but I never re-purchased it. If this does come out for the PS3, I th...
Gears of War 2 may not be the leap of visual perfection some people are trying to claim, but I do not think it is the top of the food chain. Gears is designed around one and only one kit, the Unreal Editor. This is where games are looking the same on the 360 because many of them use this very game engine. I don't think we have see all the 360 has to give, but I do think the developers need to take a step back and stop trying to push the boundries of an engine that has reached its peak. It...
Nice to see someone in here has the coconuts to do what you just did. Makes me think this place could have some hope after all.
Dareaver, he posted it because like the posting rules say, even articles that do not shine a positive light on your console of choice still need to be submitted. Just because you do not like what it says, maybe I have been following the game he starts out talking about and wanted to know about the pod cast. It is not Meus's fault that the Major took...
if everything you blurted out wasn't derogatory or something you snatched from the top of your head just to make a comment. I guess if you would stop pulling stuff out of thin air, we would not have to correct you so much.
Try this next time. Before you type some more drivel up, ask yourself "am I really adding anything to this conversation, or am I doing this just to get attention"? Then post accordingly, just keep in mind, if the latter is true, the open zone is ...
I spent the better part of 5 months playing my 360 on a Hitachi 50" SDTV that had a best connection of S-Video, and then picked up my JVC 56" HDTV early last year (before I picked up my PS3). You will not believe the difference. The clarity is unbelievable. I have found my self playing some of my older games again and finding them much easier and more enjoyable to play because I can now see everything the developer intended...case in point...Gears of War, on my Hitachi, I did not...
I agree most with your "every game does not have to be revolutionary" statement. I think a lot of people get hung up on the whole revolutionary bit.
I too was a bit dissapointed with the demo, however looking back, the same could be said for Uncharted and R&C: tod on the PS3 side, and the 360 has had its fair share of game demo's where the demo was flat, but the game was great. After reading some of you stating that this is the same demo from last year, my hopes...
I agree, if there is one game on the 360 that needed a install is Mass Effect, it is a great game, but between all the loading and texture pop in, it really detracts from the game.
I love AMD, hate ATI, love nVidia, hate Intel!
I think the difference is while this developer says the PS3 has a learning curve, this developer is still willing to learn. Other developers (Valve) just give up and say "we are a small team of developers and can't spare any time to work on the PS3"...that is a definition of lazy!
you can't throw any good ol dvd drive into the 360, just like the hard drive, the firmware on the dvd drive is locked to the 360. put a different drive in there with out the proper firmware, and any disk you put in will think it is a pirated copy (Microsoft is so thoughtfull arn't they). There are "tricks" out there to fool the system, but I have not looked into it for a year or so...so things may have changed by now.
There are only two real issues with the 360...the DVD drive, and the heat generated by the CPU / GPU. They have reduced the CPU already and that alone brought the failure rates from above 30% to below 12%, now that the are reducing the GPU, that should get the RROD finaly under control. Now if they can just get that manufacture of the DVD drive to build a solid drive, the 360 could turn around and be the system we deserve and want.
just finished downloading the 100mb wmv version and WOW. the textures are great, the lighting is awsum, this is going to be a fantastic game and experiance. I have already watched the video 5 times and keep bringing co-workers over to see it.
What is sad is when you rip on an article where they list known prices for the 360 parts you can purchase and you twist it into a anti-360, pro-PS3 article just because it says you can upgrade a HDD in the PS3 cheaper than you can the 360.
Of course even the 360 owners of us are laughing at your insecurities. But hey at least you got 1 thing right, the lack of PS3 games...oh wait, you failed there as well.
that this whole GTA IV runing at 630/640 on PS3 was debunked and R* confirmed both the 360 and PS3 run native at 720? Anyone else remember that?
He believed in HD-DVD
I would like you to elaborate on 1/2 the quality of hd-dvd. Do please tell us your insights on this revelation. You say his points are valid, interesting. I take you are saying his thoughts on DRM are valid then. Again very interesting, since I also have a 360 where many of the things I have downloaded before having to exchange it are DRM protected and if my internet is down, or I take it to my friends house with no net, I can't even play the things I legitly downloaded. How is this diff...
I only picked up "The Golden Compass" on BD.
I understand the issues between consoles and PC's, and while there have been less than a handfull of games that allowed console gamers to go againt their PC bretheren, it would be totaly wicked to browse the list and see an icon of a 360 mixed in with an icon of a PS3, but I am sure that will never happen. Shame really, but the manufactures want to make sure you buy their system to play the game with all of your friends.
As a person who owns both a 360 and a PS3, I can not and will not recommend a 360 to any of my friends on which I suggest they get. 20 out of the 20 friends at work have all received the dreaded RROD. Some of them multiple times, one guy is on his 5th 360. I will let them play both systems at my house and will inform them of the pluses and minisus on BOTH systems but will not in good concious recommend the 360. Understand, I will not try to talk them out of one either, so if they have a p...
I was hoping they were going to do a 80gb or even 120gb special edition Solid Snake model, but they put all the extra money into the case itself...metal, not plastic, I wonder if it is an actual metal case, or just metal overlays stuck to the original plastic case? Anyone know?
